Hi All

We are in our 1 bedroom villa ( me, DH, DS- 2 1/2 and DS 1) at the Wilderness Lodge right now as Jeanne howls outside our windows. It's been quite the adventure which I know everyone has heard in detail with the other hurricanes, but I'll fill you in on what's happened here so far.

Checked in yesterday - we are here until next Saturday..had already stocked up on groceries before we got here - good thing because the Mercantile was packed - lots of people buying beer!! Parks closed at 7pm yesterday and we had hurricane info put under our door last night. We are to stay in our room until the storm has passed. They are offering non-stop movies on three different channels. They also came around last night and gave us 2 flashlights.

Didn't really hear the storm start last night except for the wind howling through the vents. They offered continental breakfast in room 3519 so we went up and got DS some orange juice..which they did give us for free. (even though the whole breakfast was like $3.00)

I'm very impressed with the cast members who have been nothing but extremely pleasant. Got 2 Welcome Homes and everything!!!

There are quite a few trees down and we are getting a little bit of water in our sliding glass door.

We'll be on line all day so I'll check back later..just know that we are still having fun because we are here

I was wondering about all of you living and vacationing in Florida. Thanks for the update, stay safe, my prayers are with you!

So good to hear that you have a positive attitude with all that is going on. Here's hoping Jeanne starts moving away a little faster. Right now they are reporting that she is moving very slowly.

Stay safe and please keep us informed as to what is happening there at the World.

Thank you for sharing your current hurricane update. Stay safe & enjoy your vacation after the hurricane leaves.

We were scheduled to arrive at SSR Sunday but decided to drive straight through when Beth at OKW found us a studio room for Saturday. After talking to SO many Cast Members while driving down I-75, Beth was the only one who seemed willing to try to help us find shelter so two thumbs WAY up to her! We still plan to move to our 1 BR at SSR when they give the all clear or we'll make a run for it during a lighter wind gust if necessary.

I've taken a few pix out our window which I can email to anyone who could help me post them to share with you all.

Thanks for the info about VWL. We're headed there in less than three weeks.

Hope you are safe! Would love more info as the week goes on and the storm moves away. Damage reports, etc.

Just got the ok to leave the room - so we are heading for the lobby to see what's happening.

I'll keep you posted...

That was a false alarm...headed for the doors and were told the winds had picked back up again so we couldn't head over to the main building. Winds are over 60mph right now...so back to "Toy Story" and crackers:earsboy:

thanks for keeping us on top of things
We're going "home" for the 1st time this coming Sat - will also be in a 1B
Let us know how things go, what damage was done to our "home", and how the parks did
thanks much

Thank you for the update...you really seem to be making the best of it. Stay safe! Sandie B

We are in a Grand Villa at Saratoga Springs. We are also enjoying the free movies being broadcast on three tv channels. There are a few small trees which have been pulled up by the roots on the grounds. There is one small tree laying on a couple of cars in the parking lot. The buildings have held up really well. There is no sign of damage to our building. The light poles around the quiet pool have been rocking back and forth in the wind but are holding up well. We have been instructed by the front desk that the high winds will continue into this evening.

Thanks Jenny and Marty for the updates ! Hope you all are making the best from the situation. Sounds like the CM's are doing their best. Stay safe guys

Still in the room but walked down the hall to take out our trash (lots of diapers....) and there is a tree on the building. A very tall tree (well not anymore) but not super wide. Looks like it hit where the hallways are........

Drinking wine now.....may not be coherent (haha)

We snuck out during lockdown and moved to SSR and are more comfortable in our 1BR now. The front desk at SSR told us the lockdown would end at 5 PM but we haven't received a message on our phone yet. We're hoping to get something decent to eat for dinner (been living off potato chips and bagels all day) but we'll deal with whatever happens.

Marty, are you offering tours of your GV since the models are closed? ;)

Hi,

Thanks for the report!!!! Stay safe!!!

Allison

Hey Poohj80,

Welcome home to SSR. I would give you a tour but we have 6 children in our villa and you can imagine what the place looks like after being in here for 24 consecutive hours. It looks like the hurricane came through here....:hyper:

I ventured out to walk around the Congress Park buildings and there are several trees uprooted and one of the buildings has a lot of shingles off the roof scattered around on the ground.

I was really teasing Marty! ;)

We can see a LOT of shingles on the ground outside our room but the ducks are back on the water so things must be calming down.

Just got back from the lobby...can you say chaos? But fun. Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale were there - Dale paid a lot of attention to my DS (1 yrs old) and he loved it. Giggled up a storm.

We were going to eat down there but the waits are of course crazy..so pizza in the room again..much to my DH's dismay. Not a happy camper:)

Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to venture out.
Jenny

Artist Palette at SSR opened around 630 with Donald, Pluto, Genie and a trivia contest (we won Jenga). Nice to have some solid food for dinner!

Hey Jenny...

Hope things worked out. We left the day before. Hey... we're from Columbus too!
