Hi all,
Just checking a bit if mail and decided to post a quick update from SSR! Very briefly we arrived into WDW on the 3rd and stayed in Coronado Springs (V.Nice!) for 4 nights as our points didn't kick in until Monday 7th!
On the 7th we moved to Vero Beach and had a fantastic 3 nights in an Ocean View Inn Room (2415). Very friendly place and lots of welcome homes! Beach and pool great and ate in Shutters 2 nights and Sonya's 1 night. Very relaxing and overall worth our while visiting.
Returned 'home' on the 10th to SSR. Arrived at the gate, ushered through and not one 'Welcome Home' from anyone!!!! Not even checking in - I was soooooooo disappointed. The staff are a little green too!!! BTW - This is our first trip using DVC. We're in building 1, the first that opened. The room we're in is also a smoking room - no other was available for us although I gather no-one has smoked in it. Every now and then from next door - a 1 bed lockoff- there is a slight smell of smoke in the hallway but only a minor irratation.
Anyway enought with the moan, I'm on Holiday!!!!!
To say that this place is AMAZING is an understatement. The room is beautiful (Studio), on the end of the building overlooking Pleasuse Island. The landscaping, pools and views are all excellent. We used Artist Pallet a number of times and photo's don't do this justice. I now understand the reason we bought into here in the first place.
As the are now only 2 buildings open the place is pretty quiet and loads of room at the pools. You can hear the buzz from PI at night on the balcony and by the quiet pool, but zero noise once the door is closed. We love DTD and PI so this was a deciding factor in buying in and we feel part of it all now. The path to DTD marketplace is not finished but you can still walk on the closed road from the bus stop in front of our building through a security barrier (not manned) and rejoin the main path around. The walk takes 10 minutes or less. We do this all the time rather than wait for the bus. The main buses to the parks are all as regular as the busier hotels.
Have to go now but have loads of video and pics to put up when i'm back home in Dublin (boo hoo) on Thursday 17th.
