Does anyone know how to setup a Linksys Wireless box for DSL service? My setup got totally demolished (thanks to a two hour frigging SAGA with SBC today that I'm not getting into, since my blood pressure has finally returned to normal), and I don't know how to redo it. I'm pretty good with software, but totally useless with hardware issues; an old friend set it up for me the first time, but now she's unavailable. Any help greatly appreciated!! :)

Easiest way is the router should be between the computer and modem.

Turn everything off and leave it off while you're hooking everything up. Then when you turn things on, start by turning on the modem first. Wait until all lights are a go. Then turn on the router - wait a couple minutes again. Then turn on your computer.

If using wired, the cable from the computer to the router should go into port 1-4 of the router. The cable from the router to the modem should go into the wan/lan port.

If you're running XP, delete your current connection and then run a new network setup/connection wizard. When it asks you the setting, you need the fourth setting - the one that says you're connecting through a router. Then finish the wizard.

Then from the original computer that you have your DSL account with, run the setup CD that Linksys provides. When it says what MAC address to use, you need to set it so that it clones the MAC address. Finish the wizard.

See if that helps. Good luck.
