We checked into Kidani Saturday afternoonn (Studio Rm 2915) We enjoyed the room, but we are very spoiled with a 1 bedroom, and could not be comfortable in a studio with a family of five (one toddler). We checked out sunday morning at 8:30 on our way to AK and our 1 bedroom was already ready for us :cool1:. We headed over to AK anyways to beat the crowds. I think the heat (95) on sunday kept some folks out of the parks, the most we waited for anything was about 15 minutes....everything else was 5-10 minutes. We left the park by 3 and headed back to the resort. The family was starving so he got off the bus at Jambo and had lunch at Mara, and then walked back to the room. We made the walk in about 6 minutes that is from the front doors of Jambo to our room which is about 1/3 of the way down the hall from the lobby at Kidani. There is an elevator that services the parking garage and will take you to your floor without having to go through the lobby, for us that has helped cut out a few steps.

We have a standard 1 bedroom (7229) we overlook the parking lot and the tennis courts ( I will post pictures later). The room is wondeful IMO, I love the extra pull out chair since we have three kiddos, it makes it really nice for them. I also really enjoy the new bathroom layout (no more musical doors :) )
Their is a ton of space in the bathroom too, my only complaint is the lighting is kind of bad when trying to do my hair and put on a little make up. Not a big deal I can move my things to the bedroom desk that has a mirror above it and plenty of natural lighting. :goodvibes

My boys love the pool area, the slide is awesome, and the kids play area is tons of fun too, for kids of all ages (my dad took a spin down the slide yesterday and came out sideways, and he is pretty big guy) We have not had any trouble with it being crowded. We were at the pool today from 3-5 and had plenty of chairs, and enough water for everyone.

We really have not had a lot of time to explore the resort, but have seen quite a few aninmals, and are planning a day later in the week to just be here.

My parents checked in this afternoon for two nights for their anniversary and they have a studio savannah view on the 5th floor (room 7540) The view is somewhat obstructed b/c of the tree tops, but it is still a great view, I will post of pictures later.

Up until this afternoon, the buses were wonderful (With the exception of a few drivers who either couldn't pronounce Kidani, or just called it the first stop at Animal Kingdom Lodge) We have only had to wait 3-4 minutes for most busses, and since it is the first stop we always get onto an empty bus. This evening we waited for 35 minutes for the Magic Kingdom bus, and when it finally came, the driver took us the long way around to MK, not sure what the route he took but we were on the bus for about 27 minutes. :scared1:

Overall the Resort is lovely, intimate and quiet (even with my 3 boys running around :goodvibes ) The parks have been very mangable, its hot but hey this is Floriday....

We are off to Hollywood Studios in the morning, wish me luck getting to TSM!!!

Have a great time!!

I don't think there is a quick way to the Magic Kingdom from AKL/KV. The half hour actually sounds fast. Unofficial Guide says it's one hour from AKL to entry gate at MK.

We checked out of Kidani today. Thought the resort was really nice, food choices not so good.
That splash-play area was a lot of fun and a great addition to the pool.
I know some have complained about the garage area, but we loved it, getting into the car at 5pm when it's 90+ felt wonderful, having it underground.

I like the garage area too, we don't have a car here but my parents do, and it is very nice to be able to park the car and take the elevator to your room, especially if you request a room close to the Zuza elevators.

I agree its a long ways regardless, but that particular ride was very very long. The ride back last night was probably only half as long...the worst ride for us was DTD to the resort....but that was probably b/c our kids were cranky and we were in a bus full of Bostonians (is that a word??)....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It sounds like your trip is off to a great start- Thanks for sharing it with us! Can't wait t see your pictures!:thumbsup2
