Bless me DISers for I have sinned. Due to a lovely evening at Palo with 3/4 bottle of Shiraz, I slept through the Pirate Party. :guilty:

That's all for now...going to ignore the very loud family at the Cove Cafe with their very loud under-18 kids and get some chai tea!

I'm so glad you are having such a wonderful time!! :sunny: Last August when the Pirate night was still fairly new, we basically missed the party too. But now it's at the top of our Must-Do list for next year's cruise :)

And I am horror-stricken to think that they're allowing under-18 kids into the Cove Cafe??!? :scared1: Last year the CMs would barely allow them in the door before telling them and/or their parents, that they were not allowed in. Is this something you've been seeing all week, or just a one-time thing???? One thing that DH and I loved about DCL is the fact that they enforce the adults-only rules in their adults-only areas. :)

P.S. You made me laugh when you described your experience in the Rainforest Lounge... "inner lizard". :earboy2: I didn't get a chance to try the RFL last cruise, but I definitely will next time!

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:
I just wrote a really long report on the Pirate party and movie and got the not logged in screen and poof!
I will try again later.... I am sooo exasuted from yesterday and last night so I really need a day of rest... staying on the ship.... doing nothing!! :cloud9:

I am posting from the cove cafe, have several times, and have not seen any kids in here, just annoying adults. So I think it was a one time thing.

Keeping an eye on Wilma...... :umbrella:

7) Haven't seen John in Mickey's Mates. Our main server in the restaurants is Beckie from Canada, Joseph (may be Joshua..I'm bad with names) from South Africa is assistant, and I have yet to catch the name of our head server, except that it's long and begins with P. ;) Am also falling in love with Travis from cruise staff.

Beckie was our asst server a few years ago, I am so glad she has made it to main server! She was so awesome! I am sure she won't remember us, but tell her that she has fans from the DIS back in New Hampshire... Maybe we will see her in a few weeks when we cruise!!! :cool1:

Thanks for all the updates............keep em coming! Let us know how you do over the next few days.............the weather reports are starting to become tricky...............best wishes for beautiful skies!!! :sunny:

Does anyone happen to know what the onboard booking incentives will be for the 2007 cruises?

if anyone runs into cm blair with a character while onboard please get her email for me and pm me. she gave us a really neat autographed photo of all the characters on our 9/3 cruise and our ds managed to clean all of the autographs off, just wanted to see if we could replace it. thanks.

Thanks for the good wishes. I think the "kids in the Cove" was a one-time thing. I was just so shocked!

We did the Doubloon Sail & Snorkel yesterday in St. Thomas. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! We left the Magic at about 12:15pm...which initially bummed me out because it seemed to cut my day in half. And once we got on the boat (about 40-some of us...lots of wee ones so it wasn't very crowded!) it was pouring rain. Cold rain. Very choppy waves. Some queasy sailors. Prospects looked dim.

But our captain assured us it was typical St. Thomas weather and it would disappear quickly. And it did. By the time we got to Turtle Cove, it was sunny and clear.

Once at the snorkel site, you had to either 'walk the plank' or climb down a ladder to get into the water. I am not a strong swimmer, so despite the various flotation devices I was offered, I chose to remain on the boat and sunbathe while my husband snorkelled.

Some of the kids got back onto the ship pretty quickly -- it's daunting bobbing about in the water when you're small -- so I got a great persepective of how great the Doubloon staff is with kids. The first 2 kids back on board got to help 'make' the rum punch. Which was (hic!) fantastic. The staff was so nice that many parents didnt' feel badly about staying in the water once the kids decided they were finished.

My husband saw sea turtles, lots of coral, and LOTS of fish! In fact, a school of yellow and black fish swam directly under his belly and around his legs while he was floating.

After about 45 minutes, the snorkelers were called back in, and the kids helped raise the sails for the ride back to the island. (We used engines on the way there..sails back due to wind direction). The staff cranked up the music, passed around rum punch (hic!) and chips and salsa, and we partied the whole way back. Everyone got a free pirate tattoo, and the captain let some of the kids help steer the boat. It was gorgous standing on the edge...holding onto the lines...feeling the wind.

We stopped back at their store once we hit land to buy the obligatory cool t-shirts and baseball cap. We were encouraged to take a sharpie and sign anyplace on the store that we wanted -- fixtures, walls, shelves, etc.

We were back on the Magic by 4:15 -- All Aboard was 4:30.

www.doubloon.com Great for adults. Great for kids. Great for chickens who don't jump into 15-foot deep seawater for fun.

We were hungry so we stopped at Pluto's once we got back on board. Then off to the couple's massage (part of REAS package) at Vista. Husband and I had the Spa Taster..so once they were done with our backs, we had a mini-facial.

Afterwards, they tried to sell us some product...which I don't happened at last year's couple's massage. My masseuse also told me I had a some knots (I call one "Wilma" and the other one "Stateroom alchohol bill") and that one product would break down the lactic acid under my skin. Hmmm...I'm not a medical professional...but that sounds weird. We passed on the products.

Because of our late lunch, we weren't hungry for our 8:30 dinner, so we skipped*. Husband and I took over the deserted basketball court for the longest game of HORSE ever recorded. We're internet geeks. We don't do this "sports" thing very well. Walked the decks, enjoyed life, etc.

We're also skipping the Character breakfast* this morning to take advantage of the REAS Champagne breakfast (no champagne though...my liver needs a few hour break)

The Bingo jackpot goes off today. I'll be there. We're still debating booking a Western for this time next year. April and October are usually our vacation months...but Mother Nature is showing her increasing displeasure with October lately. We're supposed to fly Southwest back to NJ Saturday afternoon and we have NO idea what Wilma's going to do.

Oh, and if I see "Madagascar" or "Miracle" one more time on my stateroom TV, I'm going to have a fit.

Maybe more later...

Kim, liking to move it move it. She likes to move it move it...she likes to move it move it...she likes to ... MOVE IT!

*It looks like we skip a lot...but our days are really, truly busy and fun and full.

Thanks for the great post ladygypsy! We appreciate the updates and it sounds like you are having a ball! I am very happy for you! Continued best wishes for the rest of your cruise. :goodvibes

Your days are just like my husband and my days on board prior to having kids. Lots of 'hic' and together time and FUN!

You give a great snapshot into how much fun you are having - continue to have that much fun and don't think about the end - just savor the time.

Now if perdidobay can take just one more free moment to tell us about pirate night - I will be a satisfied customer of these live trip reports.

You both are wonderful to do this for us.

Have the booking incentives changed?

I'm interested in hearing about the new rooms for the couples massage. They used to pack you into a single room, but I heard that they created new space for this during dry dock? How was the space?

I'm watching the Weather Channel right now, Hurricane Wilma has slowed down, in forward speed a bit, and is not expected to hit Florida until possibly late Sunday night or early Monday.

Somebody asked about the seating at the Dive in movies. Did I miss the answer to that? Is it reserved or first come first serve? And are there showings late at night, say after 10:00 pm? How's that working out? Thanks for these reports!

We were both packed into a single massage room for the couples massage

Booking incentives are still 10% off and $200 stateroom credit

Travis says that we go through 5,000 chocolate chip cookies per day. Not we as in husband and me...but US...as in the ship. Just clarifying. ;)

LOL!! Hope you're having a good time. Thanks for the up-dates!

Apparently there was a leak and some cabins on the 8th floor were flooded last night. I heard this at the final jackpot bingo game this afternoon. I tried to get over to the lady who was complaining...but once the game let out, the crowds were too nuts.

Hopefully some others on the 10/15 can fill in the details.

Jackpot Bingo total was a bit more than $4,900 and won by somebody who is NOT me. Actually...Patrick from Montreal. Grats, Patrick. Unless I stalk the 70's party...could this be the last I see of my sweet cruise-crush Travis? :love1:

Today we took in the napkin-folding seminar held by Beckie our server in Studio Sea and watched some of the ice carving stuff. We also fed our ugly portraits to the Shutters discard slot of doom. Ugh.

Weather here is cloudy, but no rain as of yet. We're looking forward to CC tomorrow and are kicking around planning a March trip to WDW to use our APs before they expire on 4/6. All because I need some vacation to look forward too else I get depressed.

Thank you all for the great PMs, too! This is fun for me because once I get home I can reread the thread and get an idea of what I did each day. :)

Semiformal night tonight. Am debating between the dress I wore to Palo or the aqua blue plungy top with my black dress pants. I'll make the dessert buffet tonight if it KILLS me.

(Dave Matthews Band on the speakers here in Cove...my life is complete)
