Lisa & Pete's DCL PJ & Trip Report - WEDDING VIDEO POSTED!!!

I have been researching like crazy the past two days! I am so excited.

Lisa -- That is an awesome deal! If you haven't been to BOMA you definitely have to do that for dinner one night. It is awesome! :yay:

I think we are going to do Boma for Breakfast. I had already planned out all of the dinners. I am a crazy planner. LOL I wish Boma and or Jinko were open for lunch!

Wow that's a GREAT Deal! I've always wondered if renting points was worth it. That one obviously is!!

Okay, all caught up on the planning journal of our cruisemate!!! I love the bridesmaid dress you picked out, and your dress is beautiful!

Your new bridesmaid dresses are really pretty. They are definitely dresses that can worn again. I love your second dress as well. I think out of the three options that you can give to your guests for gifts: I would choose the memory box. It is something they can keep and you are right they can get dessert on the ship. Only 7 months to go, that is exciting but that means less time for me!

Thank you! I am not getting dress no. 2 since we have put our party back home on hold until May 2009! I love the bridesmaid dresses so much, I want one!

HOLY COW!!!!! $640 for 6 nights...that IS a steal - CONGRATS!!! :woohoo:

Hi could you tell me what point buying is??:confused3
I have been reading your site,and I'm enjoying it!!:cutie:
Thank you, kd

Buying/Renting points is when a Disney Vacation Club member sells you points to stay at the Disney Vacation Club resorts. The going rate for points is between 10-12 dollars a point!

THANKS FOR READING!

We have been looking at buying into DVC, but if you can rent from someone (at an almost cheaper every time); it does seem silly to buy in...I'm so happy for you and you have inspired me rent! Think you can share your awesome bargaining tips???

By the way, I don't think it's corny at all - I would be too!

you really got lucky with that guy. I really think we'll end up doing that for our VR. I wanted to do 5 nights at Disney, instead of just the 4, and it was looking to be about $2500 over the price of the cruise!! Right now it looks like WL would be less than 50 points for 5 nights. Even at $10 a point that's a heck of a savings!! The only thing is the uncertainity and not having any control over everything. ;) I kind of like to be in control. :lmao:

Jennifer

Oh I like control too, that is what I was most scared about, but he has been great. I have confirmation nos. and his home and cell numbers incase there is a problem. He even wants to see the wedding pictures! Sweet guy!

Hi,

I'm having a DCL wedding in August of 2008, I can say that Disney hasn't been as helpful with my group, we have a total of 20 people coming which is 9 cabins and when I first called Disney they told me they couldn't give me a group rates, I also called travel agents and no one was able to get me a group rate told me there was no group rate allowed...so my guests booked with independent travel agents who can get them the best rate...I then called up to see if maybe we can get an onboard credit or some kind of ammenitie for the group and we were told if everyone booked with Disney we could have so that made me mad they told me to tell my guests to cancel there cruises and book through disney and then they might be able to get a group rate...MIGHT, my fiance and I are so livid about that Disney is refusing to consider giving out group anything...We also haven't gotten anything in writing from them that the wedding will go on...Any suggestions you can give me to help me would be great.....

Thanks
Heather

OMG Heather that is awful! I am so sorry they have been so horrible! Since I am a travel Agent part time I have called and made everyone's reservations through the "Group Travel" department. They are also the ones who have told me about the group discount and gift. The discount is $5o off per cabin and if I fill 8 cabins (which I have) they will give us a stateroom credit of $400. Well worth it since it takes like 30 minutes and dealing with so so agents everytime I call and I will need to send out the documents and all of that. This is the group travel phone number, try them - 1-800-511-6333 To get the Magic Kingdom Photos you call Dara Blonde - 407-827-1577, Tell her you are a cruise bride and you want to book a MK photo session. If she gives you any trouble just remind her you are a fairytale wedding bride and you do qualify! Is Cathy Ingle your planner? Has she helped at all?
