OK, back to the reason for this thread. Disney cruising. Did anybody check out the thread that Buddybear started about the Magic going to the Med? I posted there that France will not get my vacation money, and brother it started a,.... it started a,...... well what is a French word for a bunch of liberals trying to say that the U.S. is just as bad as France, the French are great people, ignorant, inbred Americans insult the French on the ships, blah blah blah...... Gosh, I have never heard so much whining.

Then Moderator Sue Ellen posted to just talk about the subject, not politics....But don't y'all think that the politics of a country should be considered when you are thinking of GOING there?
I have met many French people that I thought were terrific. But brother, their country's stance on terrorism sucks. And I would not want to spend my vacation dollars there, beautiful country or not.

Or am I just a red neck, ignorant American? (With a kid brother in Iraq)

I agree 100% that the politics of a country should be considered when thinking of vacationing there, and I was VERY annoyed when the that thread was advised to 'stay with topic.' Sorry, I think it was important to the topic.

No, you're not a 'redneck, ignorant American.' I think many people here agree with you.

BTW, I have 'the Redneck cookbook' by Jeff Foxworthy, as well as his autobiography. Being Redneck is good in many ways!

i go to photobucket and try to cut and paste but when i get to paste dis boards says my post contains one or more urls and dis requires a minimun number of posts before allowing the posting of urls..whatever THAT means.

My nephew's wife sent this to me today and I couldn't think of any folks who might enjoy this more than a bunch of old turkeys.

Important News..... From Santa Claus:

I regret to inform you that, effective immediately, I will no longer serve the States of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas on Christmas Eve.

Due to the overwhelming current population of the earth, my contract was renegotiated by North American Fairies and Elves Local 209. As part of the new and better contract I also get longer breaks for milk and cookies so keep that in mind.

However, I'm certain that your children will be in good hands with your local replacement, who happens to be my third cousin, Bubba Claus. His side of the family is from the South Pole.

He shares my goal of delivering toys to all the good 'ole boys and girls; however, there are a few differences between us.

Differences such as:

1. There is no danger of the Grinch stealing your presents from Bubba Claus-He has a gun rack on his sleigh and a bumper sticker that reads: "These toys insured by Smith and Wesson."

2. Instead of milk and cookies, Bubba Claus prefers that children leave an RC cola and pork rinds [or a moon pie] on the fireplace. And Bubba doesn't smoke a pipe. He dips a little snuff though, so please have an empty spit can handy.

3. Bubba Claus' sleigh is pulled by floppy-eared, flyin' coon dogs instead of reindeer. I made the mistake of loaning him a couple of my reindeer one time, and Blitzen's head now overlooks Bubba's fireplace.

4. You won't hear "On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen," when Bubba Claus arrives. Instead, you'll hear, "On Earnhardt, on Andretti, on Elliott and Petty."

5. "Ho, Ho, Ho!" has been replaced by "Yee Haw!" And you also are likely to hear Bubba's elves respond, "I her'd dat!"

6. As required by Southern highway laws, Bubba Claus' sleigh does have a Yosemite Sam safety triangle on the back with the words "Back Off."

7 . The usual Christmas movie classics such as "Miracle on 34th Street" and "It's a Wonderful Life" will not be shown in your negotiated viewing area. Instead, you'll see "Boss Hogg Saves Christmas" and "Smokey! and the Bandit IV" featuring Burt Reynolds as Bubba Claus and dozens of state patrol cars crashing into each other.

And Finally,

8. Bubba Claus doesn't wear a belt. If I were you, I'd make sure you, the wife, and the kids turn the other way when he bends over to put presents under the tree.

Sorry guys, I've been swammped since we got home. Just got back from trip to Philly. brrrrrrr. I had a lot of catching up to do. This thread is great. I wish we could do X-mas 06.

I got 16 hours of 2005 Tour de France DVDs in the mail last week. It put the Med '07/TDF vacation plan in my noggin' !!

Abel- When you are on photobucket, highlight the file name in the box next to the letters "Img", then copy that file name and paste it in your post. When you hit submit, it will turn into your photo. Try that, I don't think that you need a minimum number of posts to use this method.

I didn't know you had a brother in Iraq. I will be seeing my kid brother (US Navy) this weekend for the first time in about six months. These men are fighting to protect your right to say what ever you want to say about the French or any one else who wants to mess with the U.S. of A.
