Little People, Big World ~ Season 6 ~

What irked me, was when Amy got home from her trip...with only Molly and Zach at home the house was still trashed....she took off her coat and started doing all the dishes.

She is NOT doing those a kids any favors by picking up after them every single time they mess that beautiful home up.

If it was MY house and MY two had stayed home....you can bet they would have trashed it when I was gone BUT it would have looked like the cover of Better Homes and Gardens when I got home. AND it has happened many times when I was away on one of my girlfriend weekends. I would tell them how awesome the place looks upon entering and then hear the horror stories about how it did look just several hours earlier. :lmao:

As those kids get older and older they just have no respect for A&M. :sad2:

We had the opportunity to meet and have lunch with Matt in 2008. He was such a great guy! Super nice. He did mention that Amy was not very fond of the cameras being around so much and he said he wasn't sure how long they would stay. I do hope everything is ok with them.

Oh bother......:headache:

I am sorry but they are on their 5th season of filming Little People. And they have managed to travel near and far and add a HUGE addition to their home. Sooo, I am not buying the whole Amy does not like the cameras around business...I guess the checks from TLC help her with her camera issues. :headache:

JMHO!

I didn't understand the whole show last night. Did Matt just go and book the trip and pay for it without telling anybody? I mean, wouldn't you think he would say to Amy "Hey, let's take the kid's on a trip for Spring Break, how about the Virgin Islands." at which point Amy would say, "I can't, I have a speaking engagement booked, let's plan it for another week." They made it seem like Matt booked and paid for the whole thing before telling anybody.
If I were Amy, would make me mad too, even if I didn't have a speaking engagement booked.

Yes, it did seem that way...huh! I think all Amy said was she had given Matt HER schedule and she was mad that he chose a week that she had indicated on the schedule that she had a speaking engagement.

My DH does love to plan trips BUT he would never in one million years go ahead, book and pay for a trip w/o consulting with me and both of us agreeing that that indeed was a good time for all.

Matt is very - ummm - "spontaneous".. He often does things (major things); makes large purchases; makes huge changes to their farm; etc., and tells Amy after the fact.. Then he gets upset because she isn't "wowed".. Strange dynamics there..

Ugh, it would make me sick to my stomach if these 2 divorced. Yet another family on TV that's torn apart.

Now, Amy was on the Rachael Ray show a few weeks ago, and Matt was with her; they didn't of course as her any questions about the marriage, but they both were there and seemed in good spirits.

Well this is good to hear. I am really bummed about last night's episodes. It was almost stressful to watch the first one. :sad2:

I'm not going to pick apart either one of them because I think they both have excellent as well as negative qualities, or take sides, because as they say "it takes two". I sincerely hope that they seek real help if they need it, and that they don't go the way of the Gosslins.

Hey, TLC: I WILL NOT watch another family self-destruct on television. I LOVE "18 Kids and Counting" and "The Little Couple" but I will boycott the network altogether if this is going to be their MO. I don't think the show has much to do with Matt and Amy's marital *******, but I do NOT think it should be tv-episode material. Well, not to the extent that they showed last night. :sad2:

Did you hear Amy tell the kids that Matt was in HIS bedroom?

I heard it but I don't think it means that they have separate bedrooms. I will say MY bedroom say for instance if one of the kids is looking for something that I may have in my room...I say it is in my room. DH&I do not have separate rooms.

I do know that Amy stated from the beginning of the filming of LP that no cameras were allowed in their room or Molly's room.

The whole vacation thing was just stupid and I think Zach is a bit of a drama queen/cry baby - he is VERY immature. I think Amy sucks the kids into her fight
I sadly agree. Amy could have easily encouraged the kids to go and have a good time. I really like her, but she really sucked them into choosing sides, and encouraged them to not go on a trip they would have loved. I didn't like the smile on Amy's face, when she found out they were boycotting Matt's trip. I'm glad they weren't able to convince the youngest not to go.

Matt should have checked with Amy first, but he didn't. It was time to move on after that, and not ruin it for the kids.

I think a divorce will be in their future..unless it's TLC playing with the editing, thinking hey, controversy worked for J & K, and brought in the viewers, lets try it here.

Very sad to watch.

I really hope this isn't the case because I found it difficult to watch this weeks episodes but I've found myself wondering more than once if TLC is playing with the editing. Do they really think viewers want to see a repeat of J&K? I for one, don't.:sad2:

I am usually on Amy's side of things, but she scheduled a conference or talk in Wisconsin during the kids spring break. I have no clue where, because I don't remember reading or seeing her in our state last spring. But she was upset, that Matt didn't look at her schedule, to see if she was gone. She was going on and on about how she has been scheduling the kids schedule from day one. So, why did she schedule the appearance when the kids had spring break. Matt choose that week, because of the kids spring break.
Isn't Amy a teacher? If so, the reason she probably scheduled it then was because it was her time off as well.

I can understand her being upset that he didn't check with her first but she really should have encouraged them to go when she knew they would love it.

I agree, she was too happy when she realized they were choosing her side. Something about Amy rubs me the wrong way though.

This is totally off topic but I rewatched last nights first episode this morning because I was doing some office work last night so I wasn't paying attention the whole time but did anyone laugh at how much sunblock Matt bought for he and the kids??? Myself, my ex and DD16 spent 10 days in the Virgin Islands a few years ago and we used probably two bottles of sunblock at most...I swear they walked out with at least a dozen bottles of sunblock!!! :rotfl2:

It's probably reading too much into it, but I wondered if it was the editors showing by example how careless Matt is with $$, how he truly lives with his head in the clouds. Didn't he mutter something about $175 in sunblock:confused3?

And I know that there's filmcrew there obviously, but how many parents would have left those two kids home alone AND let them have friends over?

I missed that completely....crap I live in SoCal....the sun shines all day long. I currently have 3 bottle of sunblock. Thats it.

Ohhh and Zach and Molly staying home alone....I see absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. Zach is 18yo senior in h.s. and Molly is 15yo but acts more like she is 20yo. Naaa, I think they are totally ok staying home alone.

$175 and 2 full grocery bags of sunblock...closer to 17-20 bottles.

Funny, I didn't notice them buy that much for the Bahamas.:lmao:

I noticed that. They were buying at least one bottle of every strength, it was a riot.

i think zach is just tired of seeing his dad do things he perceives as inappropriate, hypocritical and self centered, and has gotten to the age where he is 'calling' him out on it.

he called him on the whole 'family vacation' idea when he pointed out that if amy could'nt go it was'nt a 'family vacation', and that when they had done the multi week vacation previously matt had bailed on them mid way through (and if i remember right there was no major issue with the farm, matt just said over and over he does'nt like to be away from the farm and finaly bailed after the river cruise).

he called him on trying to guilt him/molly into going saying he was'nt going to buy into that anymore (and when molly/zach were in the bedroom but their conversation was miked, molly was saying she was trying not to let her dad do that to her anymore but that he knew that was how to get to her:guilty:).

he called him on being retaliatory when they came back from the trip (said something about "and don't be thinking i'll sit here and listen to you purposely try to make us feel bad by saying 'this is what YOU missed', 'if you had gone you could have DONE this'...". that for me says that matt's done this kind of juvinile behaviour in the past.

i've always seen a divide between zach and matt. it's like matt would kill to be jeremy, but pushes zach to be matt. at the little people conferences he's always pushing him to pursue little people girls-like that's the only option in finding a partner. he's always trying to push him into doing what (imho) matt seems to perceive as the little person lifestyle-which i don't think was the way amy was raised or the way zach perceives himself as being limited to.

it turned my stomach when matt made a comment during the trip that zach did'nt want to go on the trip and that part of the reason was 'he figures he has his whole life ahead of him to do things'-and he said it kind of snarky/in what i perceived as a jealous tone. GIVE ME A BREAK-would'nt you be thrilled that your son whose undergone multiple major surgeries and likely will face more has a positive outlook for a long, productive life??? would you begrudge your son that???:sad2::sad2:

Well that's another example of how Matt doesn't have a "clue" when it comes to money and spending it - in a hysterical sort of way..
