Little tiny things that irritate you about WDW...Let's vent.

Haven't read all replies, so sorry if this is a repeat.

1. It's 10 hours away!
2. No Pepsi products available.
3. They need to get rid of the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and put in the Indiana Jones ride thats in Disneyland!

I don't like the personal advertising. (It's my birthday / honeymoon / first visit / anniversary / etc...) I know Disney encourages it with the sale of themed hats and giving away the pins, but it still vaguely irritates me. It just seems like an attempt at getting freebies, rather than an actual celebration.

Related story: We we were on our honeymoon, there was another couple at our hotel also on their honeymoon. We knew this because each and every morning we saw them at breakfast wearing matching wedding related t-shirts (a different one each day), the wedding ears, and the pins. And every day DH would give me a hug and thank me for not being one of "those" people, thus making him be one. :rotfl:

Also, I enjoyed this zombie thread, it was a good read!

OK. Am I the only person in the world who doesn't like the Indiana Jones ride at DL? :confused3

What myth? When we were at WDW in November, my friend went to guest services to get a GAC for her son who is autistic. At first, the CM gave her a hard time and then asked for documentation. My friend had something from his doctor but before she got it out of her purse, she asked the CM if she was familiar with HIPPA. Another CM heard her and before you could say hello, she had her card. There are CMs who are either being a PITA or who don't know the law when it comes to these things. Note too that my friend is not a smart aleck by nature but this particular CM was a douche bag.

Sorry, not so much the myth of the GAC, or the myth of sometimes being asked to provide documentation (although i would expect any person who works that post to be 100% aware of the laws that prevent them for asking for the information..) but the whole "GAC - Front of the line". I wasn't questioning you, or your post, i suspect i just copied the wrong part of it (or possibly the wrong post!)

I also did NOT it like it. The ride itself is , at least to me, EXACTLY THE SAME AS DINOSAUR at AK, just with different theming.

It is too dark, to bumpy, to loud, and hectic and due to the bumpy and the dark, you don't get to see anything, because by the time youpull yourself off the lap of the person beside you, and then look around your zoooming off to the next huge bump and toss and bang.

My only pet peeve is that it is now a 6 hour plane ride (plus layovers) to get there since we moved to LA.

Other than that, a lot of times when I read a lot of threads on these boards, I feel like I must be missing something or not paying attention to what's going on because the only thing I ever come back complaining about is the fact that we had to leave:confused3

Maybe I'm just too laid back about vacations

:yay:

I don't care for it. It and Space Mountain are the 2 rides I cannot go on b/c of my neck. I enjoy the stunt show as well. It doesn't give me a headache.

I feel the same way! Like I must be walking around in my own little world because I see NONE of this stuff!

LOL, that's what I thought, too. Okay, I confess, i have sometimes noticed the bathrooms not being quite as clean as they used to be (say, back in the 80's and early 90's). I have noticed, although it doesn't 'irritate' me, that Americans do seem to be much heavier than most Europeans (I'm American but I travel a good deal).

But these don't even rise to the level of "irritations."

It helps that I don't drink coffee and love Coke products. :)

I agree. I worked with Special Ed children and to exploit the disorder or other handicaps, well it is just really low IMO.

and I do believe in Karma..

Too long a story to post but I have a GAC and although I am disabled and can't work I really don't need it in the parks.
The shortened version is a CM insisted I do something that I knew was wrong while I was waiting for Illuminations. He kept insisting until he finally called a manager over to confront me. The manager told him he was wrong and apoligized to me for the rude CM. Then he left and came back with a GAC and asked my name and wrote it on the GAC. He told me to keep it and renew it with every visit. I do and have used the pass now since 2000.
So what "Karma" am I to look for?
I do sometimes "bring" a family in to a ride like Soarin and Toy Story Mania when I am at the parks alone. This way I have someone to talk to while on line and I can ask them about their trip and if it their first trip make some suggestions as to what not to miss.

why oh why do they continue to use paper towels in the bathrooms? I wrote this as a constructive criticism when I agreed to do a survey in January. All restrooms should have high speed blowers now for obvious reasons: less paper all over the floor/wastebaskets and more sanitary. Wish Disney would get on board with this.

Guests who stand in line at a quick service restaurant for ten minutes and then wait until it's their turn to order to figure out what they all want.

:thumbsup2 My husband does this at drive thrus. It drives me insane!

This is a great zombie thread!

my pet peeve are the people who stop in the middle of the seats for any of the shows. Especially when they try the "no English" angle. :headache:

I won't climb over you but I WILL sit on your lap.

Try living here. The dining plan has made it impossible to just decide to go over to the parks or hotels for dinner. :sad1:

Amen!

This past weekend, we wanted to eat at a sit down in the parks (not counter service). Every single thing we tried to get into was completely booked. Primte Time, Sci Fi, Hollywood & Vine, Ohanas, etc. etc. etc. We ended up at MGM anyways and walked up to the check in counters to see if they had walk up availablity...nope!

It's getting harder and harder to eat on property unless you want burgers and fries.

LOL! I remember my BIL's volunteering to take their daughters to stand in line and wait to see Ariel!

Way back in 1994, we took our only daughter at the time to WDW. While at EPCOT, there was a Barbie LIVE show at the theater in front of the American Adventure...she wanted to go...so we took her...

Disney does have something for everyone...;)

My kids are now convinced Americans are the fattest people in the world.

As an American who IS above my ideal weight...I'll go along with this statement. Next time you're eating breakfast at your hotel...watch what the foreigners are eating versus what the Americans are eating.

My irritations:

people who talk on rides...had a older couple sitting right behind my daughter and I on Splash Mountain carrying on a conversation like they were sitting at the dinner table...were even using profanity...I think the only time they quit talking was when we went down the big drop.

people who think "the World" revolves around them...

tank tops...
manpri's...

This thread is cracking me up! We just got back from the world last week and it was a wonderful trip. Lots of fun and great weather.

However, I do have a couple of complaints to add...
First, people using strollers to push their way through crowds. My husband had the back/sides of his ankles hit several times and those hard Disney stollers took skin off one time!
Second, when you are waiting on a table to open up at a CS place and the nice people getting up offer you the table but as you wait for them to step away, a couple of young teenagers (cheerleader week) slide their trays onto it and claim it. :headache:

I don't understand why a nice day at the parks suddenly makes normal people forget their basic manners. :confused3

Renegade stroller pushers who clip my heels and don't say sorry..... Trust me, I walk fast and don't doddle, I don't need you using your stroller like a cattle prod.

Oh! My first zombie thread post! :rotfl2:

So the thing that irritates me about Disney world is the useless bag checks before you enter the parks. I mean really, if someone wanted to carry a weapon in to the park, they would find a way. I think all the security checks do is provide an image that says "see, you're safe if you're in Disney". Well, that & slow down the lines at the turnstiles!!!:lmao:

And the people who wait til they get right up to the security gaurd before they start to unzip the many zippers on the overstuffed backpack they are carrying. "oh, you're going to want to see in here?" Uuuuugggghhhhh!

I don't fault Disney for doing the checks. I know they have to. And it does bring security out into the public's eye. So if anyone did think about trying something, they know security is around.

And I can't skip the lines coz I need to carry a small purse with sunglasses & meds we need during the day. But really, those are 2 minutes of my vacation I won't get back!!!:rotfl2:

Do tell, what have you observed "foreigners" eating?

P.S. No offense intended.

I'm confused by the weight comments.... Why would someone else's weight irritate you? I would think that the over-weight person would have more of a right to be irritated about that than you.
