Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Lisa, I would have been so irritated with that power washer guy! I mean in this economy, you'd think he'd be so happy to have the work he'd get his buns out there. Maybe next weekend?

For me, there is nothing like cleaning, organizing and getting stuff done to get me out of a funk. Sounds like you are the same!

That is awesome you got 61 minutes on the wii, way to go!

Hope your computer is fixed! :goodvibes

Great job on the Wii!:cheer2: Cleaning the studio counts as exercise too!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a great day today!

Thanks Amy and Tracy

yes, Amy, nothing like putting stuff in order to make you feel better. I just get in these moods sometimes.

Tracy, I do believe the cpu is fixed. Last night it worked so much better. I just didn't have time to use it. :goodvibes

Yesterday, our busy day, went well. DD had dance and DS had soccer. DS is getting a cold, so he may have to stay home tonight from the firestation. We'll see.

I got 40 minutes on the WII yesterday. I am doing more areobics than yoga and strength training now and I think it is starting to pay off. I have more stamina now for more than just walking. Plus my leg muscles are firming up. You would think with all the walking I have done in the past year (yes, a whole year!) that my legs would be great, but I think I did too much of one thing. I am trying to mix it up more now. I'm not as young as I used to be so just walking isn't going to cut it anymore.

Food was not real good, but not too bad.

Mixing things up is really good for endurance and muscle tone. I am the same way, walking is my main gig for exercise and I have noticed that since I added the water workouts, I feel much more toned.

Hope ds shakes the cold, nothing worse than a springtime cold.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Amy. DS is feeling better, although still a little stuffy. He was quite miffed at me tonight because I would not let him go anywheres. and DD came home with a headache and felt bad. But a couple hour nap and she bounced right back. Now I can't get her to sleep.

Something wonderful happened this evening. I was doing the WII and DD was watching me. All of the sudden she says "Mom you are getting thinner." I said "thanks" and she goes, "No, I don't mean on the WII (my MII on there), for real life you are getting thinner.":cool1::woohoo: I have lost a couple pounds, but for a 7yr old to notice? :thumbsup2 I think it is all the hula hooping, it's helping that roll above my waist go down a bit. :goodvibes

That's great that DD noticed you are getting thinner! :cool1:

Glad your computer is fixed - technology is such a pain half the time! :rolleyes1

That is great your dd noticed! It always feels so good when our hard work is apparent. And you may have lost a little weight, but I bet you have lost a bunch of inches with all the toning you are doing in addition to you walking. Great job!

Glad ds is better, I always have that problem with mine when he's sick (keeping him resting that is). I hope nobody else catches it!:wizard:

That's great that your DD noticed your weight loss!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that your DS is feeling better. :goodvibes

Hope you have a great day today!

Thanks Ladies
Yesterday was a busy day all around. DS is better so he had soccer and DH had bowling. I was determined to do an hour on the WII so I let DD go with DH while I worked out, then I would go pick her up. Great plan, then oldest DS came over. Wasn't expecting him, but we had a nice visit. :goodvibes

Did the hour on the WII. and I can really feel it now in my stomach. But here is the odd thing Amy, I haven't really lost inches. Just a smidge. :confused3 Which is why I was determined to do the hour. I think I really need to step it up on my workouts if I want to get to the next (lower) level. And step it up I did.

Update on the financial part: I have three bills I am working on. The first one is scheduled to be paid off April 30. So far, so good and we are on schedule.:goodvibes

Lisa, stepping up those workouts will see those inches melt away! At the very least you are toning up and gaining muscle. You are a pretty much at your goal weight aren't you? If so, then even a smidge is a good thing to have happen!:thumbsup2

Glad you had a nice visit with your oldest ds! And that is great news on the financial front. One less bill to worry about very soon!

Have a great weekend.:)

Great job on your Wii workout, Lisa!!! Keep up the good work!!!:cheer2: The inches will melt away!:thumbsup2

I'm glad that you had a nice visit with your DS. :goodvibes

Way to go on your finances, Lisa!!! You'll have that first bill paid off soon!:thumbsup2

Have a great weekend!

Keep with the workouts, you will eventually see the inches go down. And as long as you can tell something is getting more muscular/smaller, etc, that is what really matters! :thumbsup2

Thanks Ladies!:goodvibes

DH is gone this weekend bowling, so it's just the kids and I. DS was gone pretty much all day. Soccer this morning (another mother took him as it was almost 2 hours away) and he didn't get home until 3:00, then he had to be at the school for 4:30 for the ROTC ball and it didn't get over until 11:00pm. He had a very busy day and went straight to bed when he got home.

DD had a friend spend the night last night and after she left this morning, we drove to the coast to the Disney store to pick up the Princess and the Frog DVD and use our coupon. We came home and I took a nap while she played in a tent I made her out of bar stools and sheets. This evening, we did half the grocery shopping. I am happy to say that with the exception of two items, everything else was either on sale, I had a coupon or both.:goodvibes Plus I now have two rebates to send in. :thumbsup2

No exercise yesterday or today, but I have been careful with food.

Amy to answer your question. I still have 13.5 pounds to go for my target weight, what I was when Katrina hit and all the craziness happened. That was not a good year and I didn't handle it well. But it's over and I am on my way back, slowly but surely. :goodvibes

Great job on your shopping bargains, Lisa!:thumbsup2

How did you like the Princess and the Frog? We still haven't seen it yet!

Hope you have a nice Sunday!

Tracy, we haven't watched it yet. DD and I tried to use DS' Playstation 3 to watch the blueray and we couldn't get it on. We currently only have that and a VCR in the Family room. The regular DVD player is in my bedroom and we never made it into my bedroom to watch it. So.....:confused3 I still haven't seen it.

No exercise yesterday either. Yesterday was so busy that I just couldn't fit it in. I was careful with food again. But I'm starting to miss it. Not sure if I will get to tonight either. I am going to try though.

DH had a good time on his bowling trip and seemed to post some decent scores. He was happy.

It's cold here again. Knew it would happen one more time before Easter, but Easter is still two weeks away so I'm wondering if maybe one more cold snap is on the way. We'll see.

No exercise again last night. I REALLY have to get back to it tonight. I'm hoping, although I do have a couple of things going on tonight, should still be able to fit it in.

Financial report: Our electric bill was down $80. I have really been watching the electric usage and working on the kids. Turn off the light when you leave the room. PLEASE!!!!. Also, we do not need every light in the house on as soon as the sun starts going down. Working on DH with that one. But, I was happy with the bill, it has been astronomical the past couple of months.

A bit of humor. DS loves the dancing banana  so much that he has taught several people at the bowling alley to do the . Now when someone gets a strike there are several people behind them :banana::banana:

Lisa, you will love Princess and the Frog. When dd and I saw that back in December I wasn't too enthused but I ended up really loving it.

No worrie about the exercise. You will get back on track and being on point with your food is very important, probably even more so than exercise in some ways.

If Katrina isn't a good excuse to put on a few pounds, I don't know what is! How much damage did your area sustain? Our church sends groups to New Orleans to this day to work on houses, if they are still doing it when dd is 16, we may all four go. And I could see you!:goodvibes

Way to go on the electric bill, Lisa!!!:cheer2:

Did you get a chance to exercise last night?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

No exercise last night and probably not going to happen tonight.:sad2: Food was a little messed up today, but I'll get back to it tomorrow. Nothing going on tomorrow so hopefully (praying) I will be able to do something.

Amy, please thank your church for continuing to support our area. People still live in FEMA trailers and on assistance. My old neighborhood mainly lost tons of trees (pine trees) and my house had three big pine trees on it. We lost all but one of the trees in our yard and most of our fence. The trees that fell on the house actually kept the roof from going when a tornado went over. When standing on our roof you could see the path the tornado took and our house was in it's path. Thankfully the damage was on the end of the house where the carport was. It took almost 4 weeks to get power and water to our house. My building at work lost the third floor and part of the second floor. Which is why we got a new building. Our town has more than doubled in size population wise, but services haven't doubled. Much more crowded now, which is stressful for me. That combined with everything else was just too much for me.
