Live from Disney! (with pics)

going to post a link to the CDN Board too:)

Your fellow Canucks are missing out on all your fun!! :):)

:sunny:

Cool thread. Enjoying it alot, especially since we'll be on board next week!
Can you tell me who is currently on the entertainment "team", and which band is on board?? And if any of the DIS'ers you're cruising with are in cat.3 or higher, I'd love to know who the current concierge team is. Thanks and have a great cruise!!

Hey Cass & Rob! I completely forgot you are still on your trip. Looks like you are having a great time!

I ventured over to the Theme Park board because Scott is home from New Orleans (finally)....and we decided to plan a quick trip to WDW in December. Only like 6 wks away. What was I thinking. LOL (For similar reasons as you. We'll be broke after new home is done, so 1 last trip to get it out of our system. But only 6 days / 5 nights. And a wicked budget trip. Shortest trip ever for us.)

Anyway, I saw your thread, and just had to start reading. Scott walks in the room, I tell him it's you guys, & he sees Rob eating. And what does he say??? "He's STILL eating??!!" LOL :rotfl: Like Scott should talk. Those 2 should be twins.

Have a great time. I'll try to remember to keep checking in here.

Just found your trip report.

Thanks so much, I love the "up to the minute (or day) reporting."

I'll keep checking to see how your are faring.

Am absolutely LOVING the trip report - especially since soon-to-be DH and I are going on our first Disney cruise as part of our honeymoon - keep the info and pics coming!

First let me say I LOVE your trip report. Thank you!

I was just wondering, did they offer you a chance to cancel when they informed you it was Eastern or did you at least get a rebate since Eastern is usually less expensive then Western?

Hi Cass and Rob,

I just returned last night from a trip to the world (I'm SO jealous that you're still on vacation) and I have to tell you that I saw you in Epcot!!!! Just before I left, I had read your first couple days report and followed your link to your webpage which I thought was fantastic. So when I saw you two in your matching Canada shirts on Wed 10/19 somewhere near the middle part near the fountain I was so excited! It was like seeing a famous person! Then I saw you again later in O Canada in the evening. I was too shy to say anything, but after reading through the rest of your report I'm kicking myself that I didn't say Hi because you both seem like such awesome people. I'm so glad that you're having such a wonderful vacation. You deserve it!

:flower:

Cass I thought you had a taken a picture of a pedicure you had gotten~ :rotfl: when I first saw the picture of your feet! To funny!
Have a great time~

WoW! Thanks for taking the time and effort to post all of your comments and experiences! Wait until you have kids.....you won't have near the time and energy! ;) Until then....we get to enjoy your hard work!

Guess who????????????

Okay, where did we leave off…ahh yes…

This morning I got up at 5:15 am so that I could get some photos and video of the ship without a billion people in them! I watched a gorgeous sunrise and got some great photos! Wrote the trip report, walked over to the atrium area, got Rob’s mail for him and u/l everything.

day13-1.jpg

I was wide awake so I figured I would just go get showered for the day. Woke up the lazy bones (actually I am the lazy bones of the family just NOT on a Disney trip…I can sleep when I get home right!?) and went to Parrot Cay for our Character breakfast at 9:45 am.

We saw all the characters and had fun with them. Food was iffy so afterwards we ran up to the buffet for a fruit salad for Rob and some chocolate croissants for both of us. Have I mentioned how much we love the chocolate croissants yet????? They are sinful. Thank goodness everything on the Disney Cruise has zero calories!!! :rolleyes1
day13-2.jpg

We made it just in time for our 11 am Exotic Rasul at the Spa. We got changed into our robes (I like MY Robe better, he’s much cuter ) and the attendant walked us into our room and explained everything to us. If you have never heard of the Rasul, there is some good info about it on the DIS, just do a search and you will find lots of reviews. The steam room was incredibly HOT!! I ran the cold water on the floor (thank goodness I remembered this from reading the reports on these boards) to cool us off and we had to keep the door open otherwise it was too hot to handle being in there. Even Rob was hot and this is the guy who wears a wool pullover in 37 degrees C heat! We slathered on the exfoliant and then showered that off. Then we had tons of fun applying the mud to each other’s body wooo hooo. We let that soak in a little then showered off again. I got a lovely foot massage and then for the rest of the hour, well, this is a PG board so we won’t go there. I can totally see why moms and dads like some alone time in this treatment! :goodvibes

By the time we got back to the room we were wiped! I only had about 4 hours of sleep and Rob was sleepy so we decided to nap. We set the alarm for 1.5 hours and when it went off we decided we needed to double the scheduled nap time. Woke up just in time to get ready for the Castaway Club meeting. They handed out some free drinks and there was a buffet too. We ended up sitting with a lovely couple (Hi Herb and Wendy!!) from Florida and ended up having a nice chat with them!
day13-3.jpg

We had skipped lunch so we got some chicken tenders and a hot dog at Pluto’s. We were so close to Goofy’s Galley, Rob couldn’t possibly say no to a plate of fruit!

day13-4.jpg

Ran down to watch Twice Charmed. It was good, but I wish they still had Hercules!

day13-5.jpg

Got all dressed up again and stood in line for some more formal portraits. We made it just in time for our 8:30 Palo reservation with M & J.

Gemma was our server, she was fabulous ! This was our first time at Palo since we had skipped it the last time. We started with some pizzas which were good and for an entrée Rob and I both had the Filet Mignon. Finally, I found some good beef on the ship!!!

For dessert, we each ordered the chocolate soufflé (it was as good as everyone says!) and we split the Tiramisu , the panna cotta and the cheesecake. (have to check that spelling!)

Gemma gave us some complimentary finishing drinks which Captain’s Tom’s wife introduced, and that concluded our dinner at Palo.

day13-8.jpg

I should back track a little to say that when we got up from our nap, Rob had started to feel yucky. By now, he was starting to lose his voice and became very congested and VERY tired. He has been taking Cold FX for 3 weeks now which is an immune booster but apparently it didn’t work. We wash our hands MANY times all day long and don’t touch the railings and stuff but I guess Murphy’s law sometimes just takes over.

By the time dinner was done, he was toast! He went back to the room and I ran downstairs to catch the tail end of Freddy Fusion, which was great!

Back to the room to check on Rob. He looks like he feels and when he feels like this he needs a lot of rest. Our last cruise (on RCCL) he spent about 90% of the time in bed since he was so sick.

We have the shipwreck snorkel trip booked for 8 am tomorrow but he asked me if we could cancel it so he could sleep. I imagine we still have to pay for it but Rob’s health is way more important to me than snorkelling so I am about to run down to guest services to cancel just in case someone was on the cancellation list wanting to do it.

Maybe if he gets a lot of rest tomorrow he will be feeling better. Tomorrow night is Pirate Night and we both LOVE pirates and have been looking forward to it for a long time now.

He hasn’t had ice cream all day…you know he’s not feeling good when there is no ice cream consumption going on!!

Well, I will run down to the atrium and post this. Sorry if I can’t answer all your questions…I will do my best with the time I have.

The cameras we are using are listed earlier in this thread. Rob (Darkrobe) posted all that info a few days into our trip.

We don’t like bands, so I am not sure about the band name, other than Junction 21 at Rockin Bar D.

Good news about the workout room though. It opened this morning 20 minutes before our Rasul. I will take some photos tomorrow and post one, it looks great!

What else?

We have over 850 returning guests on this cruise. The Captain sped things up a bit the last two days so we can avoid Alpha and get some good weather.

Our verandah pool has been drained and is usable again! Yay!! We actually got some ice today wooooo!

And for those who are thinking of cruising, DO IT!! Really! I mean we’ve had a few snags this time but a Disney Cruise is worth every penny! I am also comparing this trip to our first cruise which was 100% MAGICAL so my standards are awfully high. I am a VERY picky eater so sometimes it’s hard for me to find stuff I like. Rob, Moose & Jeannine have really been enjoying all their meals and are very happy about everything!

I could have NO FOOD and still be happy. The Magic is a beautiful ship and I love being on the sea.

Okay, need to get this done and get some sleep! I need at least 4 hours people!

Night folks!
Thanks again for all your replies, we read and love all of them!

Oh and I still need a Discovery Cove magnet if someone is willing to grab one for us when they go...I will send you $$$ for the magnet and for shipping!! :teeth:

mbb,
thanks for posting the link on the CDN board, I almost forgot about my fellow Canadians!!!! :earseek:

New England Eeyore,

Awww, you should have said hi, we don't bite....hard. Too bad we missed ya...we are Canadians you know, we're a friendly bunch! Especially Rob, he talks to everyone, whether they like it or not LOL ;) :rolleyes1

Splsh,
Hey Jo! Glad Scott made it home safe and sound!! Yup, Rob is still eating alright! He got his ice cream fix in WDW and now he is getting his fruit fix here on the cruise. :rotfl:

Hi Cass and Rob!

Well I finally made it to the end of the thread and I concur with the other DISers that this is possibly the best trip report ever   I have had a great time with you guys, you really make it all come alive and the photos have been fantastic. I'm not even an ice cream eater but boy am I getting a craving now :rotfl2:
I am sending much pixiedust across the sea for Rob to make a speedy recovery :wizard: :wizard: and hope that you get back to land nice and safe. In the meantime, I will be checking in every day, I think I'm hooked. Many thanks for taking time out to do this and a belated congratulations for your anniversary. If there was a couple who deserved a good vacation, it sounds like you two. Your love and support for each other is something to aspire to,

Much love and pixiedust,
Claire xx

I hope Rob feels better this morning! Maybe a good nights sleep will do wonders for him.

Looking forward to the next installment- :teeth:

Thanks so much for the great reports and pictures!!!! Since I can't be there, your report is the next best thing. I hope that Rob feels better this morning and that the rest of your trip is as great as the beginning!!!!! I wish that I was there!!!!! :goodvibes
I have only been on one Disney Cruise, the Wonder, a year ago. We had a great time. I was noticing your pictures of the Magic and see the big TV/movie screen above the pool. Is that new? Or has that always been on the Magic? Do you know if the Wonder has that now? Or is it something only the Magic has? We are talking about possibly doing our next cruise (DCL for sure) next November. We haven't done any reservations yet, though. I was just wondering if the Wonder would have that. My DH doesn't want a 7 day cruise. He says that 4 days is enough for him. We want to do another land/sea combo.
I am loving your report and pictures. Thank you so much for taking time out of your vacation to share with us!!!!!! :sunny:

Hi Cass and Rob,

Getting caught up here on your TR, sounds like you are having a nice time. I join in by saying, I hope Rob feels better after a good night's sleep.

Adding in your photos is such a nice treat, seeing the early morning shot on the Magic almost made me feel as I was on the ship again myself!!!

Continue to enjoy the rest of your time onboard, and I will be waiting for your next installment.

Andy

Thanks for the live reports!I love the screen by the pool.I hope Rob is feeling all better this morning. Please let us know if you all go to CC as we are concerned about Wilma and CC.We go in three weeks, and we are suppose to go to CC twice.I surely hope Wilma hasn't done any damage there.

Cass I have been enjoying your live report and am sure glad you guys are haveing such a great time. I know I will never get to go on a cruise because of the outrages price for a single. I look forward to my Christmas drip to WDW only 48 more days to go.Keep posting I check here every day to see how thing are going. Tell Rob he is a DREAMBOAT. You two are awsome together.

Poor guy, I thought I was the only one that gets sick on every trip. Hope he feels better soon. Rob, I feel your pain!
