What kind of lists do you make yourself before you go on trips?

I am making a list of what has to be in my suitcase, me mom does the same for her and my dad, and we are making a list of things we have in common.

Do you do the same?

Do you have other lists that you make?

My husband calls me the queen of the list makers. I call it being organized. I make a list of all the snack items I want to bring with me to the parks. I make a list of all the medicines I want to take with us. I make a list of all the things I want to do at the house before we leave (turn off water, double check all doors and windows, set alarm). I have a list of all the conformation numbers for hotel and ADR.....and the list goes on and on and on :rotfl: You get the picture.

My DH also calls me the queen of lists...I jsut think it is being organized and on top of things. :-) I do a list "Must do Before We Leave" list categorized by day. I also do a "Must do" List for our neighbors who are house sitting. And or course my huge list of "To Bring Items" categorized by section (clothes, bathroom stuff, medicines, misc, food, etc). You get the idea.

I know...I know...I have sick mind! :rotfl2:

I always make a list of what to pack for the kids, i.e. wipes, diapers, etc.. As I pack it all I cross off each item from my list so I'm sure not to forget anything. This helps me to stay organized makes it a breeze to pack.

Add me to the list of list-makers! ;)

Lists for what clothing to bring for each of us, what to pack in carry-ons, what food to buy at the grocery store upon arrival, what restaurants we'd like to try this time, lists of ADR's if any, lists to leave at home for the cat/housesitter, lists for things to remember to do before leaving (get US $, stop mail, etc.), etc.

Funny, but once we actually get to the parks, I'm very laid-back and just go with whatever we feel like at the time. I've never even considered using one of the day-planning guides. Some days we go at top speed, others we just stroll and do what we want. :)

I'm so bad, I have lists for my lists...LOL, JK!!! But I can definitely relate to lists, I use 'em on all trips!

For all trips, I usually employ a small wire binder, 3x5 size works best because I can put it in my purse, but the bigger 81/2 by 11 also works.

As I am planning for my trip, I start making notes on reservations, costs etc.

Then I make a packing list. I usually also make a general plan for the trip, an itinerary I guess. If we are driving I make a list of cities/miles/time/$$, & refer to it while driving (we usually drive).

During the trip I keep track of major stuff, and if I make additional plans I write them in here. I keep track of $$ spent, here, also.

This year I am using the Passporter, so I am still deciding how to fit that in.

Add me to the list makers group! I believe having the lists helps you really think about what you are taking, seeing, going to eat, names of good restaurants, bad restaurants, etc and it relieves the panic attacks you can get as you are headed to the airport or when you leave! I have only been on 1 trip where I didn't do a list and UGH! was it a disaster in my mind until I could open up the suitcase at the final destination to check! But I did forget my toothbrush on that trip! Never again will I travel without those handy lists!

Absolutely! Not to mention that the older I get the more absent-minded I get (DD says I live in an alternate universe) and just making the list helps me remember. Plus I can't count the number of times we have needed confirmation #s or some other piece of info and there it is, somewhat illegible but available.

I'm a list-maker as well but you cannot blame me, whenever my mom has chores for me to do what do you think she gives me? That's right, a list! Every summer (except this one) I would go to Summer camp with my church and I would create a list of all the things I would need and like another poster said, I organize it by:
-clothes
-tops
- bottoms
- unmentionables
-shoes
-hygiene

etc....yeah but planning and all those crazy list making days are part of the fuN!

Yay! I am among friends! My husband thinks I am crazy with my lists and itineraries (sp). For our trip (in 6 days!) I made folders with information on all the parks, show times, dinner times, etc. for each person going. Then I went so far as to create a spread sheet for myself. And of course, I have a "to pack" list for my husband, baby, and I. Crazy but it helps. Woo Hoo, did I mention we will be at WDW in 6 days?!?! :cool1:

Let me check my list of list...
1. List of what I need to buy for the trip (travel size shampoo, deoderant, toothpaste...)
2. List of cameras and all things associated with cameras.
3. List of what I am shipping to our resort along with date must ship by.
4. List of what goes in who's suitcase.
5. List of what goes in the carry on suitcase.
6. Spreadsheet of each day of vacation having all conf. numbers, times, and places.
7. List of everyones addresses, phone numbers and e-mails that I may (or may not) write, phone or e-mail.
8. List of what I want to buy while in WDW.
9. List of instructions for pet keepers.

I could go on but I'm afraid you might call me list obsessive. :lmao: I'm a firm believer of list... the only problem is I always leave the grocery list right beside the coupons on the breakfast bar!

I make lists and lists, but I thought it was because I am a Virgo. I wonder how many of the list makers here are also Virgos?

AMEN!!!!! It looks to me like we're working off of the same list! I also make duplicate copies of my list. Especially ADR's which I carry in my Passporter & an extra copy in plastic in my backpack.

OK, I admit it, I'm on the cusp of the Virgo and Libra. I lean a little more towards Libra, born 43 minutes after midnight Sept. 23.

Dizneeyore, I have the same eeyore as the one in your sig. I wasn't an eeyore fan before my last trip, but when I saw it I really had to have it.

Ok, back to lists. I am now starting a list of what I want to look for hehehe Like merchandise wise hehehe

My DH just calls me a freak! but i have a big white binder for each year of WDW vacations (i currently am planning 3) This years, next year Christmas in the WORLD and Cruising 2008!!! In it i have information and lists of:
