Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Tomorrow should be another good day. I get to visit a dear friend who had to move from our area after Katrina. This will be the second time I have gotten to visit her. I can't wait to see her and for DH to see where she lives, it's lovely.

Lisa, I am so sorry about Miss Jeanne and her family. That is just one of those things that may take you many months to comprehend and get over not only because you loved her so much, but because stuff like that always makes us realize how fragile life is. Was someone texting? If so that will make this all the more hard to deal with because its so avoidable. So they were behind an 18 wheeler or the 18 wheeler hit them head on? I just can't imagine, and I am with you on the seatbelts thing. So many still don't wear them which I don't understand.

I am so sorry for your loss but I am so thankful you knew her! She believed in you for good reason my friend, you are worth believing in! And don't give up your dream of taking dance and learning. You won't find another Miss Jeanne to teach you, but you might find someone who could help you realize your dream and what a tribute to your dear friend that would be. Hang in there sweetie, this is a tough blow life has dealt you and your sweet daughter. I am saying a prayer for everyone involved in this tragedy.

I love that Amish furniture, that's great you were nearby to take the tour and see it close up.

Glad you got some walking in, that sounds more like hiking!

I am glad you had fun and are home safe and sound. We missed you and we are here for you!:grouphug:

Lisa, I keep thinking about this horrible thing and if I am reading right, Miss Jeanne's daughter lost her parents, brother and husband? My Lord, that poor woman. :sad1:

I am sending a gentle  and prayers for you and your DD, and Mrs. Jeanne's family, friends, and dance students. I am so sorry for you loss, Lisa. :sad1: Life just doesn't make sense sometimes.

Is there anything that we can do for you? Please let us know.

I hope you had a nice time visiting with your friend and her family.

Take good care of you, my friend!

Lisa, just stopping by to give you a hug and say I am thinking about you during this extremely hard time. I hope your dd is doing as good as can be expected. Hang in there my friend.

Amy and Tracy
Thank you both so much. The past week has been difficult. We went on with our vacation as planned. On Monday, we stopped at the furniture maufacturer. On Tuesday we visited my friend in VA. It was a wonderful visit. Wednesday we were in Pigeon Forge and went to Dollywood. Our first visit there and it was very nice. Funny thing, we stayed until closing and DD was playing at a water feature where you put a disk at the top and follow it through a bunch of different levels to the bottom. DD was about half way through when the CM working it told her to stop, get the disk and put it up cause it was 8:00 and time to close so she could go home. DD did as she asked, walked over to me and said "If we were at Disney they would have let me finish playing":lmao: I have to agree with her. Thursday we came home and Friday I went to work.

Due to the accident being considered a homicide, the bodies were not released until Wednesday, we were home in time for the memorial service. I'm glad we were here, but it was very hard, yet wonderful at the same time.

Amy, From what we understand the truck came across so quick that Danny just couldn't avoid it although he did try. Yes, Tammy (Danny's wife) lost her husband, father, mother and brother all at one time. You would think that someone would be totally devastated (which she was) and inconsolable, yet would you believe that she lead the memorial service? She and Dan co-pastor a church near New Orleans. The strength that woman has, yet at the reception I could tell she was getting to the end of her rope.

On Thursday, after we got home, I went to the studio one last time. A bunch of the girls had left flowers and other things out front. I went in and spent some time just looking at Mrs. Jeanne's pictures. She has a lot from when she danced and then through the years of teaching in the hallway leading into the studio.

On Friday, one of the guys at work took me out to the accident site. I just had to see it for myself. It was very hard, but after seeing where it was and then viewing the pictures I understand a bit more of what happened.

I will miss her. I will really miss seeing her car, parked in her spot in front of the studio and walking in hearing her say, "There's my pretty girls, are you ready to dance?"

Thank you both for being there for me and for your prayers. I have felt them.

Oh Lisa,

I am so sorry, my friend. :sad1: I wish we lived closer so I could give you a hug and a shoulder to cry on in person. Is there anything we can do?

I can't even imagine the pain that Tammy is going through right now. :sad1: Her strength in leading the memorial service is amazing. We will keep her in our prayers.

Please try and take it easy, Lisa. How is your DD doing?

Praying for you!

Lisa, I cannot believe that Tammy was able to lead that service. That strength came from God for certain. What a woman she must be. I just can't even imagine how you and the others in your dance community and town must be feeling. What a senseless tragedy. So why was the driver charged as a homicide? He must have been driving recklessly? How irresponsible when he was driving a semi.:sad2:

I am glad you went on with your vacation. That is too funny about dd and Dollywood. I have heard good things about that park, but in the end, nobody does it like Disney! Even Sea World, which I love could learn some lessons and don't even get me started on Universal!

It looks like we miss each other by 30 days at WDW. Wouldn't you know it! One of these days we'll have a Wish Meet in WDW all together!

Hang in there and I am still praying for you in the midst of this difficult time.

Amy and Tracy

Yesterday was a good day and today is going well also.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers. We are feeling them. Tracy, there are days when I could use that shoulder.

Yes, Tammy is an extrodinary person, just like her mother. She co-pastored with her husband. Not sure why the truck driver was charged. The investigators had to find something at the accident scene. or as one person told me, if there is a fatality and you were driving, then you go to jail until proven innocent. Not sure.

DD is doing okay. This week the assistant from her dance class is staying with her during the day. They are having fun baking, coloring, reading, playing games....and dancing. Callie told me that Aly dances every chance she gets and even showed her some dances she made up. I am taking this as a positive sign.

Another positive note. A new wellness program began this week at work. Each person is allowed three hours a week to exercise but it has to be done during work hours and on site. I love it cause I have not been able to walk due to DH being gone so much. For the first couple of months, while it is still so hot out, I am going to walk in my building. Those huge hallways are finally going to come in handy. In the Fall, I'll switch to the walking track at the Wellness Center.

Yes Amy, one day we will have to plan a Wish Meet. I would love that. We all love Disney so much, I am sure we would have a grand time.

It sounds like your dd is going pretty well, that is great the assistant from dance class is spending this time with her. I am just praying she doesn't give up dance and I am betting she won't! She sounds like she is a gifted little girl in that department and so many others.

That is great they are doing this wellness program. If they track things, they may find it saves them money on sick time and productivity issues since when people have time to take care of themselves they get sick less and perform more!

Yeah, I am not thinking walking outside in Mississippi in the summer would be a great idea!

I'm glad that your DD is doing okay. What a blessing that the assistant from the dance class is staying with your DD this week! :goodvibes It sounds like they are having a nice time together and the fact that dancing is involved is a very good sign! :goodvibes

Great news about the wellness program at work! What a great opportunity!!:cheer2:

I hope you have a nice weekend. :goodvibes Take good care of you!

Yes, Callie has been a God send. The girls have had a wonderful week. They are kind of sad that tomorrow is their last day together. DD asked for me to leave the camera out for them. She wants some pics of them together for her scrapbook.

I GOT TO WALK TODAY!!!!!!!!:banana::banana: It felt so good. I was only able to do 40 minutes, but it was great. Walking inside was a little weird at first, and those hallways just aren't as big as they seem when power walking. But Amy you are right, walking outside in MS in the summer is not a very smart idea. Last summer I would wait until after 6:30pm to go and still be drenched by the time I was done. I am so happy to have this alternative. While I am only required to track days, time and how long each day I exercise, I am going to track more than that. I am going to include weight and speed/miles with it.

I am doing okay, but not sleeping well. It's hard to go to sleep, but then I wake up exhausted. :faint: and don't want to get up. I am hoping to be able to sleep a bit this weekend. I am taking DD to a play that one of her friends is in Friday night and Saturday night, I am going to a jewelry party one of my friends is hosting. I don't wear jewelry, but I sure have a lot from all of these parties. My Sundays are free now, so I'll probably just hang around here and do little stuff, although the house could use a good scrubbing. I have been pulling weeds in the back this week. Both gardens are done and I got the patio done today. I did a little on the last garden in the back that is going to be re-done.

Does gardening count as exercise? My fingers sure got a work out from all the weed pulling.

Woohoo for a walk!!!!:cheer2: Great job, Lisa!

Gardening definitely counts as exercise! :thumbsup2

I hope you have a nice, relaxing Sunday.

Yesterday was busy, here is what I did.
4:40am - get up
5:30am - leave for work
6:00am - arrive to work
7:30am - met DH at the gate to get DS
8:10am - arrived early at doctor - DS sports physical
9:30am - headed back home
10:00am - stopped at home to get DS' firefighter equip
10:15am - register DS for school
10:30am - drop DS off at firestation to work
10:45am - register DD for school (2 different schools)
pick up lunch on way back to work
11:30am - back at work

and that was just the morning. :crazy2: at least it was my short day.

In the evening I took DD to see the play her friend was in. "Alice in Wonderland Jr." It was cute and the kids did a good job.

Today we cleaned house, did laundry, took newspaper recycles in and I went to a jewelry party. Fun, but I very rarely wear jewelry. I buy presents instead. Saw oldest DS for a few minutes after there party since it was near where he works.

Home now and tomorrow will be more cleaning and shopping. Haven't exercised, but I have been very aware of my food.

I am taking DD to meet a new dance teacher tomorrow. Callie (who stayed with DD this past week) called and told me that she signed up at a new school and all about it. She has known this teacher for several years and really likes her. The teacher studied under Mrs. Jeanne and does her classes the same. There is an additional class that is all ages that DD and Callie can be in together. Also, this teacher loves Disney and mainly uses that music. And here is the bonus. This school goes to WDW every other year for a workshop and to perform at MK. I have been praying for guidance, I am very optimistic that this is the way we are to go. Of course the main reason is that she studied under Mrs. Jeanne so I know that she learned properly.

Lisa, that sounds very promising on the dance school front. Keep us posted and I so hope it works out. This may be the answer you are looking for!

Great job getting that walk in, you'll get used to walking inside. It took me a few times to get used to our indoor track but now I love it. Especially on days like today when its 100 degrees outside!

I pray that this new dance opportunity works out for your DD. That's wonderful that the teacher was trained by Mrs. Jeanne! :goodvibes

I hope you have a wonderful day, Lisa!

Thank you both.

I signed DD up at the new dance school. Her friend Sophia is going to sign up again also and maybe a couple other girls from her class. She was very nervous and but when we walked in, one of her friends from school was there, it's his mother's dance studio. That made her happy. She was still unsure so after talking a bit in the waiting area, I got her to go into the studio to look around. Big dance floor, mirrors, and suddenly she was moving and dancing and flipping....with a smile on her face. While it is completely different, I knew she would be comfortable there. On the way home she said she still wasn't sure. I know it will be hard at first, but I see some promise there. She can't help but dance, she loves it.

I didn't tell her, but it was hard for me also. Joining a new school. After I dropped her off with Sophia for a while, I had to go out shopping. I stopped by the studio first and lit a few of the candles in the memorial out front and straightened things up a bit. I don't know how long I sat there.....

Walked a lot today throughout the day and have been careful with my food the past few days. Not really keeping track other than to make sure I try to eat a balance of things, minimize the snacking and watch portion control. I hate that the kids go back to school so early, but I am ready for a schedule again so I can get back to mine.

Lisa, I am so glad your daughter and her friend are going to dance again. That is just what Mrs. Jeanne would want. I really teared up reading how you lit the candles and sat at the memorial. Its so hard to lose a friend, especially one who is a part of your children's lives too. Hang in there, I am saying prayers for your healing everyone else's. Life is hard to figure out somtimes.

I also hate it that school is just around the corner, but like you am ready to get back to normal and to a schedule. Summers are always interesting to say the least!

Great job walking and watching your food. You are back in the groove!:thumbsup2

I'm glad that your DD likes the new studio and will have a friend or two dancing there with her. I know that this is hard on both of you though, Lisa.:grouphug: I am sending a gentle  and lots of prayers your way......

Great job getting your walk in!:cheer2:

I can't believe that school is right around the corner. Where has this summer gone?!?!?

I hope you have a nice evening!
