After a wonderful week at OKW, and an OK weekend in Tampa, we checked into a BCV studio yesterday. We got our request for a 5th floor Epcot view, and enjoyed it from our balcony last night. Unfortunately, it is also the room right behind the back elevator, and the sound is constantly in our room. The bathroom actually sounds like you are IN the evevator! We were able to sleep quiet well, though, since we were tired and the elevator use does slow down in the middle of the night. I am going to call today and see if BC has any white sound machines available! The weather continues to alternate between sweltering and pleasant. There has been some cloud cover almost every day (cools things off!), but no rain. Crowds still seem moderate to me. We were able to get on TOT twice last night, and walk in to Millionaire with no problems. DH got in the Hot Seat AGAIN, though he knows it's my turn! He only got to 8000 though. Today is swimming, lunch at Coral Reef, to AMC to see Finding Nemo, and maybe some Flower Power later tonight. We have decided that long vacations are the way to go!

Sounds like you are having a good time - would you mind posting the room number as I am compiling a list of room numbers to avoid where possible

Thanks

I am totally envious of you. We will be arriving at BCV on 6/22 with DW, DD & DS. Can't wait to dip my toes into SAB. Have a great time!

Great to here the weather has been rain-free, even if sweltering. My guess is the rains will arrive with a fury on Father's Day, the arrival date for first visit home for my wife and I. We were at the Carribean Beach Resort last year the 2nd and 3rd week of June, and it rain a lot. But at least we did the DVC tour, and made a decision to join. Every dark cloud has a silver lining!

Hi--I am new to this whole forum thing--we are going home to the BCV for the first time--leaving Friday June 6th for the 18 hour trek down 95....checking into a 1 bdrm on Sat.--moving to a dedicated two bedroom on Monday morning----staying till June 21st---CAN'T WAIT to see SAB---kids are very excited as well...
Gotta go PACK!!!! :) :)

Congrats to your DH on getting to the Hot Seat! I got in last October, and also topped out at $8000.00; I would probably have gotten to the Million if it weren't for that %*@# sports question!!!

I notice you're from PA. Where's Schwenksville? Sounds like lancaster County (PA Dutch country). Our trip last year took 16 hours going down, a little longer returning home because of some accidents.

I was in the same room you're in! We spent 5 wonderful nights in that room over Christmas and, dummies that we are, didn't realize there was an elevator right around the corner! We heard the constant noise (didn't bother us all that much) but assumed it was the air conditioning or something. It literally took us until the night before we checked out to discover the very convenient elevator RIGHT THERE. The room was great, though. Large entry way and ENORMOUS balcony overlooking the quiet pool. Am I right?

Were we at OKW the same time as you? We were there 5/25-5/30 in building #52. What I wanted to know was how do you find BCV and OKW compare? Were you in a studio at OKW also? I'm curious because in our family, DH loves OKW far above all else. I love BCV best (although OKW is nice), but DH won't even hear of trying it-"Too busy!" In order to get my BCV "fix", I go solo every year there.

Schwenksville is in eastern Pa---20 minutes from the King of Prussia Mall---off of 422 going towards Reading....We are leaving at 3 in the morning--and hopefully reach Savannah by 5pm...we have reservations in Savannah----has anyone ever driven from Pa --and gotten to Savannah in a reasonable amount of time? I hope to get to walk around a bit--we are in the historic district--and I'd like to get a taste of this interesting city...even if only for a few hours!!! It takes us almost 2 hours to get to Hershey Park--do you catch 95--or go a different way? My husband is right now installing a third drop-down screen in our Suburban--so each of our boys will have their own screen to watch!!! Egads!!!

It took us 8 hours to get to Florence, SC last year, exactly half way (8 hours the next day). If you leave at 3 AM you should gwt to Savannah no later than 3 PM, probably earlier. We take I-83 to Baltimore, then 95 from there. We also leave at "0 dark-thirty" as my father-in-law used to say. I'd much rather get up and drive early, even on 6 hours of sleep, in order to beat the traffic. Are you heading out on a weekday or a weekend? It can make a difference in the morning traffic. Weekend traffic doesn't seem to get heavy quite as early.

Thanks for taking the time to post during your vacation. Glad you are having a good time! :)

We are leaving on a Friday morning--so we definitely want to avoid Wash. DC at rush hour!!! We should be through DC by 6am---that should be ok....Wow---I'm glad to hear that Savannah will not be as long of a drive as I thought!! We decided to do the bulk of the driving on the first day---so we only have about 5 hours left to drive the next day...hopefully our boys will sleep in the car at 3am--when we leave!! You never know!!! That's why Benadryl comes in handy on trips where you are driving at night!!

Now that's a true addiction! Going "every year" to a resort that hasn't even been open one year yet! ;) I guess your "years" are three months long?

Same question as jaysue, would you mind posting me the room number.Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

LOL-erikthewise. I wish I could figure out how to make a year only 3 months long. Actually, I confess I've only stayed there solo once so far (ressies for a second trip in December). But we recently bought 100 points there with the plans that I will stay there. Although I have gone to WDW solo every year, staying at BCV is more "will stay". Now if only I could figure out how to convince DH that every year means I go every 3 months?!

I need to figure out a way for DW to let me go solo. Don't get me wrong, I could - but I'd NEVER hear the end of it!!!

Hi all. Well, it rained today! Actually, poured at BCV for about 40 minutes, but when we got to MK found it hadn't rained much at all there. More crowded at MK, we toured a bit, went to California Grill spur of the moment for dinner, and I came back while DH and DD went to E-night. I'm about to go watch Illuminations from the balcony! So Jecca, not the same room, but probably very close. I will post the room number when we get home, don't like to post while we're in it.

Simba's Mom, yep, we were there 25-30. My DH loves OKW too, loves to spread out. But he actually admitted yesterday that it's nice being in the Epcot area too. And he and DD enjoyed the pool for a good while yesterday. We are staying in a studio, so it's quite different from the one bedroom we had at OKW, which was 6232. Conserving points to cruise next year! I think in 2005, we will get a 1 BR at BCV for a Sunday/weekend/to Friday stay. We should have enough points then for a 12 nighter. Then we can really compare! I love it here, what can I say.

Well, time for fireworks. Diana

Checking out of room 563 today and heading home. We got used to the elevator sound, I guess. At least it didn't keep anyone awake. The spectacular view of Illuminations made it worthwhile. Diana
