I'm finally here at the Poly @WDW and we got some real Disney magic. The wife and I are here for our 7th wedding Anniversary and its our first time at a Deluxe (were splitting 13 nights Poly / 4 nights concierege at GF). Anyway we asked for a 3rd floor non smoking room if possible overlooking the marina - we got a 3rd floor room overlooking the GF AND THE CASTLE !!! (Aotearoa) For the past 2 nights we have stood on the balcony and watched the electric water pageant (its currently going on at the moment) and Wishes - as far as we are concerned NOTHING could be a better view.
So far the Dining Plan has been fantastic value - yesterday we ate @ Capt Cooks for lunch ($25) and Concourse Steakhouse for dinner ($108). Great value. Only comment I have about Concourse is we felt rushed - in and out in 45 minutes, main course brought while starters still on table etc etc. Normally I would have said something but to be onest it suited us to get out quickly as we were heading back to see Wishes from our hotel.
Today we had lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express at Disney Marketplace ($26) and dinner at Ohana ! (cant recall the price). Ohana was great - and I have to confess to being a convert - the potatos were great, the meat was perfect and the bread pudding was to die for. As soon as our Cousin saw we were on the dining plan he offered us virgin cocktails (we had already had cokes). We accepted and had 2 Pinna Colladas which were delicious) after which we were embarrased with the traditional wedding anniversary cake. All in all a fabulous experience.
Anyway tomorrow MK beckons and we have adrs for Liberty Tree Tavern (never eaten here). We'll probably have lunch at Pinnochios....
Until later folks !
Colin
