Live from the Boardwalk!!!

That cake is awesome. We will be celebrating my mom's birthday when we go in December - if you don't mind me asking where did you order it from as I would love to get the exact same one for mom. Enjoy the next two days and just know you'll be back soon.

Linda, your cake is awesome! :)

I have a question, they gave you a bday gift?:confused3

Yes! Disney has been running this promotion "what are you celebrating" and one of the things they said was "register" for your special event. So I actually "registered" for my birthday. I had a choice of either:

1. One day entry to park of my choice
2. Fast pass for the entire day at a park of my choice

And if you already had a park pass (annual etc) the choice was a Gift card worth the price of a one day park pass ($75)

You have to bring your registration receipt and proof of your birth on your birthday to any guest services and collect your "gift". I have an annual pass so I opted for the gift card.

It was really nice.

I'm glad you like the cake. It's delicious!!! I actually ordered it through WDW Birthday Cake Hotline and I don't have the number now, but if you can wait a day or two I'll get it. Or you can check on the Restaurant Board here and look for the Bday Cake Thread.

It's a white cake, with a bavarian cream and fresh strawberries in the center and whipped cream frosting. They say it's easier for them to decorate when it's whipped cream. Then I asked for a nice picture of Mickey and they did the rest. It actually was made in the Boardwalk Bakery and room services delivered it. You can have it chocolate if you want, but they'll give you all the options.

Yes, 2 days left :sad1: and a long wait till I get back. ;)

Friday; my last day at my beloved Boardwalk. :earsgirl: When I saw the DME envelope on the floor by the door the reality set in; we're going home.

DH loved Le Cellier yesterday!! I mean he's already asked if we're coming back to that restaurant next year!! Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The wait was long; close to 30 minutes after check-in! I over heard a conversation at the front where they were completely booked for the next "two weeks"!! Now I understand why it's so difficult to get a ressie here.

After eating we went into the MK via the monorail system. Took a ride "around and around" for awhile. :rotfl: Got off at the Poly for "old times sake". I got engaged there some 30 years ago so we always like to go there. Had a Dole Whip in Captain Cook's and then over to the MK we went. Did a couple of rides we missed earlier in the week, and ended our MK visit with a stop in the Watch store on Main Street and I bought myself a new watch as a birthday present to me! Nice Citizen Eco Watch with Mickey on the side. It runs off of "light" with a battery back up. That's it...no more spending!!!

Today I'm off to the pool and then it's where ever we head!!!

I'll be back on tonight to give you the final run down ;) and then it's back to New York!!!

Have a magical day everyone!!!:tinker:

Friday afternoon - warm today but still lovely. Went to DTD for lunch after my morning pool visit, then over to the MK for the Celebration Parade. Now, alas, I'm back and I think I'll begin gathering up our stuff and pack later. This way if we want to go into Epcot later I won't have to deal with the packing. Some clouds today; even had a quick thunder storm earlier. I think we're in for more rain later. Here's a nice shot of the parade and then I'll sign off for now.

Well, it's Friday night and we're all packed. DH wants to get the laptop ready for tomorrow so this will be my last "Live from the Boardwalk" report. I hope you all enjoyed sharing my vacation and birthday with me! :flower3: I enjoyed sharing it with you all. I know I always enjoy reading about everyone's trip while I wait for my next one. ;)

More showers this afternoon sent me running for cover but it really felt good! I think I saw some showers in the forecast for next week; hope they pass Orlando for those heading down.

I guess that's it! The next time I "see you all" I'll be back home in New York wondering how my vacation went soooooo quickly!!

Bye everyone.....see you later. :wave2:

:tinker:

Love the parade picture. I haven't seen this parade at MK.
I can't travel for a while and your report helped get me through until I can. Thanks for taking the time to post. Safe trip home!

Hi Linda! Happy belated Birthday! Thanks for sharing your trip! I really enjoyed reading this. Have a safe trip home.

Well thank you! I wish I could say "I took it" but my husband took all the shots. He has a new Olympus camera and absolutely loves it. I have a few of the boardwalk that he took at dusk that are out of this world. If I can later I'll post some.

I already miss that place. :sad1:

Saturday - back in New York. Well, we're home. While it's wonderful to see our 19 yr old son and 14 yr old pug "Roxie" I do miss the Boardwalk.

The flight home was uneventful; thankfully ;) and the sun "was" shining. I just looked out the window and it's raining!!!

I had such a wonderful vacation and I totally enjoyed sharing it with all of you.

Now, I'll unpack and get back to the "real world" and start planning my next trip to Walt Disney World. I have a couple of other nice shots I'd like to share and I'll do that tomorrow.

Night....:flower3:

Thanks again for taking the time to post a live trip report. I will try to do this in December. It has been so rainy here in NY this month that seeing your pics with sunshine at the Happiest Place on Earth really did make me :).

Thank you for the b/d wishes! I don't know WHAT type of weather we're having here in NY but it's definately NOT summer!! It was unusually hot last week but as the went came to an end it got more in line with typical June weather. Sure do wish I was back there; heat or no heat!!! ;)
