Live from SSR!!

Wow - Awesome view:thumbsup2 I'm hoping to have something like that when my DH and I have our first visit home next April. But I must say, I am totally excited for my 09/07 trip with my sister at AKV-Savannah View:cool1:

Hope your stay is Disney magical!:goodvibes

A couple I know will be staying in a one bedroom in October. Which building would everyone suggest?
Thanks :)

The real question is ... how was Harry Potter? (I might be taking a contingent of little cousins to see it tomorrow. We're in Williamsburg this week.)

Oh, ok a SSR question. When you take that walk over to Grandstand (convenient for you if you're checking it out on the way back from the ferry), take a look at the lights along the walkway to the area. The 4th from the seating area kept going out on us in May. We'd report, they'd fix it and then it stopped working the next day. I wondered if there was a wiring problem.

I loved Harry Potter. I haven't read the books and if you did then you may be a little dissapointed. I met some gals who were talking about the differences. But DH and I really liked it.

I will definately check out the lights by the ferry because I want to take that ferry!!!

We had an awsome day today. Last year we couldn't catch a bus to save our lives. Seems all we did was wait for busses. This trip, every bus has arrived within 5 minutes of our getting to the stop!! Went to EPCOT this morning and strolled around. I don't know if it's my imagination but there didn't seem to be as many people as there typically is for this time in July. Did our favorites in Future World and then walked around the WS. It was wonderful. Not crowded at all. Hit the pool this afternoon and now relaxing before dinner at the Turf Club. I'll let you all know how that is later.

Weather - lovely. Hot, humid ;) and a short thunderstorm in the afternoon. Great pool weather. :thumbsup2

Later...

We are at SSR the last week of Aug. and was wondering if pool movies will still be there. Would you be so kind as to ask the recreation staff? Also, did they give you a schedule of movies. Someone at BC said they are repeating the same ones each week over there. It might make a difference in planning our park days in case we wanted to be back to see a particular movie. Thanks, Elaine

I love the birdhouses around the pool. How cool!

What a shame about the DVD player but glad you received a replacement so quickly.:thumbsup2

Have a great trip.:cool1:

I'd love to hear all about the Turf Club. We have an ADR here in August annd haven't heard much about it. Thanks!

Hi, glad you are having a good trip!! We will be at SSR in 2 days!! In a 2BR, ama I am looking forward to it!! Can't wait to hit the pool(s)..!!! It will be hot, but that is what the pools are for!!

Love the view! We are always scouting for rooms at SSR. so far always on the first floor though. Just guessing from the view but is your balcony one that receives the full sun in the afternoon? I know it's a hot time of year, but you must have the sun for almost the full day?

enjoy your vacation !

This room (1745) is on the 3rd floor in building 16 of Congress Park. As for the sun, sinced I'm not here most of the day I can tell you that in the afternoon there is enough sun to dry a towel and bathing suite quite quickly!:lmao:

This is our third time eating in the Turf Club. The first two times were last year when it first opened and we were curious if things changed; service and food.

Service - we had 7 PM ADR's and were seated promptly. There were however, larger parties that had what appeared to be a longer wait and they were not happy. We were a party of 2.

Our server (Rudi) was wonderful. Prompt, friendly and just an overall nice person! :thumbsup2

Food - Very good. All around us you could hear people commenting on how good the food was. DH and I had the sirloin. It was cooked perfectly!!! A medium rare steak what wasn't overdone or overcooked; perfect. Balsamic demi glaze just a little too rich for me, so I may pass on that next time. But overall we had a great meal; Oh...dessert. Warm apple pie and vanilla bean ice cream. Yummmm.....:cloud9:

It all depends on what or actually where you want to be.

We like being able to walk into DTD so Congress Park is for us.
If you want to be closer to the restaurant and main pool then maybe Springs is for you. Grandstand is lovely also.

Good Morning from lovely SSR!!! I even sleep better here!!!! :rotfl:

Sunny and a balmy 76 degrees w/100% humidity here at 7:30 this morning. Another hot and sunny day in beautiful Orlando. Seems the afternoon storms are less frequent this week which makes for great pool time.

Headed into MGM this morning to see if I can get DH on ToT. Hummm...we'll see. I'm the "dareing one" here. Run and get a FP for RnR and I'm happy!!!

Have a great day all...

Howdy Neighbor!

We're right next door at OKW!
Hope you have a great time!

Pool movies are being shown, but I don't know if there's an available schedule. I'll ask. Tonight it's Peter Pan and Friday it's Aladin.

Morning - Off to AK today.

Saw something in EPCOT last night that we definately must check out. Don't know if it's was part of an Illuminations Cruise Package, but all along WS there were little "pods" roped off with people setting up tables and settings for either dinner or refreshments. It was definately a "private" affair but one I'm sure you can purchase. If anyone knows what this might be I'd love to hear about it. I'm going to inquire today about it cause DH wants to do it next time!

Today is Spa day!! Full report will be given. Time to hit the showers; slept in a little today! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

That might be an Illuminations Dessert Party. :cloud9: Not sure how far in advance those need to be booked, but any group can arrange one and split the cost (and they are fabulous!!)

The movie schedule should be listed on the activity sheet you get at check-in (I had mine buried in my packet and didn't see it until we got home!! :rotfl2:) It's called "Horsing Around" and it has the week's activities on it. :)

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us!
