Saturday:

We started the day by waking up at 4am. It was way too early!

We had two uneventful mishaps. One at Sacramento Airport - my carryon was too wide. Of course this was my own fault since I didn’t transfer the correct measurements from computer to paper. We had to take out Jordan’s school books then we were ok. The second was Jordan left his Precal book in the overhead storage on the airplane...That will be something we have to pay to replace.

We get our rental car and off we go.

I saw this automatic window in our car. I didn't know they made manual windows still ;)

We're here!

We make to Old Key West by 4:00. Check in, unpack and then head to the grocery store. Here are some photos of our room.

We first go to Earl of Sandwich. This a Greer tradition as we always go there first no matter what time of day to eat. We've been there at 11:30 at nite one time. We love it! Next is the grocery store and finish the night resting...ah, we're tired.

Sunday:

We wake up aroun 8 and Jordan around 9. We start our day at DHS since it will be open late tonight. Keith and Jordan go to Rockin Rollercoaster

040.jpg

I don't ride...just too chicken. So I sit and wait or wonder around
041.jpg

We all ride Toy Story Mania. I love this ride and wish the lines weren't so long. Speaking of lines...There were a group of kids from Argentina, Brazil and Spain. There were about 5 groups that consisted of 200 people. All the fast passes were gone immediately :( It was the most crowded January I've ever seen.

We stopped for lunch and purchased some mediocre food at a high price ;)

I love watching the litte shows they have on the streets. This was like the dating game. She was actually married but here husband was home while she was on vacation. They ended up calling him on her cell phone...lol

We've never been to the American Idol Experience so this was new to us. It's been about 4 years since we last came to WDW. The stage was pretty cool!
053.jpg

We were done for now and went back to our room...but of course the boys had to stop and play pool. Another tradition...

I cook a meal of pasta back at the room and then we head out to finish the nite. Even though all the foreign students were gone it was still pretty crowded. The boys road Rockin Rollercoaster 3 more times and we all went on Toy Story Mania one more time.

The guys snuck on one more time at 10:45.

That was our first day. Tomorrow off to Magic Kingdom.

Day 2 Monday

Change of plans...with all the crowds at DHS yesterday we decided to go to a park that doesn't offer early or late magic hours. So we head over to Epcot. Now I have to tell you that this trip is very different for us this year because my oldest son Danny did not come with us. He's a freshman in college so things are very different. Kinda sad....

So this trip I decided I wasn't going to be a chicken and try a new ride. After much discussion with the boys they decided for me to try Mission Space verses Expedition Everest. So first I went on the green "baby side". It wasn't bad so then I tried the orange side. I have motion sickness pretty bad but I kept my eyes open and stared at the screen lol Not bad at all. I immediately text my oldest and good friend Mary to tell them of my accomplishments :cool1:

I felt a little dizzy so the boys went to Test Track and I soaked up the sun. It's not going to be here much longer since it's suppose to rain tomorrow...very sad. After they were done, Jordan found his dream car. Its the new Camero and the low price is 23,000.00. I told him he better finish high school and go to college lol...

We head over to the Innovations. They really enjoyed the new simulator rollercoaster. I tried to take a picture of the "machine" /simulator but they stopped me :( It was tall and it had an arm then swung you the way you designed the rollercoaster pattern. Very neat but they said it was too short. Here's a picture of them designing their ride:
012.jpg

Keith was pretty excited about the weather simulator. He is really into weather and want to go to a Tornado chase someday. He was pretty disappointed in it. Oh well....

015.jpg

I don't know what's going on with my camera but the photos didn't turn out great...so sorry~

016.jpg

001.jpg

We finish at Innovations and ride Ellens Energy. We ride this all the time...don't ask me why..I think Keith likes it lol

011.jpg

Soaring is next since I got fast passes while the boys were on Test Track. The regular wait was not long at all. Crowds were definately better. We head off next to the Seas.
017.jpg

Turtle Talk with Crush is always a laugh but this time a little girl asked Crush where babies come from...what? Did I hear that right? Crush kinda avoids the question while everyone is laughing lol

By now it is 5pm. We don't have reservations anywhere so we go to the World Showcase and eat in Italy. It was very good!

018.jpg

020.jpg

Since both Keith and Jordan play the drums we had to go to Japan and watch the show!

021.jpg

Jordan loves to shop there also.

025.jpg

We walk to through Germany and see the new carmel store. Yummy~

We wait around and finally Illuminations starts!

Our day is over and we head back to Old Key West. Now Jordan's in his room slumming it, Keith is watching tv and I'm typing this trip report to you ;)

I think tomorrow will be a whatever and rest day since it's suppose to rain. I guess we'll have to see. TTFN

It sounds like you are all having a good time. Sorry about the rain-but it beats snow in my opinion. Can't wait to hear more.

Day 3

Today will be a short one. It was a stay home and relax day. We stayed up pretty late, untill 2 am. We went to bed and at 9am there was knocking on our door. "housekeeping, housekeeping, housekeeping"...she must have said it 10 times. Finally Keith got up and tried to shoo her away. She just didn't want to go. She wanted him to sign something, wanted to come in and clean ect. She didn't speak English well :( So we were up. We left around 12 and went too the Rain Forest Cafe. It was a first time for us.

After we finished lunch we headed over to World of Disney. I purchased a few key chains and Jordan read comic books while we shopped.

006-1.jpg

Then off to the Lego store. Jordan told me he was too old to go there anymore ;)

007-1.jpg

We wanted to go to the Virgin Atlantic Store but it's not there anymore :( Jordan was very sad. We needed to head back. Jordan has homework to do still but we had plans to go to the Boardwalk or come back and see Green Lantern at the movie theater. As time went on the thunderstorms were coming and tornedo warnings were announced. Keith being the weather person he was, was very excited! Nothing came of it, but we ended up staying in all nite. I cooked pasta and we stayed in for the nite.

009-1.jpg

Day 4

Today is Magic Kingdom day. Keith and Jordan aren't into this park very much. I think their favorite is Epcot. But...who can come all the way to Florida and not see all of the parks, right? We enter in and they shoot over to Space Mountain. Everything is a walk on and this is what we're used to. Since it's not crowded they go on again. I sit outside and wait. I enjoy this every much. I love watching people mill around. What's more fun is watching the little kids. They are so cute all dressed up in their princess costumes. I even like watching them throw a fit :) I'm so over that stage, but I remember them.:rolleyes

We go to Buzz Lightyear next. After playing Toy Story Mania, Buzz just isn't that great anymore. Next is Monsters Inc. Laugh Show. I love it!

001-2.jpg

002-2.jpg

We ask Jordan what he wants to do next. He wanted to go to the Speedway. I had no idea he would want to do this since it was a 30 minute way, but he did. Jordan is 17 years old and can drive a real car...Huh? i thought it was pretty cute :)

003-2.jpg

It was snack time and Jordan wanted a Dole Whip. On the way we went to the Haunted Mansion.

005-2.jpg

We went through the castle. They have such beautiful tile art.

006-2.jpg

We finish up and head back to our room. While we are relaxing there is a big thump on the wall. I guess a golfball hit so we take a look

008-1.jpg

There were actually 3 golfballs stuck in the palm tree lol

For all the times we've stay at Old Key West we never ate at Olivia's. We go ahead a give it a try. Yummmyyyyyy! I love their Olivia's potatoes which is like scalloped potatoes.

009-2.jpg

Back to the park. Again they head to Space Mountain. I like watching the guy at the glass store.

012-1.jpg

The castle at nite...

013.jpg

I love, love the fireworks. The favorite part of my day. We take the bus back to the room and Jordan puts the gift we got for him at the Japanese store at Epcot. I think he sat there for 3 hours doing that. Ahhh...to be young again...

017-1.jpg

Keith watches the Austrailian Open, I read my book.

Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom and La Nouba
