Good evening all! A wonderful day on the Disney Magic!
First had a great ocean wrap in the spa, next took my voucher to get my Disney Pin.
Then took my DH to deck 8 forward at 11:50 a.m. and at 12 noon...........
.................................I BLEW THE MICKEY HORN!!!!!
It was a blast! Captain Thord Haugen was wonderful. Then tonight when I returned from dinner had a Magical Moment Certificate on my bed signed by the captain, dated today, with my name and my Magical Moment from blowing the Mickey Horn at noon!
Made my day!
Anyway, also in our stateroom tonight was a special commermorative book from
DCL
"Portrait of the Panama Canal by William Friar"
Disney Cruise Line (and the logo on cover also) Commemorating the 1st Passage of the Disney Magic through the Panama Canal May 20, 2005
I think that is word for word on the front cover. Along with that was a note from the Captain with his signature thanking us for being on the Magic and the gift that we received tonight for the book.
So that was our "surprise" for the day!!
The Progressive "Disser" was a tour (by dis board members only who had signed up before we got on board) of the different stateroom categories and what those different categories looked like. There were about 50-60 of us touring rooms and we started on deck 1 and worked our way up to deck 8. It was fun. We were able to see a couple of the navigator verandah rooms as well as two of the handicap accessible rooms on the aft. In addition, we were able to see 2 of the category 3 rooms and they were absolutely wonderful. So all in all we were able to see categories 3-12. We did this because many people wanted to see different staterooms. 3DAN hosted this event and did a wonderful job.
Another thing we did today (which I did not attend so can't give specifics) is there was a get together for our "entrepreneurs" from the thread who were on the cruise.
Then this afternoon we had a wonderful wine tasting party hosted by
Dreams Unlimited! Thanks to Webmaster Regina, they went above and beyond in hosting our party and provided more than we ever expected! KUDOS TO DREAMS UNLIMITED!
The Captain came on about 4:00 pm as we passed the east side of Cuba and we followed the country down. He again stated that we were only 1.5 miles away from shore (now he didn't say nautical or not, so you pick). You could easily spot Cuba. I know when we were on the 10 day Christmas Cruise we were not this close. At the end of Cuba we were going to turn inward and start heading towards Curacao! We were in the wine tasting at 4:30 p.m. so I am not quite sure when the turn towards Curacao actually occurred.
Okay, Golden Mickeys happening now and then there will be a big After Party in the Atrium and then they are doing a big golden balloon drop at 10:30 and the festivities are to continue after that.
This is the first time I have been in the internet cafe and every chair has not been filled!
Oh- and on the Christmas Cruise there were over 1,100 kids on board (Brett the cruise director told us that at that time). He said there were also approx. 1,100 at that time booked on the August Repo and about 500 on the May repo. Obviously that number changed. I heard from a CM today there are 450 kids on board, however, they must be hiding out because at noon there were only 14 kids in the Mickey Pool!
The dining room rotation we are on (Main PLA) has mostly been full. There are a couple of tables empty each night. I am guessing most of the kids are on APL and that's why we aren't seeing them during dinner time.
Okay, that's my update for the day! Can't believe another Magical day has almost ended!
Linda
