live from the Wilderness Lodge!!!!

Well its 2:30 pm and the afternoon thunderstorms are underway.We were at EPCOT just ready to board Test Track when they shut down due to Lightening and rain, there are a bazillion Brazilians standing around cheering then BIG FLASH and BOOM, they scattered like ants. One of their Guides who spoke fairly good english asked why everyone was leaving, it took 2 ,explanations on why we dont play with lighting, once he understood that, he was jumping up and down trying to gather up his charges and get them to cover!!
Wilderness Lodge 1st floor guest room renovations are underway, we are on the 4th floor in a renovated room, VERY NICE. We had a big Mickey Mouse Towel Animal on arrival and have had Towel Animals everyday.Bus Service is Ok, just be sure to leave yourself enough time to get where your going if you have reservations for dining, WL is sharing a Bus with the Grand Floridian so it has been taking a few more minutes to get where we are going. Well its time for a nap then off to see fantasmic tonight.

11:45pm 7/19/06.Just returned from Downtown Disney.
We have found that the Bus service is a little spotty, while there is a dedicated bus for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, the other routes are sharing a route with Fort Wilderness and Grand Floridian.So if your going to Animal Kingdom you will stop at Grand Floridan then Typhoon Lagoon then Animal Kingdom, so aloow yourself plenty of time to get to where your going.
Our trip to Downtown Disney was a bit of an adventure.Bus picked us up at WL then over to Grand Floridan, now it gets interesting.After stopping at GF we head back towards the WL and into Ft.Wilderness then we head out thinking that DTD is our next stop...but no!! we pull into Old Key West!! wait 5minutes and no one boards so off we go.....To Coronado Springs!!! then Saratoga Springs!!! and no one boards at these stops either!.Finally we arrive at DTD...45minutes after we had left WL. We get off the bus a supervisor gets on then the driver gets off and a new one gets on, hope the return trip for those that were waiting was a short one.Our trip back was about 25 minutes as we had to stop at Pleasure Island to pick up some folks.

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time 9/30 to 10/7. Is Wilderness Lodge kid friendly? We have a three year old daughter.

Thanks for the report. We will be at WL in August. Have read about the pool not being clean Have you been using it? I am sure we will be spending alot of time there. Not thrilled to hear the recent reports, hopefully this was just one or two posters opinion.

Thanks about the bus info. We will be sure to leave extra time.

we stayed at the lodge last March and the pool, and everything else, for that matter, was sparkling clean...always! Enjoy!
