oH yA!! tOP Oh SoRry wrONg thReAD..... :rotfl2:

Hey Ron- My kids' spring break is the last week of March this year too. We are going to haul the camper over to Ft. Wilderness at WDW for the week. Why don't you hitch up your trailer behind the 'vette and join us? The weather will beat Chicago's :sunny:

If you can't make it then, then take a look at next Thanksgiving. We are probably going to camp then too!

Kris, I know that you have a camper too, and I think there were a few more Turkeys who had campers/RV's.

I can't believe you are still at it with this thread.

We are scheduled for a 3 day wonder cruise on March 9th. 2 days at the parks on either side.

Plus allot of running around in reference too our new home in Florida.

Yes, we bought a home in Lakeland, Florida. We probably will move in sometime beginning of June at the latest. Then its start to build our dream home (geo-desic dome) in North Polk County.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Super Bowl tomorrow. Party time. :cheer2:

Anyone going to be down at WDW between March 7 & 14 th. Maybe we can meet for a drink :drinking1 some where.

Kennyk

Hey Kenny!

Why can't you believe that we are still at it on this thread?

You were there with us, so it shouldn't be hard to believe at all!

I will be at WDW for the last week of March- will you be around then at all.

We still need to post a photo of your shark! Do you have it on a j-peg file? You could e-mail it to one of us, and we could get that thing posted.

There has to be much to say about this thread if even the 10-day Christmas cruisers still prefer to post on this thread instead.

I occassionally look at cruisecritic message boards for our RCCL spring break sailing. :surfweb: BOR-ING! :bored: A few weeks ago I posted on the meets thread, and while they were nice, (it's mainly wives and moms who post, nothing wrong with that, as I'm one myself) it's such a 'let-down.' No jokes about Miller Lite and Bon Jovi contests, no pictures, no one-liners, etc. :eeyore: I might not even post there anymore. We're going with some neighbor friends, so we will have company. (Still wish we were sailing with all of you! :earsgirl: )

To heck with the vette, I want that cute little vehicle that's pulling it! What is it? Please don't say dune buggy. Rob had one many years ago, and I had a celebration party: when he sold it!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ron- You kill me! I was only kidding about pulling a camper with a 'vette, and here you are actually considering it!

BTW- Who is the Steelers fan in this photo?:

HPIM0288.jpg

I'm thinking somebody had a lot of beer cans to clean out of his trailer this morning. Is he a relative of yours? This guy is great! He's got it all figured out, and his team won! :woohoo:

So what are you waiting for- get the trailer- put a hitch on the 'vette (I would love to see who would do that for you), and drag that thing to Florida at the end of March!

Priscilla- I would say that looks like a dune buggy to me. Poor Rob- why does he have to get rid of all his toys? You ought to get him one of these set-ups and then you guys can come camping too. :rotfl2:

Hey Old Route 66 runs though our town. If you decide to do it, let us know.

Rob doesn't have to get rid of ALL of his toys. (Even though I wish he'd part with more, so we could get two cars in our garage.) But you should have seen that dune buggy. ...'you might be a redneck if..' I'm not kidding when I say I used to stay inside of the house whenever he'd 'fire it up,' in our driveway. :rotfl2: And ME? Camping? It's not a vacation for me if I don't have maid service, clean sheets, running water, a thermostat, and a place to plug in a blow-dryer and lighted make-up mirror. I thank God for Rachel. She loves to do all of that 'outdoorsy' stuff with Rob. :moped:

Priscilla- You and Mrs. TCD are kindred spirits. She loves it when I take the girls camping. We almost always go to Ft. Wilderness, which is about a 2 hour drive from our home. Mrs. TCD will usually drive over the day after we arrive, and everything is set up, and spend one night, maybe two, and head back the next day. That's all the camping she can handle. So, get Rob a dune-buggy and a camper, and send him and Rachel on over. You can stop by for a visit, or just spend the night over at the Grand Floridian.

TCD

Andrew-My family used to go camping when I was very young a lot. We had several campgrounds near my home in Sarasota. We would spend a weekend at one of them about every 6 weeks or so. Some of the best times growing up. I love camping, Maria.....well, she would like to try it once.

Kenny-That's great to hear that you are joining the population in FL. Hope everything works out.

Ron-Yes, as scary as it is to a father, your daughter is getting older.

Charlie

Thank you Charlie, for posting! :)

No news here, but I noticed the past couple of days that our thread was 'slipping.' If no one else had posted, I was going to so we could keep it going. Maybe if we make it the longest-running thread we'll all win a reunion cruise! :lmao:

Lampy, 5J's and Willie, if you're now posting on the Holiday cruise thread, you must post here as well. ::yes::

Rob, Rachel and I will soon be sailing Explorer of the Seas (in four weeks, spring break.) I'll be sure to post here with a report, how it didn't come anywhere close to DCL. No rotational dining, no Palo brunch, no Mickey for me to hug, no pirate night, worst of all..no Turkey Day cruisers! (I doubt they'll have any cruisers get up on stage at 'their' version of Rockin Bar D, dancing to 'YMCA,' dressed as the Village People. :sad2: ) Gee, why are we going? LOL! (Hoping our neighbors will enjoy their first taste of cruising, and maybe, just maybe, we could talking them into sailing Disney next time.)

Oh, and for those of you who've enjoyed the Romance at Sea package on DCL (for 339.00,) RCCL wants 770.00! It includes Dom Perignon champagne (I'll drink 'cheaper' champagne, thank you) canapes and petit fours every evening in your stateroom (I'd rather go get hors d'ourves outside Rockin Bar D,) chocolate-dipped strawberries, 8 x 10 silver-plated frame with one pic, 2 terry robes (wouldn't that be fun to pack two new bulky items into already-overstuffed luggage for the trip home?) and breakfast in bed for two. (I don't know if it's a 'fixed' menu?)

Not trying to be negative here, I'm just absorbing the shock! No, we're going to pass on their version. We get what we pay for on DCL, right? (Their soda mug is 42.00 for adults, 28.00 for kids. We'll bring our own Dr. Pepper.)

Did someone say CAMPING?

I gotta tell y'all that staying in a climate controlled travel trailer is not even close to camping! You guys come down here this July, and I will show you some camping. You guys are not alergic to mosquitoes, are ya?

It was on a camping trip I took as a boy when I accidentally touched a timber rattler. I leaned up against a tree with my hand, and he was climbing the tree. My hand hit him right on the back. Being young and quick, I dodged his strike, then chopped his head off with an ax. Then went and unloaded my underwear.

Camping? If there are no rattlesnakes, alligators, wolves, coyotes, bears or hosts of insects to play with, it just ain't camping! And it has to be at least in a tent. No metal walls. No electricity. No TV.

Kelli and I are headed to Austin this weekend. No, not camping!

Sorry Willie, my idea of roughing it is yes, making sure I know where the remote is for the thermostat, making sure that there is a clear shot south east for my sattellite dish.....actually I sometimes use a charcol grill and put Ice in a cooler!! :rotfl2:

You're a better sport than I am Maria. Any time Rob mentions how he'd like to go camping I (sweetly, to soften the blow) tell him, 'have fun, you'll need to tell me all about it when you get back.'
