Linking e-Tickets from Vendor to DLR App

Hey: Disney World vet, but newbie to Disneyland here. So confused by the differences in the DW ticket/fastpass/MDE process and the DLR process. I am looking at getting DLR tickets through an online vendor like Undercover Tourist or LastMinute Travel. So, they send me an e-Ticket via e-mail, right? Which I then present at the gate to get the "actual" ticket, right? If so, then can I link that e-ticket to the DLR app ahead of time to save a couple minutes in getting MaxPass? Or do I have to wait until I get the "actual" ticket at the gate?

Yes they will send you an email with the tickets that you can link them ahead of time. I used LMT last summer and it was easy to link them before hand. When we got to the gate and scanned on the phone they then printed out hard tickets for us. Once we were in the gate I purchased MaxPass on the DL app. Be sure to have a credit card already entered as it makes it much quicker. I want to say it automatically picked up my credit card I had on the MDE app as I use the same email so all you need is thr 3 digit CVC code. You will need to purchase the MaxPass each day you plan on using it.

I agree with the post above. I bought LMT tickets in December and had no problem linking them beforehand. When we got to the park we entered via the app and got physical tickets printed. We just had to purchase max pass via the app each morning when we entered the park but it was very quick and didn’t slow us down at all.

Here's what I did, and how linking the tickets saved my rear!
I ordered tickets from Parksavers
They sent physical tickets, I loaded the codes into the app. It was super easy, and gave me a barcode that was scanned at the gate each morning. Thank goodness!
Because I got out to CA and realized, I'd left our tickets laying in the folder they were shipped in at home, 3000 miles away.
But, since I'd loaded them both in the app, I was able to scan in to the parks without any issue, as was DH (he signed in to the app on his phone, using my account)
And we bought the MaxPass as soon as we entered each morning.
I guess I'd probably have been able to get replacement codes or something from the reseller had I not brought them or linked them but it's one hassle I am glad I didn't have to worry with.

The previous post is a good example of why it's a good idea to take photos (with clear images of the bar codes) of each ticket. Keep the photos in a safe place (on your phone, on an additional phone in case your phone dies, hard copies in the hotel safe, etc.). If the tickets get lost/stolen or if your phone dies or if the app eats your tickets (rare, but has been reported here), you will be able to get the tickets replaced quickly and easily at Guest Services by showing the photos with the bar codes. Super easy safety measure, which you'll probably never need to use, but which you'll be really glad to have if you ever need it.

One word of advice, if you link your tickets ahead of time and make sure you match the names you put on the physical tickets to the names on the linked tickets in the app (match the barcode numbers). We messed this up last time and while it isn't a huge problem there were occasions where it became a hassle (for example when one person was using the app for fast passes and another was using the tickets).

Also if you get your tickets emailed to you make sure you save that email with the attachment. That way even if you forget to take the print outs you still at least have the email to go back to.
