Linking AP Voucher to MDE

I won't be going to WDW until the fall but I will probably buy an AP soon (first one not renewal) here shortly in the event of a rate increase.

I have my reservation onsite.

DH & I will both be getting AP's. Am I able to link them both to MDE and book our FP+ 60 days out with just the voucher number? Then when we get to the world I know we have to go exchange the voucher for our actual pass. I'm not sure if I'm able to link or if I have to actually have my AP. It's not worth buying an AP if I can't link the voucher as I don't want to miss out on 8 days of FP+ at the 60 day window.

Thanks!

I linked mine bought at Disney store which took act of god and a call to tech support to get it done. and friends bought online and used will call number to link hers.

I bought mine through the Disney website. Since I was signed on to MDE, it automatically linked, I didn't have to do anything.

I linked ours using the voucher number when we bought them last year, no problem.

We linked ours and then later linked DD's and everything went fine

We buy our annual passes at our local military base and get the green voucher and have never had a problem linking the vouchers using the number on the back. :goodvibes

you can absolutely link an AP voucher or will call number to make fastpasses. Before you enter a park, you must stop at Guest Relations (I think you can also use a ticket booth) and activate your AP.

Just to pull this together and clarify, please let me know if this is not accurate.

We have a trip planned with an arrival date of April 4 staying at a DVC resort.

Our 60 day window for making FP reservations opens on February 3.

If I purchase an AP before February 3, I will be able to link that ticket to my MDE account using the confirmation number for that ticket.

On February 3 I will be able to make FP+ reservations for our arrival date of April 4 and the other 6 days of our trip.

When we arrive at WDW on April 4, I will take that voucher to guest relations at a park or DTD and have the AP activated and ready for park admission.

That AP will be good for admission for 1 year, beginning April 4, 2015 (the date it is activated, not the day it is purchased or the day it was used to make FP reservations.

This is how it has worked for us in the past, and I think there is confusion sometimes about using an AP that has been purchased, but not activated, to make FP reservations.

If things have changed at all since we did this the last time, I would like to know.

Looks correct to me.

-Bought AP at AAA store to save some money. Received a receipt and voucher.
-Went on to MDE and input the voucher number they showed us.
-Instantly was on the MDE and ready to book FP+.
-Couldn't have been more easy.
