It is probably being sold by the same person who bought up all the shirts to begin with!

I have been following these post since, well ashamed to say, Saturday before the ship sailed. I still have a life and work but I hit the computer when I walk in the door to get caught up and then close it down for the night.

I don't cruise until 9/17/05 and had no problem with the wait until I started reading these post. I wish I were leaving this Saturday and better yet I wish it was a 14 day cruise. I am now getting very anxious waiting for my turn. If money weren't an issue I would pull my daughter from school, fly to CA and take the Magic back home just to say I did it. UGH.

It sounds like everyone is having so much fun. I wish I were there to join you. I know I would not have slept in the hall for a pin but I would have been down there to witness the spectacular scene. KUDOS to those who managed to make it down and get a pin.

I am saddened by the unexpected turn of events for some cruisers. They are in my thoughts. Peace to their family and friends.

I love the post about the guy that had the shirt shipped in .... I wonder if he realized what he started. He is now in business and should set up a thread for orders (if that's allowed).

The one thing that has always bothered me is that some get and some don't with disney. Whether it is with special ad mailings or things on board. No rhyme or reason. Pixie dust some say, I say I never get. But..... I always come back. Oh well.

I hope those on board continue to have a blast and keep the posts coming.

perdita&pongo....thanks for posting that link. It has been interesting to read and I will follow it for the rest of the cruise!

That's amazing that he saw that opportunity and knew how to capitalize on it. I'm wondering if disney won't see this in a little bit of an unfavorable light, so far this whole thing has made them look some what incompetent.
I know this is early to ask but has any one heard what the projected jackpot for the final bingo will be? I can only imagine that it will be pretty large considering this cruise is 14 days long. I've never played bingo while on board but I think I will on the Aug. repo.
Thanks to all who are aboard and feeding our insatiable appetite for news.

What time will the Magic be on in the area of the webcams for the canal? I know we discussed this, but I can't remember. Can someone post?

Thanks.

What excursions on Curacao did you guys do?? Was it any good??

Just to clarify things, he isn't selling the shirts, he is trading them for pins etc.

Its a big difference as far as disney is concerned. (Or at least seems to be).

We did the two tank dive trip. It was outstanding, other then running a good deal longer then expected. (Was supposed to be 8:15 to 12:45-1:00, and we got back to the ship at 3pm).

I heard good things about some of the other tours, and a few (Jeep tour) that didn't run so well. I'm sure Disney will adjust it a bit before the next cruise.

On a different note, the port send off was amazing, Had to be 2000 people lining the channel all waving, and the captain blew the horn at least 7 times on the way out. Definitely a site to be seen.

ROFLOL!!! That is one way to get the pins. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Chuck Maida, President of AllSeasTravel sent out an email newsletter this evening reporting back to us who couldn't make this cruise. I have pasted below an excerpt from the newsletter. I did not include parts that are more about his company than the cruise. Regardless, thanks for the email Chuck.

Except:

This email comes to you from the Internet Cafe aboard the Disney Magic, the most beautiful ship afloat. Today, amid great fanfare, the ship made it's first ever call at the Dutch island of Curacao! It was a very hot and muggy day, which began with a downpour, but the weather never dampened the spirits of the approximately 2000 passengers aboard this historic, 14-night sailing. This sailing represents the longest ever for a Disney ship, and will be Disney's first ever, Panama Canal Crossing.

The crowd on this sailing is not your typical Disney Cruise Line crowd. Since virtually no school districts have summer breaks which began prior to our May 14 departure from Port Canaveral, there are relatively few children on board. We have been told that the teen count is only 57, while the total count of children age 17 and under approximates 350. That's far less than half the number of children aboard the typical Disney Cruise Line sailing, but the children don't seem to mind! I think it has made the teen crowd that much closer. Over 60% of the passengers on board are repeat guests, most of which have sailed on Disney three or more times. There are so many repeaters onboard that Disney decided to hold the party honoring these repeaters in the large, open area on Decks 9 and 10 around the pool, for only the second time ever!

The new menus have been great! As for activities, Disney has gone out of its way to come up with things to keep us busy. My personal favorite has been an unusual, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting. Most of you; especially those who have dined at Palo (the adults only restaurant), would have really enjoyed it. Do you remember a server named Salvatore from Italy? He and his brother Marco (who also is a server at Palo) were the presenters. Salvatore is full of personality (I felt sorry for Marco having to follow him in the presentation). Both presenters bubbled with pride when discussing their country, its products, Palo and the Disney Magic! Their presentation was excellent.

Thank you so much for posting that! We were lucky enough to meet Marco on our 12/4/04 cruise when he returned from an extended leave from the ship. He started back as an assistant server with our favorite server Rudy. He is such a sweet person & doted on the children so much. He said that was the one thing he missed at Palo. His brother was also serving in our rotation. If anyone on the ship now sees Marco at Palo please send our best to him from the Graves family on his first week back on the Magic. We will look him up when we are back this 12/10.

whew!! Reading these posts every night is exhausting!! :flower: Sounds like the trip of a lifetime...so happy to hear how things are going! So how's the evening entertainment been? Any new theme nights in Rockin' Bar D? How about a Country Western night?? How's the cabaret entertainment?? And most important.........HOW'S BINGO!! :earsboy:

I heard there is a new Martini tasting, do we still have Beer tasting and Wine tasting??

Keep those reports coming!! :wizard:

There are beer and wine tastings. I have the martini tasting tomorrow and a tequila & margarita tasting next week sometime.

Tomorrow there is another imagineering presentation about the various Pirates of the Caribbean attractions.

Another day at sea, then comes the Panama Canal of Friday!!! Can't wait to read some more "live reports" about passing through the canal. Have a great day to everyone onboard!!! :teeth: :goodvibes :teeth:

Hi everyone, I'm not going to try to check all of the pages . I don't have that much time. The internet Cafe is always crowded. So many adults. On the Eastbound trip, I was told last night that there are 1200 kids scheduled at this point. WOW!!!! I didn't know that. That will be a problem. Despite the problems, I wouldn't trade this trip for anything. It is nice to not have to worry about any more pin sales. We are headed for the Canal. 6AM right now. Only about six of us here in the Cafe on the net, I assume. Keep seeing more dissers. We are definitely family. This group is super special. Still have to meet some of the gang. Hard to do when there is always something going on. Today, a special treat, told to me by aphoenix. The adults will take over the oceaneer lab at 10PM tonight to PLAY. You know , flubber, fun, fun, fun. Games. Things that apparently only the kids get to do, we will get to do. I guess it is because there are so few kids on the ship.
Kids in the stack also have been given out their own pagers. This is a one time thing because of the lack of kids. It is great. Billy is happy and has been hanging out there constantly. It worked out well even though he is almost thirteen. Not many kids his size. One of his friends is staying in the Walt suite and took him there last night for a look see. Coool. I am sure that things will be different on the return cruise and not as easy going. I suspect that sales of items will be different, due to kid numbers. Palo was good , but I am happier at the main dining. More laid back. Parrot Cay last night and the dancing of the waaiters was great. A conga line and limba dance, A lot of the guests joined in and Played "hot, hot ., hot" for themusic. Fantastic, lots of pictures. Then, went up for the tropical deck party. COOL, Dancing , lots of food, lighted gizmos for you to buy and wear, like glasses.(they blink)if you want . Then the Disney characters. The characters were also at the sail away and waved at the people in Curacao. Traffic came to a stop. It was wild. As we left, we passed Adventure of the Seas. Guess what? Horn contest, us and them. We ended up with 'When you wish upon a star" and they , of course , had no answer. We all screamed. Great to know they will play with us, too. Seas are super smooth all night , amazing. Doesn't seem like I'm on a ship.
More later.
Bill
