Just got back from a fantastic thanksgiving weekend. :( got wine from gargen grocer but other members of my family drink captain Morgan's. Lol anyone know a place at delivers? We don't rent a car and to buy it at Disney is much more money. Also I was hoping to book my home resort(boardwalk) for next thanksgiving for myself and my family and I noticed that I can't get the first day 11 months from today on standard view!!??!! Is that a joke? I own there? Any advice on how to make sure I can secure a 2 bedroom and a studio standard view at the 11 month mark. I can't even believe I have to ask. I can't believe the first day isn't available already for nov 3.

On the liquor, just put it in your checked suitcase. We pack a whole travel bar when we go down.

We pack liquor in our checked bag. I also buy a bunch of nips for different drinks and they are usually plastic.

We stayed at BWV 2bed for thanksgiving last year , we walked it. I was too afraid not too, but actually it worked out and we didn't need to. I am thinking of thanksgiving again myself. Enjoy!

WeGoShop will deliver hard liquor.

I know you say you don't rent a car, but look into a one day rental simply for grocery or liquor. Last month we got a full size for one day picking up at the airport and dropping off at Dolphin for under $30.

If you have liquor beer or wine delivered to your hotel, will there be any problem with the front desk receiving it?

This is what we do also, less mistakes on the order, no tipping, inflated prices or delivery cost.

Tell me more....what car rental company? We are doing an adults weekend and my buddy and I would gladly pay the 30 bucks for a car to stop for beer rather than pay $8 each poolside.

That sounds like a plan! You could also grab your groceries and any other stuff you need (seems like we usually make a run to Walgreens too). Outlet mall? Chic-Fil-A?;)

We have a Costco membership and used them for the rental car. If we are flying down, I will look at a one day rental. Be sure to check both picking up at the airport and from a location close to your resort as the price differs. We often stay at Boardwalk since we are DVC members there and Budget/Alamo have a rental location at the Dolphin.

Unfortunately a lot of people are walking reservations now, often unnecessarily. They tie up inventory they don't even want, shutting out people who do want those nights but now cannot get them when their 11-month window opens.

So here's what you need to do. First, set up a wait list for your nights if you cannot get them when your window opens. Then you must stalk the online booking site several times a day over the next week so you can grab the nights you need as the walkers release them. It's a pain but it's your best option.

We hop the bus to DTD (marketplace) and then walk up to Goodings at "The Crossroads". We take a backpack. They have a small liquor store there, next to the grocery store.
I think the walk took us about 15 minutes each way. Alternately, you could grab a cab.

We have shopped at Goodings a couple of times. The prices seemed high and it was the dirtiest store that we have ever shopped in.

We rent a car and shop at Publics, Wal-Mart, or Costco depending on what we need.

We use Amy at We Go Shop, and she'll buy liquor for you (as well as traditional groceries). She even sourced a specialty liquor for us.
