Lisa Frank Coloring Book!!!!

I was excited about this until I saw the actual pictures. I feel like once you start adding all of those ridiculously intricate swirly abstract patterns into every nook and cranny it ceases to look like Lisa Frank. I know that's the style that most adult coloring books follow, but I'd rather color in a picture that looks like this:

Please someone explain this to me? I didn't even color as a kid

I'd rather be up a tree or building a fort

Wait. What? I'm very confused. Is this really a thing? I'm not trying to insult, just trying to understand my fellow travelers...

I've always colored. Even with my kids' stuff. I got a Millie Marotta book for Christmas and some colored pencils and I fell in love with it. I just find it relaxing. I kind of zone out while I do it. Since the "grown up" books are more intricate I feel a little accomplished when I finish a particularly complex one. Sounds lame but it works for me.

I've seen the adult coloring books in stores but haven't bought one yet- they're expensive! I think I'd prefer traditional kids' books and using crayons rather than colored pencils. Although as a kid, I used to like the Venus Paradise color-by-number kits. Anyone remember them? (Lisa Frank was after my time.)

Lisa Frank is so still a thing. LOL I have always been a huge Lisa Frank and Sanrio fan. I have always loved coloring too. I am looking forward to this book. My Dollar General does not have it yet. I would buy some children's Lisa Frank coloring books, but I don't like that they are an activity combo book.

I meant adult coloring generally, not Lisa Frank specifically. Ive since done a little browsing and realized it is just another thing I did not know was so popular. I guess I need to get out more...

Looks like a lot of effort. . .

Guess I'll just stick to drinking beer.
