Live at OKW!

Sounds like a lovely day you had to me! Continue to have a blast and keep us informed and hopefully lots of pics soon too!

Lost another whole post-this internet is so quirky! Got a recrfeation schedule last night and found out that the only maps given at check-in are the little 4X6 ones-no more big ones. Saw SSR today-it's HUGE! Tonight-Artist Point. Tomorrow-Magnolia golf course and Beaches and Cream.

Enjoy your stay!

9PM is just a bit over an hour away, will you make it to the lounge?

. . . found out that the only maps given at check-in are the little 4X6 ones-no more big ones.

I'm so into my iPhone I'd prefer an OKW specific app that includes an updated resort map to carrying around papers. Wishful thinking.:confused3 I think I'll download a jpg. version and keep it on my phone and see how that works on our next trip.

Hope you enjoyed Artist Point...It's our favorite!

Hope you continue to have a wonderful time! Was just wondering, did you find any info on when Southwest RAC would be available at OKW?

Hope you are having a great time! Wish I was there!! Could you post pictures of the view from your room as never been in that building!
debsx:)

wait, you can't charge with your room key if you stay at DVC resorts?? no key to the kingdom?

Sure you can as long as you use a credit card for that purpose when you check in. We don't usually do that though. We usually just use our card to pay instead of our room key. Disney puts a $1500 hold on your card, and I don't like that, so we just use our card instead of adding it to the room key.

Yes. and the problem was that when they mentioned that to him, he looked at them like he had no idea what they meant. He thought the very existence of the card would give charging priveleges to him. He said the CM hadn't told him at check-in, but DH suspected he just hadn't paid attention.

Sorry, no photos til Wednesday. DH leaves today and I switch over to a value studio at AKV (after we have breakfast at Boma).

Have done it for years. Did hit a minor snag this time at OKW. Apparently, they are now using a Class B subnet on the outside and I had to use 3rd party firmware on my Linksys to make it work. This could be a real PITA to a non-IT professional IMHO. Tech support from Disney was worthless. I just happened to look at the gateway it assigned me and knew that it was a Class B subnet and since I couldn't ping it, I knew I had a subnetting problem. I installed SVEASOFT firmware and it fixed the problem. The latest firmware (which I already had installed) from Cisco/Linksys for my WRT54G would not work.

How would the external subnet matter?

That should just be used to NAT outgoing traffic and you would get assigned either a PAT (or Hide NAT) or you would have a unique address.

Or are you referring to your local network and you had your router hard coded to a class C network?

I still don't see how a firmware upgrade would be required, it is just basic DHCP.

Would you care to elaborate on the issue?

Thanks.
