Link To The 1st Star Wars Cruise Navigators

Just got home from the SWDAS cruise. Happy to answer any questions!

I posted pics of the SWDAS dinner menu on another thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/fa...day-rotational-dining-question.3444644/page-6

Thanks!! Did you have to sign up for the Star Wars meet & greets, it says something along the lines of filling out the form & returning it by Sunday?

Also I can't seem to find on the initial navigator where to go to sign up for the mixology/tasting classes?

There was a form for SWDAS meet & greets left in our room on the first night. We had to rank our preferences among three choices: Bespin, Dark Side, and I can't remember the third because it was our third choice! We had to drop off the form at Guest Services. Tickets were then delivered to our room. We had Bespin at 9:50 on the morning of SWDAS and the Dark Side at 10:30 the next day. They didn't tell you who was who, so we guessed. Bespin was Boba Fett. I don't know the other two because we ended up oversleeping and missing our Thursday morning time with the Dark Side (we stayed up way late enjoying the SWDAS festivities!). I know Chewbacca was at one of them and I assume that was not the dark side. :)

The mixology and other class sign up was at guest services.

It was too windy to dock at Castaway Cay. They tried three different times throughout the morning, but had to give up. There was a storm on its way as well, so the Captain said we would have had to leave early even if we could have docked.

That's too bad. But it looked like a great cruise, anyway!

The Tube had Captain Phasma and Darth Vader, O'Gills had Chewy, and D Lounge had R2 and 3PO. Even though it had been said that these would be transformed into canteenas, there were no sets. The Star Wars night show on deck 11 featured Vader, Phasma, Darth Maul (who showed his saber skills), Chewy, R2, 3PO, Jango Fett, Securra, Zam Wesell, Stormtroopers, Jawas, Sand People, . We had rain 4 of the days. with 52 mph winds, there was no way to dock the Fantasy at CC. Friday afternoon looked like the north Atlantic.

Did you attend the Jedi training academy sessions? I'm curious how the went about picking the kids. I've heard it's random.

I guess I didn't realize there would be sign ups, I figured it would be all walk ups.

Did you enjoy the cruise? Did it feel like a regular Disney cruise with just 1 day of Star Wars?

I really thought there would be sets for the canteenas, how strange!! Did it just seem like they weren't prepared?

We were late to one and they had already started. The kids didn't want to stay and watch so we left. We didn't make it back to another session (I think there were 5), so I don't know how they picked the kids.

We really had fun on the cruise. Even though the "official" Star Wars activities weren't until day 5, there was Star Wars stuff everywhere and people were wearing all kinds of Star Wars themed clothes starting on day 1. We also enjoyed seeing all 7 movies in the theater.

The only bummer of the cruise was missing Castaway Cay.

What did they do since you couldn't go to Castaway Cay?!?!!??!

They added a bunch of activities including additional movie showings, alcohol tastings, character appearances, trivia, family crafts, etc. They had a new Navigator out about 20-30 minutes after the Captain said we weren't going to make it to Castaway Cay. They did a good job of putting together a bunch of activities to keep people busy.

Thanks! Will you be doing a trip report? I'd love to read it!

I'm wondering if the pirate night festivities were still on? I know there are no fireworks for pirate night (moved to the SWDAS day). But were people in pirate gear on 'pirate night'? I have the kids booked for that pirate makeover in the BBB and wondering if it is worth keeping. Perhaps with the Star Wars excitement, the pirate stuff is taking a backseat??? Thanks

I'm curious to know how much pirate theme there is on pirate night. Since I'm putting a lot of effort into my costume, I plan to wear it that night, assuming I get it done in time. Even if I'm the only adult guest in pirate garb, if it's finished, I will be wearing my costume.

I would love to know about how kids are picked for the Jedi Training if anyone has that information. I am also interested in the pirate night activities. We are trying to decide if we are going to bother with pirate costumes for this cruise.

From what I've been able to find out, it is random. If they treat it like at DL, the kids all gather in front of the stage/performance area before the session starts. They are then selected by a CM. These kids have usually done something to get noticed: be it jumping around or having on something that catches the CMs attention.
