the5Js----We are dying to hear what happened with your son. You are leaving us hanging here.

All I know is. I do not know any of you but you are having way to much fun. I want to go with a bunch of wild fun DIS people like you. Who is your cruise staff? (Renee, Ang, Gary, Jesse, DJ........)

Enjoy!!!!!

What??? No one from the Dis group has been on here yet to post about what happened at 80's night last night?!

Well, I guess I get to do the honors. It was fantastic! It was unbelievable! It was unprecedented! It was a little scary. The Dis'ers took over Rocking Bar D for 80's night. The Ron Bon Jovi's brought down the house! It was Lampskies (Ron), 5J (John), Doggierunner (Doug), and Wmilller86(Willie) rocking the house. The applause was deafening! The contest was not even close. You will undoubtedly see photos, but this is one case where a photo just will not be able to depict what we who were there live witnessed. It is one of those things that will burned in to our collective memories forever.

Meanwhile, while the adult Dis'ers were bringing home the bragging rights over in Rocking Bar D, the Dis children were enjoying a family 80's night over in Studio Sea. Not many people know this yet, but TCD's DD 10 won the air guitar competition! Do the Dis'ers own this ship or what. Not that anyone is counting, but the TCD family is dominating in the medal count. We are like an old school USSR at the Summer Olympics!

As I type this post, we are docked at Costa Maya. The ship was rocking again last night. It was more of a steady back and forth motion, not as bad as the first night. The weather today is glorious! Bright sunshine, and a bit of a cool breeze. Gamma? Gamma who? That will teach them to name a storm after a greek letter. Enough already!

One of the consequences to not anchoring at Grand Cayman is that we did not pick up our entertainment for the rest of the week. On the first three nights, we enjoyed shows from Gary Delana, the rock and roll comedian, and Rich Pupura, the greatest magician in the world (almost). Yesterday's Navigator originally announced a show by David DiMuzio, a juggler. Well, when we got our revised Navigators, his show dissappeared. I ran in to Rich Pupura yesterday on the elevator, and he said he was supposed to have gotten off the ship at Grand Cayman, and new entertainers were supposed to go on. So, guess what the big show is tonight in the Walt Disney Theatre, at 6:15 and 8:15. Chicken Little! Wow! A movie! Oh well, this is one of those things that happens, and it is fine. We already saw the movie at home before the cruise. It is very good, and it will be fun to see it again. Anyway tonight is pirate night, so we will have plenty of entertainment.

Late last night, the TCD children enjoyed swimming in the Goofy pool and watching the Parent Trap on the big screen. The Goofy pool was a blast all day yesterday because of the seas. It was like a mini wave machine. See? DCL has already beat RCCL to the punch. DCL already has a surfing simulator! All you need is rough seas.

There is more, but I have to go. I have to go drink the water on Mexico. I like to live on the wild side.

TCD

TCD -- thank you so much for the update! I was so anxious to hear about 80s night and I see that the boys did not disappoint anyone!!! I simply cannot wait to see some pics!

Sounds like it turned out to be a great day minus GC anyway! That is fantastic!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The "Ron Bon Jovis' won!!!!!!!!! They all had no chance......80 disers and piped in applause had no chance.....pics comming later......We missed Tiquila Beach but I guess tha wasn't so bad......we did a DCL beachand snorkle and it was really nice......lo0ng bus ride thru the jungle

Sounds like you guys are having a blast. Happy Turkey Day tomorrow!

It sounds like you guys are having a great time. :cool1: Thanks for all the updates. We will be on the 12/3 Magic. We will miss Costa Maya but sounds like you are having a great time. Leave a little beer- well maybe they can replenish the supply by the time we are there.

We're taking DS 18... plan to make sure he does not see the out all night story. Last cruise we set 3 AM as his curfew.

Go Disers

Well, for those of ya'll who haven't seen our Tinkerbell...here he is.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

potluck05001.jpg

I always thought there was more to that photo than what Lampy was letting on....potluck dinner, uh huh... :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear that ya'll weren't able to go to GC! :guilty: I hope Costa Maya was better than ya'll expected though and that you managed to enjoy that extra day at sea!

Hey 5Js...come on!!! What is the scoop with that son? Ya know our DS is 13 now...I need some advice in case he ever pulls an all nighter... :rolleyes1

Chuck and Lisa...have you seen much of that son of yours or has that rodent stand in been doing a good job in his place? ::MickeyMo

Andrew....well, buddy boy, you spilled the beans on Ron, but ya failed to mention which of you DISsers won the Beast Legs and Goofy Legs....so come on do tell!! Surely, Doogie wasn't the Beast? I mean after the stories about his shaved legs? Inquiring minds want to know...

And if ya'll see the other dubba ya, tell him and the family hello! :wave2:

Hope you all have a magical Thanksgiving tomorrow! Ya'll eat a lobster for me and Teresa!! :grouphug: I can't wait to hear all the stories and see your photos....

Well, it has been another great day aboard the Magic today. It is currently 11:51 PM Magic time, but we are heading east, and will be losing an hour during the night.

As I type this post, the Pirates of the Caribbean movie is playing on the jumbotron up on Deck 9. This was our first pirate night. Wow! But, let me start at the beginning.

The day began with a beautiful sunrise as we were docked at Costa Maya. On first view, Costa Maya was much nicer than I expected. We were docked at the same dock with Carnival's Glory and RCCL's Explorer of the Seas. It was crowded in Costa Maya today! As you may have heard, there is not a whole lot to the port area at Costa Maya. Because of the late notice and the predicted weather conditions, we had not booked an excursion. We were planning to take a cab to a beach, but the line for cabs at the port was unbelievable. So, we just walked around the fake village, and then headed back to the Magic.

The weather today was better than perfect! Sunny and warm all day with a great breeze. Very low humidity. The movie on the jumbotron during the day was Swiss Family Robinson. Is it OK to show a movie about a shipwreck on a cruise ship?

We sailed away from Costa Maya a little after 5:30. The seas so far are very smooth tonight.

TCD and DD 10 entered the How Well Do You Know your Family? game in the Promenade lounge. Again, the Dis'ers triumphed. We ended up winning in a three way tie for first.

Pirate night was spectacular. Have you ever seen the pirate dancing contest? Well, we had three Dis men in the contest. Yours truly finished in a very close second place to guess who? Do I hear a Tink? You guessed it, Ron (Lampskies) won the dance contest. Ron, I know that we agreed that what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise, but I can share this news with our fellow Disboards members, can't I? The news is that Ron's dance routine pretty much was a Curly from the Three Stooges number. The host asked him to go and take his medication. But, you have to give it to Ron, he is dominating the dance competitions on the ship.

It was a pretty cool thing to be on the stage under the jumbotron with Deck 9 and 10 full watching the Dis'ers have another blast on this ship.

Thank you all for the Pixie Dust! When we were about to begin this cruise, we were looking at some very bad weather predictions. Instead, we have had great weather every day.

We are now looking forward to Thanksgiving Day at Sea. A lot of fun activities are planned.

Happy Thanksgiving from your friends on the Magic!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Really enjoying the live reports from the Magic!!! :goodvibes

:cheer2: Go DIS'ers Go!!! :cheer2:

So glad to hear all is well. I think we'd like to be on a cruise with the TCD's and other Diser's. Maybe we are lucky to be docking at Nassau rather than Costa Maya.

I had a posting from the Cruise meets side questioning if a DH can walk around the ship with a beer or must he stay in the designated area. Please advise as my DH needs this info also. And since you seem to be the party officials in all aspects, I'm going straight to the source. :rotfl2:

The weather here in Iowa is very windy and cold this a.m. I'm hoping it keeps up while we are gone. Some of the white stuff would be fine too. Everytime we go to Florida, the weather at home is very nice, and I mean in Jan, Feb and March. NEVER FAILS. Then again, our cold winds only mean a trigger for the southern part of the country too.

Enjoy the day and turkey. Best wishes and looking forward to more postings. Is anyone willing to share how to get attachments and tickers on our own personal replies. I have searched and tried. Thanks

Have a wonderful day at Sea - Sounds like you are having an awesome time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you DIS'ers on board the magic. We are flying out tomorrow to board on the 11/26 cruise. Hopefully, the magic will still be sea worthy after you are done with it. Sounds like a great cruise and a fun group. Wishing you calm seas and cold adult beverages.
:cool1:

Hello DIS

Willie checking in here Thursday AM. Happy Thanksgiving!

I have to admit that it was fun winning the Battle of the bands on 80's night. Tonite Ithink we have been invited back for an encore as Village peeps. That could look even worse!

Get Ron to tell you about who was butt nekkid in the hot tub late one night! No, it was not lampy! Thank goodness! He was just an observer. Or is that word "voyeur"?

The Miller family is having fun. The additions to Pirate night were MOST AWSOME!
The Dumbotron and fireworks really were the best!

Gotta go. Don't wanna use my time onboard on computer!

Well, Tink, isn't that what parents are for...to embarass our kids since they probably didn't pull their weight by hauling their parents share of the Miller Lite onboard ship???? :confused3

I can't wait to see a photo of the Tinky Ron, Beasty Andrew and Goofy Doug....oh, please send me the link for those..... :wizard:

It sounds like ya'll are having a fantastic time and I'm glad to hear it! Ya'll are a crazy bunch of DISsers!!! :grouphug:

Enjoy the football today!!! And if ya get a few minutes...ya'll might wanna be practicing those Village People moves....I can see it now...

Dubba W is naturally the Cowboy...Lampy is the the biker dude...Doogie is the construction worker...Teresa's hubby, Mark was last year...Andrew? Could he pull off the Indian? and who'll be the cop? John?

Have ya'll been talking about re-booking yet? Is it gonna be another Turkey Cruise or will ya switch this time?

Well, I'm not so patiently waiting for ya'll to post about the 70's night gig...oh the stories I'm sure to be told....

happy thanks giving to you all out there on the deep sea's
keep the reports coming
and looking forward to seeing some photos

Happy Thanksgiving from the Magic.

It was a magical day today. Thanks to all of you who have been sending the pixie dust. Our cruise director, Brent, told us that today the sea would be like a lake, and it was, all day. Sunny and smooth. What a Thanksgiving.

The football games were shown on the jumbotron up on Deck 9. All of the pools and decks were crowded all day.

No medals for the TCD's today. We were runners up in trivia, and lost a close one in the synchronized swimming competition in the adult pool.

In the morning, we will be in Castaway Cay, again.

The weather is supposed to be great.

Didn't make it to 70's night, so someone else will have to report on that. Lampy was looking for a clean sweep in the dance competitions on board. If you are a betting person, take the bet, Lampy has been a lock the entire cruise.
