Sounds like a lovely day you had to me! Continue to have a blast and keep us informed and hopefully lots of pics soon too!
. . . found out that the only maps given at check-in are the little 4X6 ones-no more big ones.
Lost another whole post-this internet is so quirky! Got a recrfeation schedule last night and found out that the only maps given at check-in are the little 4X6 ones-no more big ones. Saw SSR today-it's HUGE! Tonight-Artist Point. Tomorrow-Magnolia golf course and Beaches and Cream.
...Then the final blow [for him] was that his room key was rejected for charging. Off to MK today.
You can charge with your room key from DVC resorts. It is set up when you register.wait, you can't charge with your room key if you stay at DVC resorts?? no key to the kingdom?

Sure you can as long as you use a credit card for that purpose when you check in. We don't usually do that though. We usually just use our card to pay instead of our room key. Disney puts a $1500 hold on your card, and I don't like that, so we just use our card instead of adding it to the room key.
Have done it for years. Did hit a minor snag this time at OKW. Apparently, they are now using a Class B subnet on the outside and I had to use 3rd party firmware on my Linksys to make it work. This could be a real PITA to a non-IT professional IMHO. Tech support from Disney was worthless. I just happened to look at the gateway it assigned me and knew that it was a Class B subnet and since I couldn't ping it, I knew I had a subnetting problem. I installed SVEASOFT firmware and it fixed the problem. The latest firmware (which I already had installed) from Cisco/Linksys for my WRT54G would not work.
