Well, it has been another great day aboard the Magic today. It is currently 11:51 PM Magic time, but we are heading east, and will be losing an hour during the night.
As I type this post, the Pirates of the Caribbean movie is playing on the jumbotron up on Deck 9. This was our first pirate night. Wow! But, let me start at the beginning.
The day began with a beautiful sunrise as we were docked at Costa Maya. On first view, Costa Maya was much nicer than I expected. We were docked at the same dock with Carnival's Glory and
RCCL's Explorer of the Seas. It was crowded in Costa Maya today! As you may have heard, there is not a whole lot to the port area at Costa Maya. Because of the late notice and the predicted weather conditions, we had not booked an excursion. We were planning to take a cab to a beach, but the line for cabs at the port was unbelievable. So, we just walked around the fake village, and then headed back to the Magic.
The weather today was better than perfect! Sunny and warm all day with a great breeze. Very low humidity. The movie on the jumbotron during the day was Swiss Family Robinson. Is it OK to show a movie about a shipwreck on a cruise ship?
We sailed away from Costa Maya a little after 5:30. The seas so far are very smooth tonight.
TCD and DD 10 entered the How Well Do You Know your Family? game in the Promenade lounge. Again, the Dis'ers triumphed. We ended up winning in a three way tie for first.
Pirate night was spectacular. Have you ever seen the pirate dancing contest? Well, we had three Dis men in the contest. Yours truly finished in a very close second place to guess who? Do I hear a Tink? You guessed it, Ron (Lampskies) won the dance contest. Ron, I know that we agreed that what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise, but I can share this news with our fellow Disboards members, can't I? The news is that Ron's dance routine pretty much was a Curly from the Three Stooges number. The host asked him to go and take his medication. But, you have to give it to Ron, he is dominating the dance competitions on the ship.
It was a pretty cool thing to be on the stage under the jumbotron with Deck 9 and 10 full watching the Dis'ers have another blast on this ship.
Thank you all for the Pixie Dust! When we were about to begin this cruise, we were looking at some very bad weather predictions. Instead, we have had great weather every day.
We are now looking forward to Thanksgiving Day at Sea. A lot of fun activities are planned.
Happy Thanksgiving from your friends on the Magic!
