Hi - We were lucky enough to get the Swan for $79 a night using hotwire. I expected a parking lot view. However, we have a great view of MGM. The Swan is great. The staff is wonderful!!! The room is very nice and the bed is awesome!!! I would not hesitate to stay here again and we will probably do so on our trip next year. I actually like the Swan better than the Dolphin because it is smaller. My only complaint is the $14 charge for valet parking. I think that is high when Disney resorts are only charging $6. But as my DH says, you don't have to use it. If you think $14 is too high, then free self parking is available. I also don't like having to pay $14 here and then an additional $6 to valet park at a Disney resort. I will be glad to answer any questions.

When did you book through hotwire. I have been checking
almost daily and no luck.

Glad you were lucky!

::yes:: I am a Swan fan, too! I'm glad the "magic" is alive for you at the Swan!

I saw your dining post on the restaurant thread so I was hoping I'd see those important little words soon..."Live from the Swan!" Glad you are enjoying your stay! PD for a wonderful vacation!

Sherry--I would highly recommend using Disney transportation to get to other resorts. I'm not really sure where you are going, but I found the transportation from the Swan to be excellent. So glad to hear you are enjoying your stay!! Great rate on Hotwire. I'm tempted to try it myself.

HI all - I don't know about these heavenly beds. It is 3:28 in the afternoon and my DH is snoozing after a round of golf. Hope I can get his butt up to spend the eve in epcot. Swilphil - you are correct about transportation to parks - it is SUPER!!!! But my DH plays golf while we are here and we eat dinner at some of the resorts so a car is almost a must for us. I can't say enough about the resort. It is great. I don't think we will ever go back to the Disney resorts unless the prices here would go sky high then we would probably do a moderate. Wintermom - we actually booked last March or April. There was a thread here on the board where people were getting the Swan left and right and when my DH saw the price he hit the button (I couldn't make myself do it because we always stay on property). But I am glad he took the chance. This hotel is definately worth the $149 they are now charging. Take care all and have a GREAT day. Will report more later.

Hi Sherry.

I've been having a great time reading your posts. We're going to be at the Swan really soon [see countdown clock, which is ticking faster than ever!] and we've never been there before either, so I'm feeling very encouraged.

Thanks for all the great info.

Sherry -

Sounds like you're ready to join us S/D lovers in our sorority. Come on over to dreamflight99's S/D thread and join us in posting our devotion to all things Swan/Dolphin! :teeth:

Glad you are having a great time at the swan too. We became converts in aug with our 3 ds. Better price with govt. disc. then 2 all star preferred rooms. We all loved the grotto pool. That is my question. Have you been in the pool or seen anyone in it. I heard another poster say it was really cold. Just wondering because if we do the mid winter break vacation then that would be a consideration.

Hi Sherry,
Wow, what a great price. We'll be staying at the Swan for the first time in a few days and are looking forward to comparing it to the Dolphin where we stayed last year. You said you prefer it because it's smaller, anything else?

We are back in snowy PA. :( We did not use the pool. I wanted to walk over just to take a look at it and we never even did that. So I am sorry that I can't give you a pool update. I am trying to talk my DH into a long weekend trip in March. :D But if not, in January I will start planning our trip next Dec and for me planning is 1/2 for fun so it will be another GREAT year. Hope you all have a very safeand blessed holiday season and may the magic of disney keep you smiling and feeling young. :sunny:

We'll be at the Swan for the first time 12/28-1/02/04. We have been dvc members since 1994 and have always stayed at OKW, or lately tried BCV. I rented points to another DVC member and am using the money for CL. I'm glad to hear you love it. Hope we will also.

I'm just back from the Swan also. We were there 11/30 - Dec 5th, then 3 nights at CBR.

DS and I went swimming almost every day. The water is fairly warm, getting out is the problem! The sand beaches are heavenly, like the beds! I am an absolute convert. I don't ever want to stay anywhere else again! I got the room for $109 on Hotwire. The beds were wonderful, the service was wonderful, walking to Epcot was wonderful. Enjoying Boardwalk every evening was wonderful.... oh I miss it already!

Hi plutosmyfav - Were you happy with your room and location? We were on the 7th floor in the west wing (i think) - elevator near the concierge & disney ticket window. I can hardly wait to go back. Unless I can talk my DH into giong for a long weekend earlier it will be about a year before we go back too. I am thinking that we will just do the Swan or Dolphin again next year. I love it there!!!!
:D
