Well, I'm here. It's been a long time, but I'm back at the RPR! We just checked in and will be here for the weekend! It is very busy. There are lots of people and the service is still great! We are off to the parks now and then to the pool. The water taxis are not available all day today as Fear Factor is recording (the tv show) in the lagoon. We are able to use the buses and the walkways for today.

Well I will keep you all posted!

Good for you, I just got back from the RPR, stayed 2 nights, Wednesday and Thursday, drove home today.

Yes, it was burning hot during the day, 95 degrees. I don't know what the "feel like" temperature was, but it felt like 110 in the hot painted walk ways. For both days, we went back to our room and watched a movie. I went to the pool, and my feet were burning on the area around the pool because it was so hot. I had to walk quickly, and dip them in the pool, then keep going. I went in the pool, and it felt like a hot tub. But at least it wasn't raining. Our stay was great, had no problems.

I need to start typing up my trip report, so much to talk about.

" hope dennis stays away, good luck !!! will be praying for y'all .

Can you give any details about what FF was doing in the lagoon?

They hung cables from the top of the IOA tower that ran all the way to the boat dock. The people layed down on a carpet like thing under the cables, and flew down. The wife and kid walked up just as it was ending, so I'm not sure if the people were dropping something on a target, or just trying to get down the fastest.

Now that's a ride I'd pay to do. That must have been fun. They took a few pictures of it, I'll post them when I make my TR.

wow..so many of us were just there. i just came back last night too. we were there from the 4th and it was very very HOT! they said that it was 110 degrees in the sun and it definitely felt like it. i stayed at HRH this time and wanted my nephew to see RPR. because of no water taxis, we decided to take the walk. boy was it HOT! :sunny: :sunny: hope you are having a great time!

We all should've gotten our acts together and planned to meet and say hi. I know we probably all kept passing each other!! And you're right, that heat index hovering around 106 was not pleasant. We took in a movie one day just to get out of the heat! Crowds seemed to really thin after the 5th. The Fear Factor thing was "Family Fear Factor" that will be aired on NBC in Nov. There are several segments being filmed over the next few days. The one at the lagoon (which we sat in hot sun for an hour then got drenched in rain for) involved a helicopter (that landed on the bridge by US) dropping a parent (hooked to cable) into City Walk lagoon. They had to swim to a raft and pull a lever which released their kid on a cable from way up the IOA tower down towards the raft in lagoon. Then they had to place a flag on the raft. Shaquel O'NEal was across the lagoon as well as the Fear Factor host. A lot of CityWalk walkways were blocked off and the boats didn't run all day. We lucked out w/AP passes as there was special seating in the grass for us and they came around w/water fans to cool us. The audience was filmed at the beginning by a boat crew floating along in front of us, cheering us on to wave and yell. Hope I can remember to watch it in Nov! They are also supposed to have people walk across a cable strung between the Dr. Doom towers...Monday, I think. Guess they'll close that area for filming.....good luck all that are going to be down there.

My DD princess: loves Fear Factor, Wish we could have seen Fear Factor being taped. That would have made her year!!!

That is so cool that FF was taping in the lagoon. I am Hulk Green with envy! :bounce:
