Little tiny things that irritate you about WDW...Let's vent.

They are? Really? I didn't know that.

I always thought that if I needed to go from Epcot to AK, for example, I'd have to bus to a resort, then switch busses to AK.

Maybe I've never looked hard enough, but I've never seen a bus stop at a park that will take you directly to another park.

I don't think there are busses that go DIRECTLY from park to park.

I think you are right. You would have to take a bus from Epcot to a resort, and then a bus from that resort to AKL (the example you used).

Obviously you can take the monorail from MK to Epcot, but I don't think there is direct bus transportation. And there is some boat transportation from some parks to other parks (like Epcot to HWS).

Actually, there is. We have taken a bus from MK to DHS as well as a bus from AK to EPCOT. I think park-to-park transportation is supposedly only available to resort guests; however, I don't remember having to show our key cards.

The two things that irk me about Dinsey that are within their control to change are:

the "coffee"

and

the homogenization of souviners

I was upset on our recent trip that I was not allowed in The Land with a stroller with my sleeping child in it. I understand the pavilion is very tight, but I was trying to go in for lunch. There are plenty of corners in the seating area where we would have been out of the way. (And I would have been happy to send DH out with the stroller if DD woke up.) The cast member was not very nice about it either.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Where do you go to board a bus, say from MK to another park?

I've never seen this. Maybe I missed it?

They are not where the resort buses are. You have to take the ferry or monorail back to the tram area and they are off to left, I believe. Granted, it's not terribly convenient, but still better than going back to the resort first.

You still have to take the monorail/ferry from MK back to to the tram area, which I don't really consider to be park to park bus service, but I agree, it sure is better than having to go all the way back to a resort.

Anyways, thanks for the info.:goodvibes

I'm not fond of people that feel the need to announce (out loud) all of the items at a buffet as they pass them.

I have to agree, but add this:
We stayed at the All Star Movies (Dalmatians) and I figured paying for internet access was just Disney getting money back for the (relatively) cheap rate we were given for the stay. But having no wireless access and having to use a connector cable??? In the 21st century???? I have an Apple Macbook Air that does not have cable capability, and I spent an hour looking for a place that could sell me a USB adapter, but by the time I'd found the Best Buy, it was closed and the next day was Easter. Grrr. :scared1:

Like they said at the beginning of the thread, a small thing, not a trip-breaker, but definitely an annoyance that does not need to be.

This is why we always bring an Apple Airport Express with us for wireless capability in the room. :thumbsup2

I know this is an old thread but I have to echo the PP who commented on the lack of PEPSI at the Hess Stations. I understand that Coke is a sponsor but it is a pain to have to go off property just to get your favorite soda!

At the MK you'd have to take the Monorail to EPCOT or take the Monorail to the TTC to take a bus to AK or DHS. (At least I think you have to go out to the TTC for the theme park busses. I could be wrong.)

EPCOT you can take the Monorail to the MK or there are busses to AK and DHS near the resort busses.

Same for AK and DHS: There is bus transportation to the other three parks. I want to say at DHS you turn one direction to walk to the resort busses and you turn the other direction for the theme park busses. I've taken an AK to EPCOT bus before and it was very convenient for me to do so. I didn’t have to go “out of my way” or anything.

Disney doesn't make you go to another park via a hotel first. There is park to park transportation provided. The only place that you can't go directly to a theme park is DTD. You used to be able to do so but too many people took advantage of it - they'd park at DTD for free and then hop a theme park bus. So now only the resort busses travel to DTD in order to discourage people who want to go to the MK for a day parking at DTD for free.

I also want to thank Pongo for bringing this zombie thread back. I was just looking around the boards, bored and I came across this. I had fun reading it this morning. :thumbsup2

:lmao: My kids are now 7 and 9. We haven't used a stroller for them at WDW in a long time. I was just looking at all of the strollers there last week and was glad that we don't have to deal with that anymore....now we deal with dd 7 walking at a snails pace :headache:

I'm guilty of still putting my kids in a double stroller for two reasons. One, it helps me to know where they are at all times. None of this looking back and making sure they are behind me or dragging them by their hands so they can keep up. And two, we do tend to walk faster and for a lot longer distances so they get tired faster than DH and I do. So instead of hearing them whine and making them foul, I put them in the stroller and haul buns! :thumbsup2

I'm 5 ft tall and I can't tell you how many times I've had to jump out of the way of someone swinging around with a big back pack. I'm face level with most dads carrying these weapons. LOL. Forget about the scooters and strollers... I live in fear of the dreaded back pack. :scared1:

Nancy :rotfl:

OMG i know what you mean, i almost got knocked over in the voyage of little mermaid by a big backpack and he didnt even say excuse me or sorry or nothing. I dont know if this was mentioned but i hate when your standing watching fireworks or parade and someone in front of you puts their kid on their shoulders..

A lot of little things bother us and we do complain. However, after reviewing this thread, my biggest peeve is with people who can't just let the little things go, relax and cut people some slack. A lot of the time we ruin our own vacations.

I stay on property so it doesn't affect me, but how about paying for parking? YOu already have to pay to get in, why for parking too? Its not like you are parking there and going someplace else. YOu are not using their parking lot to go to Sea World or someplace else, you are there because you are going to WDW and are goin g to pay to get in, not just sit in your car all day. I just don't understand why people have to pay for parking, they should just figure it into the ticket price. I think that it is crazy.

If they added it to the price of the tickets, people who didn't rdive and park would complain how expensive it was, and how they shouldn't be payig for parking they didn't use.

I hate it when DH and I get dirty looks from people with small children because we dared to take up a spot in line to see a character without having a child. Just because we don't have children doesn't mean that I don't want my picture taken with the characters.

I have gone a few times without my kids, gotten into lines, without my kids, and no one has given me a dirty look. Most poeple think it is cool.

My sisters sons is autistic and I told her about the special pass, but told her she needed documentation from her Dr. When she came home, she told me thank you for the advice because it really helped when they didn't have melt downs and were able to stay on the train for over an hour. She said she had to show the medical paper to guest services for the badge.

I wish this myth would stay gone.

I agree.. to much planning, to much whining, and too much petty complaining about reality that doesn't suspend itself outside the gates no matter how much they try to keep it away.

Guests who stand in line at a quick service restaurant for ten minutes and then wait until it's their turn to order to figure out what they all want.

I wish this myth would stay gone.

What myth? When we were at WDW in November, my friend went to guest services to get a GAC for her son who is autistic. At first, the CM gave her a hard time and then asked for documentation. My friend had something from his doctor but before she got it out of her purse, she asked the CM if she was familiar with HIPPA. Another CM heard her and before you could say hello, she had her card. There are CMs who are either being a PITA or who don't know the law when it comes to these things. Note too that my friend is not a smart aleck by nature but this particular CM was a douche bag.

Wow, thanks for all the info!!!

**per the OP, these things don't ruin a minute of my trip....but they do irritate me :) And thanks to whomever resurrected this thread.:thumbsup2

1. Melted Mickey Bar remnants on the ground. I mean--if you drop the entire thing....please don't leave it there. At least attempt to try and clean it up.

2. People that are inconsiderate of those in wheel chairs/ECV's. They (and strollers) get a bum rap due to inconsiderate operators...but I've seen so many times folks waltz right in front of one and then get shocked when they are truly accidentally bumped. You wouldn't pull in front of a car like that on the highway--but for some reason...pedestrians feel they have the right of way at Disney and will willy nilly cut off someone.:confused3

3. People who let their kids pee in line. (only saw it once at DLP and the woman hoisted her pre-schooler onto a planter and let him drop trousers and water the bushes. Ewwwww!)

4. Lengthy potty lines. But that's a problem in any major crowded venue for a women's bathroom.

5. "This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment"--I don't know--but those signs partly crack me up and partly irritate me. I think it's the Disney-speak.

6. People that dress like they are on their way to work at the "bar". Seriously? Is it really comfy to dress like that?

7. That the People Mover is faster and that Space Mountain no longer glows while riding through it. All they need is a crazy movie on the wall and they can rename it the Willy Wonka Ride--scary scary! In the meantime--fast fast fast and pitch black dark.:confused3

8. High cost of parking--never really understood that at any venue that charges for admission. No idea how the increase in fees correlates with inflation. Is it really that much more price to operate asphalt?

9. Jerks like the jerk that literally cut me off to race to get in line for Dumbo so his precocious snowflake would get on "first". Yes--he bumped me, the pregnant lady and her 3 children...who were just about to queue, to get his butt in line. Good grief. It's Dumbo--not life saving surgery. And yes--I still consider it cutting since you felt the need to play defensive tackle to beat us in line by seconds.
