I didn't see the post about Caroline until long after I had posted the my previous one. (I swear, my DD's older PC seems to 'skip' posts, as I'll notice posts on our laptop that I didn't see on hers. )

I will include her in our nightly bedtime prayers. I cannot imagine any pain more devastating to parents, than that of a seriously ill child. I would endure it myself instead, if I could. ,

Thank you for sharing. We'll be praying for her as well.

Thanksgiving 07? Kim HATES the Western but maybe by then she'll realize the 2 days at CC is worth it!!!

Momma says we're staying home for Thanksgiving this year... but 07??? Hey, we may be in!!! I'm anxious to see what Summer '07 has in store. From the sounds of it, we could probably do two seven day'ers for the price of a Med. I'd love for the itenirary to change for T-day 07.

Willie, I've been selling off DVC points like a Lamparski downin' beers!! Sold a contract on ebay last week, got another for sale now. We decided to only keep what we'll use at WDW.

2007 is wide open for us. Since we normally sail in July or August and it would appear the Magic is going to Europe over the summer we don't have any plans (yet) to sail in 2007.

Funny thing, everytime the Magic goes away over the summer it throws a wrench into our normal sailing plans.

One of the reasons we were on our first Turkey cruise was because the Magic went to CA. In retrospect it all worked out well and we got a chance to meet some very nice folks.

Do you guys remember a friend of mine from here in Lumberton that was going to sail with us, but had to back out? He posted under the name Manley5. His name is Hershel. He has a daughter that is 12 and the cruise was to be a celebration of her remission from leukemia. Her name is Caroline. And she is DD Erin's friend and soccer team mate.

If they had been able to cruise with us, you guys would have loved this family.
Caroline was first diagnosed when she was 4. Went thru two years of treatment, and was in remission for 5 years. then relapsed, went thru 2 more years of treatment, finishing last August.

Unfortunately, she is back in Houston getting chemo. They are trying to arrange a bone marrow transplant.
I only post this here because Hershel was a DIS member and would have been a Turkey with us. And if even one more person adds a prayer, it would help.

Hi everyone!! We just returned from a week of skiing in Colorado. Actually, Chuck and Mason skied. I complained about the cold and the snow!! I would have much rather been on a DCL cruise!!

Willie-we send our thoughts and prayers to Caroline.

We are currently booked for the 10 day holiday cruise this December and we also already booked for the 2007 Thanksgiving cruise. We would love it if it became a turkey day gang reunion!!

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. The Manleys have been through 8 years of the worst. And now when things are darkest for them, they are the strongest they have ever been. The many people that pray for them can be the only answer. Faith is so powerful.
We had dinner at their house last spring and they saw all of our pictures and video from the Thanksgiving 2004 cruise. Hershel called and booked while we were there. They were excited to get to meet all of the Turkeys, and felt like they knew everyone from hearing us talk, and lurking here on the DIS. Hershel began posting a little.
But when Caroline relapsed, they had to cancel. I wish you all had gotten the chance to know these folks.

Regarding the 2007 Thanksgiving cruise. -
We really did not get to do the Western in 2005. We missed Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I would not mind giving those two another visit. I really would like another shot at a DIS Group private charter on Grand Cayman. That was gonna be great fun. (And a tip of the hat to Doogs for setting it up.)
So I guess the intinerary is not the most important thing to me. I am easy to please. Just give me a good beach, cold beer, and good friends, and I am in heaven. Oh yes, and maybe a book to pretend to read while I nap.
So, yes, I am looking closely at being a Turkey again, maybe in 2007.

What is everybody doing for this Summer? Anybody got special vacations lined up to share with us?

Willie, I've kept your friends in my prayers the last two nights. I'm a huge believer in the power of prayer. My mother was very spritual (not in-yo-face religious) and had an influence on my beliefs.

I'd love to get do an Eastern in w/ everybody; but if I had my choice between the itenerary and the company, I'd choose the T-day'rs guys!!!

We're headed to BWV this summer, Atlantis for a week and northern Wisconsin fishing. Spring break starts Thursday... staying home ;( .

Hey TCD.....yep, it doesn't look like we can sail before x-mas.....got a bit of a "promotion" at work....you know more hours and less $$$$ and the other Mgr. has the wekk off so I have to switch....looks like we'll be sailing the week AFTER Thanksgiving....East!

Tell Lincoln that I am taking Hayley bass fishing up on Lake Sam Rayburn this weekend. We have a cabin rented and the spinnerbait bite is red hot. If we catch a nice one, I will post a pic. Where are you guys headed in Wisconsin? You should head down here to East Texas instead! We have gret bass angling on Rayburn and Toledo Bend Lakes.

Hayley has her drivers permit now and I will have her drive me around all the time. There is not alot of traffic up at the lake, so she should get lots of drive time.

Lamps did I tell YOU about Hayward!!??? I know when we were sitting by the pool watching T-day football; we discussed a lot of stuff and Doogie was feelin' fine... but Hayward?!! Yeah, we're heading "near" Hayward. End of July. Been there most every year since I was born. It's like home. You been there?
