Live Report VWL - 10/03 to 10/10 (with pictures)

We fly from NC to MCO on Thursday for a long weekend at BWV! Your trip report and the wonderful photos will help make our countdown go faster ... at least I hope so:thumbsup2

Photo size is perfect as far as I am concerned:cool1:

I am having a bad football weekend ... Penn State lost, Panthers lost and my Eagles are losing:scared1: At least next weekend I will have the Food and Wine Festival to distract me.

Thanks for posting great pictures!! We leave Thursday morning for our first stay at VWL!!! :yay: Can't wait to get there!!!!

Love the pics- thanks! I wish we go could again during October! We'll be there in about 6 weeks though, so until then I can live through you. We are staying at VWL for the first time, so I would love lots of pics of that!

Sunday night update -

After we got moved into our room, we headed back over to Epcot. We basically just wandered around World Showcase again. Had dinner at the renovated Mexican restaurant and ended up sharing an order of nachos in the outdoor sitting area. We wandered around some more just enjoying Epcot but not really doing much. DW got the Creme Brulee at the French kiosk and she said it was good. We then headed back home.

As we were walking on the walkway into VWL, we saw the neatest thing. Right next to the walkway was a deer. I didn't see it at first but DW did and she stopped me. We were about 4 feet away from it. The deer looked at us and we looked at the deer. It was really cool. Finally, the deer just wandered away. I couldn't believe how close we were. DW went on up to the room and I took some pictures of the VWL lobby. Not sure what our plan is for tomorrow morning, but I did tell DW she could sleep in some if she wanted to.

Here are a few more pictures.

The pictures are great and perfectly sized! I can't wait to see and read more. Enjoy your getaway.

Awesome Pics! Keep them coming...

I would rather be 4 feet from the deer, then 4 feet from the SSR Bobcats! :thumbsup2

Great pics!! Thanks for sharing your trip with us

I had totally forgotten just how beautiful WL is. Love Love Love the pics, made me a little sad I did not book WL for our upcoming trip in November, it is DH favorite resort.
We saw a doe one of the years we stayed there too but it was a bit farther away, 4 feet is close.

Wow, wonderful pictures. Any plans to eat at Artist Point? We stayed @ WL 2 years ago but never ate at AP. It is on our list to try in April and I can't wait.

We have never been to Disney in October, but now I really want to! Blue skies, not too crowded... Enjoy it for us! :thumbsup2

Beautiful pictures! The Lodge is just stunning. Hope you have a wonderful time, and thanks for sharing!:goodvibes

Great pix...thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

So which room did you end up in? I assume you avoided the end of the hallway?

Great pictures and thank you for sharing. I can't believe we were just there. I sat in each of those chairs, lol. It was soooooo relaxing.

Can't wait - a few more weeks for us - first time F & W. Enjoy.

Monday afternoon update -

A couple of answers to questions -

Someone asked how the Fisherman's Pie dish was at the Ireland kiosk. It was very good. A creamy sauce with bits of seafood covered with mashed potatoes. So far our favorite foods have been the Lobster Roll and Crab Cake at the American kiosk. But really we haven't tried anything that we haven't liked.

Someone else asked about the crowds. So far we've been lucky and the crowds haven't been too bad. I thought Epcot would be more crowded yesterday, with it being the first weekend for F&W, but they seemed light to us. And today they weren't bad either. We're heading back to MK tonight though and I expect a heavy crowd since this is the only night MK is open late this week except for the two MNSSHP nights.

The weather has been absolutely perfect so far. You could not ask for a prettier day today. Sun has been out all day, but the temperature has been in the low 80's. Considering we just went through a very hot summer, I'm not complaining at all.

Well here is what we've done so far. I let DW sleep in this morning and then we headed back to Epcot. We went down to the bus, but it seemed to be taking forever to come, so I told DW to come on and we walked over to the boats an took a boat to the Contemporary and then the monorail to Epcot. It probably took longer doing this, but at least I felt like we were making some progress.

After we got to Epcot, we went over and got FP's for Soarin (got there around 10:30 and FP was for 2:00, not too bad). We then road Living with the Land. We then headed to WS. Walked around and had lunch at several kiosks. The food has been great, though the portions are kind of small. But that makes it possible to try multiple food items. We then went to American Adventure, which is one of our favorites.

After that, we headed back to FW for our ride on Soarin. Like a lot of folks, this is my favorite ride in all of WDW. I just wish it lasted a little longer. After Soarin, we went to see the fishes at Living Seas.

We're now back in the room, resting our feet before heading to MK.
