Good morning everyone! We are out on our first day at sea which looks to be a beautiful day! So far the cruise has exceeded our expectations! Key West was beautiful....if you have a good 2 hours to spend, take the Old Town Trolley to see the whole island. And ladies, you must visit Kinos and buy some of the sandals made right there in Key West...only $8.00 a pair and they are soooo cute!
Our servers Jeevan (India) and Jean (France) are wonderful. They are very personable and great with the kids! We are looking forward to brunch at Palo's in an hour or so and then formal night tonight!
If you have any questions for me, please ask....I'l probably be on later this evening. Tomorrow is Stingray City and Wed. is the Fury catamaran in Cozumel. I'll fill you in!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post.
Wanna know everything you are doing - and
any recommendations you may have. We
were planning on taking the trolley and where
is Kino's - can you walk there - any excuse for
a new pair of sandals! HAVE FUN!

Thanks for the Kino's tip. That's the first time I heard of that one. I like buying items specific to each area. You liked the Trolley Tour over the Conch Train Tour. Did you get off the trolley or stay on the entire time? The Conch Train is the "more touristy" of the two tours since it was the original, but doesn't let you off at lots of stops. I'm torn between the two. Did you do the Key West Aquarium or the Shipwreck Historeum?

Have fun!
Tina :)

I'm glad that you are having such a good time. I can't wait to be there in a couple of weeks!

Good morning again from the Magic! We are docked in Grand Cayman and it looks like another beautiful day. We will be doing the Stingray City tour with Captain Marvin so I'll fill you in on that later!
To answer some questions...yes, Kino's in only a block from Mallory Square. Ask a local for direction...everyone knows where it is! We chose the trolley over the train because the train only tours the historical part of the island, the trolley tours the whole island! Roddy was our driver...what a great guy!
Yesterday's day at sea was very relaxing...lots of eating and laying on those wonderful deck chairs on deck 4. If you have the opportunity, do not miss Palo's brunch. We got in line for reservations at 12:50 on Sat. morning and by 1:00 I was out of there with brunch and dinner ressies. Ask for Louise...she was an absolute gem of a server. She is the trainer for all the Palo servers and works exclusively in that restaurant. All of her tips were right on. We had an incredible sweet corn and asparagus soup...sweet pizza was fabulous....everything was amazing! OK enough adjectives!
The ship is full but the only place you really notice it is around the pool and since our kids are teens we don't spend much time there.
Yesteday we also attended the captain's reception for Castaway Club members. If you are a return cruiser you will receive an invitation when you check in. We had lots of hors de vorse and free drinks...I think they were Mai Tai's. Captain Henry gave a little speech and that was about it. He did say that they are exploring other options for future cruises and that they will be an annnouncement about that by the end of this year.
Formal night was fun...really anything goes as far as attire. We saw everything from formal gowns and tuxes to shorts..UGH!
Well, we need to get ready for our swim with the stingrays! Fill you in tomorrow!

It sounds like you are having so much fun! I'm green with envy :bounce: !

 Sounds like you are having a great time. Let us know how Capt Marv's works out for you. We go Feb 01 and we want to take our adveturous DD who will be almost 5 then. DCL is strict on the age of their excursions and so I was thinking of booking an excursion on our own.

Do you think a young child would be ok swimming with the Stingrays? Our DD has not fear of anything so far??? Sometimes I think that is a bad thing:confused: !!!

Enjoy the rest of you trip!!! 8 more months to go!! Woo Hoo!!!

Sounds like your having a magical time! Thanks for the input on the trolley verses train. If we rent bike (hubby doesn't want to) then we'll do the train since we'll see the island via bike, but if no bike tour of the island, then we'll do the trolley. I just like the looks of the silly Conch Train (touristy).

What are you going to do in Cozumel?

Interesting news about the announcement of a new ship/itinerary by the end of the year.

Have fun!
Tina

They were our servers on the 6/8 Magic. We had table #22. Tell them "The Chocolate Lover From Tampa says HI!"

Hahahahahahaha

:earsgirl: :earsboy: Thanks for the tip on the Surreal. I've been trying to decide if I want to do it or not. No partner though, so I'd have to go it alone. Think it's still worth it by myself??

Any other cool tips or experiences. Would love to hear them all!!
:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Well, technically, yes, you could do it alone.......but I think it is more fun with someone you KNOW really well.;)
