DD says she heard that they are going to lift the ban on liquids/gels on flights again very soon . Can anyone confirm this???

THere is an updated list on the TSA site. I really have not paid too much attention to this, but, it was updated a week or so ago.english rose 47 said:DD says she heard that they are going to lift the ban on liquids/gels on flights again very soon . Can anyone confirm this???![]()

Each traveler is limited to ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top plastic bag [containing only] travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less [each]).
I kept it in my purse.keishashadow said:where should I put my chap stick/lip balm?
baggie or in pocket where i usually stick it?
Solid "stick" style chapsticks don't need any special treatment. The gooey style would go in your zip-lock quart bag with other liquid/gel items.keishashadow said:where should I put my chap stick/lip balm?

We are already planning Thanksgiving, and I have to fly in on Thursday morning. My mom is really stressed out and I want to bake a pecan and apple pie and just bring them as my carry-on. However, my mom is concerned that a pecan pie is too gel like. Anyone heard of any problems with gooey food substances?
(I may just chance it, as I'll be no worse off if I have to toss them, but they are sure as heck going in the trash. TSA can't have my pie)

We went to Orlando 10/1 and New Orleans TSA told me I could have 1 ziplock bag period. I had all my liquids etc in one but they wanted me to hand over all the others I use to organize my tote-with my cross stitch project, kleenex, etc.
Then on the way home Orlando TSA said I had to run the bag trhough seperate- seperate tray even. And that was after the guard already looked it through and approved it.![]()
Is there no consistency?

No lighters, that is on the TSA site. You can only have the drinks that you purchase in the "sterile area". I am not sure about yogurt, I would not eat that no matter where it came from. Sandwiches are fine, and anything that is not a gel or liquid or jello, yougurt, pudding, should be fine.english rose 47 said:So you can bring small toothpaste, possibly drinks purchased at airport only,. What aboutsmall yoghurts or sandwiches for flight or other food. What about lighters?? My the list goes on and how do you find out. I still think mailing is the best option for toiletries..
Now Carol, they are consistant. Consistanly inconsistant.CarolA said:NO! And that's why this whole control is just a mess.![]()
I still need to mail stuff like breakfast foods, snax and shampoo. As I 'm not taking any chances with lost luggage or spills in packed luggage. We use a cetain type of shampoo and would not be Happy Campers with a week without it Thanks for all the updates I"m sureeach airport willinterpret the regs differently.. Hence so much CONSISTANT inconsistancydisneyldwjr said:No lighters, that is on the TSA site. You can only have the drinks that you purchase in the "sterile area". Oh, yes, and the other poster's "liquid pies" would not be allowed. I am still trying to picture a "liquid pie" and the only thing I can come up with is a Key Lime Pie Martini, which I am sure would be allowed IF you purchased it in the sterile area.Toiletries, no problem in checked luggage. Save the postage and check the bag.
