Linking Florida Resident Tickets from Another Account

I'm meeting my friends from Florida and they'll obviously take advantage of the resident discounts. I don't live in Florida so I will buying a regular priced ticket myself separately. If they buy the tickets on their own Disney account, can I link them to mine since I'm the one that has the room reservation?

I currently have them in MDE as managed accounts. If I click the "Connect Through a Disney Account" link will that allow them to purchase/attach the tickets themselves? Really want to be able to make FP+ reservations for all of us 60 days out.

Yes have them link them to their own mde and then connect through a Disney account and delete the managed accounts

Should they create the account on their own first or is it fine for me to send them the invitation myself?

If they haven't created their own MDE, you can just list them in your MDE. It's easier that way.
