This a.m. started the same with me struggling to wake 2 tired 9 year olds (thank goodness we are sleeping in tomorrow). We were out of the room by 7:50 to try and make it to AK by rope drop. The greatest plans of mice and men can be completely derailed by the purple pants.
We waited quite a while for a bus, and then it went to BB first, so we got off the bus at AK at 8:58. I am guessing we will have to be at the bus stop by 7:30 if we want to make rope drop this week. I spoke with a driver yesterday while waiting to get on at the MK, and he said they are having a ton of problems with the new system. Sometimes it just shuts down, or the GPS indicates the bus is in a differnt location.
So anyway, we made it a few minutes after rope drop and headed back to EE to grab FPs and get in the stand by line. I dropped the kids in line and to the FP machines. I swear every one of them had a Brazilian tour group guide in line with a stack of at least 50 tickets. Luckily a very nice man (who was in front of his Brazilian tour guide) took my tickets and ran them with his! Random acts of kindness are a wonderful thing! So I jumped in line with the kids we off we went to tackle the Yeti! Since we were feeling so victorious, we went back in time on Primevil Whirl (10 minute posted time), and decided to bring a Dinosaur back to the present with us at Dinosaur. We did see two teenage girls try to cut the FP line at Dinosaur (which is no longer in use). The attendant called them back and sent them to the back of the line. I very graciously thanked her and had some less than complimentary things to say about the tour groups and their "pretending not to speak English." It had a 20 minute posted wait time, but by the time we waiting in line, did the pre-show and the ride, it was more like 45 minutes, which really screwed up my schedule. We ran over to Africa to get FPs for KS, and saw Divine along the way
. After grabbing our FPs, we had lunch at Pizzafari and hopped on over to Kali to pick up our last set of FPs for the day. We tend to grab our FPs in the a.m. and use them all up after lunch as our final hurrah!
So, it was EE with FPs, KS with our fast passes where we got to see the new baby giraffe.
Sorry about the quality of the pic. Trying to take it from a moving truck doesn't help my photographic ability. I do have one thing to say about our driver, he was very good and a lot of fun, but got really irritated when a small child kept standing in the seat. He told her nicely once to sit down and I guess she did (behind us). He then had to tell her again, and she obviously didn't sit down because he followed up with "Princess, you need to sit down. Sit down Princess." Finally he jerked hard on the brakes (I assume this made her sit down), and informed everyone if he had to keep telling her to sit down he wouldn't be able to tell us about the animals. I guess she stayed down after that.
It was at this point on the Safari when the heat really picked up. It had actually been a fairly temperate morning, but got very hot all of a sudden. (I think AK is the hottest park anyway). So BF9 rode Kali and we headed "home."
The kids had about 50 minutes to play at the main pool, and I had to call the IT dept because I couldn't get online. So after a very quick shower I went to get them (didn't want another episode of DD9 getting lost like she did yesterday) and got them changed for dinner.
We got to the bus stop at 4:00 and caught the MK bus before it could leave. After swapping monorails at the MK, we made it to the Poly at 4:55 for our 5:10 reservation at O'Hana. It was a great dinner and we had a wonderful table window-side with a view of the castle.
We were going to the MK after dinner to see the parade and fireworks and whatever else we could fit it. We did Laugh Floor twice (who knew the filter would prevent M*I*L*F

), Buzz once, HM once and by then it was time to find a spot for the parade. We had great spot in Liberty Square with the parade coming straight at us, but by the time we had waited almost 40 minutes (8:40 to 9:20)in the oppressive heat with a crush of bodies around us, DD9 told me she had a headache and her stomach hurt. Oh well, we packed up and walked the long way through Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to get back to Main Street and head "home."
FYI, we waited less than 5 minutes for an SSR bus to bring us home. On the ride, I gave the kids the option of getting up a little later but still being on bus to BB tomorrow by 8:30 a.m., or sleeping in and heading there about 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. and staying until close. They chose the latter, so we are going to sleep until we can't sleep anymore. I assume lunch will be at Artist's Palette (first time), playing around the resort and pool and then heading to BB late. I do still need to call and cancel by ADR at Cape May Cafe dinner and hope I can get a late table at the Turf Club.
Well, thanks so much to all of you who are reading, and I'll check in again tomorrow.
