Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

Good evening all! A wonderful day on the Disney Magic!

First had a great ocean wrap in the spa, next took my voucher to get my Disney Pin.

Then took my DH to deck 8 forward at 11:50 a.m. and at 12 noon...........

.................................I BLEW THE MICKEY HORN!!!!!

Linda :cool1:

WOW! That is too cool! :cool1: Glad to hear a 10 Day Alumni got the honor. Very cool to say I have actually met someone who....

Whiskers, we here in the state of Florida do not get out until May 27 and return again Aug 8. So we missed both repos

I had sea bass for dinner and a pretty good ricotta creme brulee, in Animators Palate. I thought the lunch buffet was pretty good today, too.

My cabinmate and I are very much enjoying the murder mystery so far. We're going to another meeting tomorrow for clues.

We managed to get an extra blanket and Panama Canal book since we're unrelated persons sharing a cabin.

Tomorrow I am looking forward to the martini tasting and a Palo high tea (not at the same time) and a presentation about being behind the scenes at the Haunted Mansion (the ride, not the movie!)

I don't do pins, but I did get my hands on a nice blue tee shirt the other day. They're all gone now, I think.

Yeah, it's a great big slumber party all right. A few hundred people spending the night on the floor in order to have a chance to buy any of the rest of the limited edition pins for this cruise. This is the worst thing I have ever seen out of Disney. They are releasing ALL the pins at 8 AM tomorrow- so anybody not in line very soon doesn't stand a chance.

Really? Are you kidding, being as it's your first post, are you just joking? :rotfl2: I thought the people camping out for Star Wars were very enthusiastic. :hourglass But I would think that everyone should be able to get these pins. You paid enough money for this two week trip :earseek: - my goodness - give everyone a pin for goodness sake ;) :confused3 I would only hope the line would get all the way down to the sun deck so that I could at least see the sunrise :sunny: and then keep my lounge chair so that I can lay out the rest of the day at sea :dancer: It still sounds like fun!

I do not doubt it at all that people will be sleeping on the floor waiting to purchase pins....I was at the first two official Disneyana Conventions (WDW and Disneyland) and people who paid a whole lotta money to sleep at Disney resorts were sleeping on the sidewalk outside the convention area waiting for it to open up the next morning to get a crack at buying LE merchandise....it was chaotic and out of control. Disney knows people are fanatical about these things...why don't they just make sure everyone sailing on these special itineraries gets a set of pins if they want for Pete's sake....

You've got to be joking about waiting in line all night for a chance to buy a set of the pins.

How nice that dcl has planned a few more things for the cruisers to do. [murder mystery, martini tasting] very cool! :cool1:

Thanks again all who have posted we're loving it.

Ya know... I have had some pretty darn good times camping out all night for concert tickets... I could see how camping out for pins could be fun, and if I was there, and DH let me... I would be camping out too... but I would also be talking up a storm with everyone else.

Yeah, I can understand the camping out for concert tickets, I've done my share of the Jimmy Buffet camp out stuff, that was fun... but I didn't pay $10,000 at the least to have to camp out for anything :confused3 They should give everyone a pin/pins or whatever for the price these cruisers are paying for this limited edition of everything! :earseek:

I'm hoping we are "speaking too soon" and there will be pins given out on the last evening to all cruisers.....I'm hoping so :rolleyes1

this is getting out of control sleeping in line to get pins. I think the staff is going to be ready to turn the ship around before you even get to LA. Well if pins are you thing so be it this is your vacation. Myself I am not into pins rather spend the day doing cruise crafts or napkin folding. It sounds like everyone is having a wonderful time. With only 300 kids the staff is having it :rotfl: easy our cruise will keep them on their toes I am sure we will have $1000 kids on the June 25 cruise of all ages. I know my dd and her kids are looking forward to it. The are not such a big cruise addicts like myself but I know we are going to have a great time when our time comes. So keep the reports coming I can't tell you how much I am enjoying them. And keep having a wonderful vacation. :rotfl:

Thanks to all of you who are posting reports about the cruise. It's fun to read about the exciting things you're doing. :)

I'd like to send my deepest condolences to the family and friends who have lost a dear one. A big hug to you and prayer for strength.

I agree, but unfortunatly the news made it to the disboards anyway, and speculation was beginning. I am putting an end to it. If they were a friend of yours, you will know already.

I didn't make the annoucement, and in fact am disappointed that it was made. The problem is, this is not the forum for such discussion. I have already spoken with the remaining people on board and they have stated that they will make an announcement to the disboards when the time is right for them. This is *THEIR* right and no one here should speculate until that moment comes. All I can say to everyone back home is to wait until that time. Its unfortunante, but if it was your mother or father or aunt or uncle who passed, you'd want the same thing. The posting on the Cruisetober thread was wholly inappropriate, contained nothing but speculation, and did nothing but cause panic among disboarders wondering if it was thier loved one. Please trust me, as someone who was there and has spoken to the members of the sailing party that stayed behind, those who need to know, have been informed, and they will inform this community when the time is right.

This is also my last post on this subject. I'm a former (Not that you ever really are former) EMT, and I'm on vacation. I'll do what I need to when pressed, but I think we all need to move on from this subject. Do not hesitate to post condolences, they have been seen and are appreciated, but please stop with any other speculation or requests for information.
Chill out.

The DIS board is mostly made of funny, caring, Disney loving members - We may not know each other as deep close friends, but there are some here that I truly do care a lot about - To find out we have lost a member is not only devasting, but heartbreaking. Please know that my sympathy and prayers are with the friends and family.

We had a wonderful formal night last night! It was so wonderful seeing everyone dressed in their finest!! I almost wish every night was formal night...key word here is almost! It would be hard to pack formal gowns for 14 nights!!

I can't wait to see the pictures, too. We had dinner at Lumiere's and it was such a wonderful setting!

I'm at least glad to see Disney is releasing special pins for the cruise. On the 10 day they dropped the ball. No special "first planned 10 day cruise" or "first stop in st. lucia" pins.

I did write that on my comment card on the end of the trip. Should have had more LE special pins for the cruise. Now, would I have camped out to get them? Hmmm....probably wouldn't have even considered it and ended up without them.

How did Seaulater get to blow the horn, etc? Did she ask or was she chosen? Are they the special family of this cruise?

Just heard from Pete and Jenn and they said the line for the pins is the entire length of deck 3, and that people were camping out all night to get a place in line. Sounds like there will be some stories to tell about this event!!!

First - My condolences to the family that lost a loved one and to all their friends onboard.

Second - Thank you all for the live updates! I hope everyone is having a great time! :cool1:

And finally, a silly question - Has there been any word on whether you guys will get to see the last two episodes of Lost onboard? I'm not one to spend my cruise time watching TV, but I would hate to miss that show.

Karen - you are right we got a little shortchanged in that department. Didn't get a special CC gift either. I was really hoping for the throw that the other cruises that went to Antiqua that year got. But we made up for it with great DIS friends.

As for the pins - I'd be out there. I've done overnight lines before (Star Trek conventions, King Tut). It would be fun once. Glad to see they decided to release all the pins at once. Makes the most sense - i would think any pin collector would want the whole set.

Talked with Danielle (Internet manager and cruise sales), and apparently everything on the ship is installed to allow wireless internet access with your own laptop. I don't know what the holdup is, but she stated it should be very very soon. She apparently is hearing a lot of guest feedback regarding this, and hopefully it will get rectified. It's merely a matter of flipping the switch now.

On a different note, the internet cafe computers have been having a very VERY difficult time. I know she has reformatted the computers at least twice throughout the cruise already. Apparently the company that provides access, recently locked the system down a little more, and that change is causing all sorts of crashing problems.

And to think, I came on board to get away from fixing computers.
