So I decided to forgo cleaning today and just do another Flashback update or two. I'm just really in no mood to clean today!
OK, so trip # 2 I have only one picture for. I know I have more somewhere, I just have no idea where.
On this trip, the cast was:
Me, my sister Steph (in the Slinky t-shirt), my brother Mike, Lumar, my step-dad, and my mom.
We went in July 2004 and stayed at CBR. I think I remember us being in Barbados, Building 14. I definitely remember it was a long, hot walk to the main building, which is where we ate breakfast everyday. This was the first time Lumar had ever been to Disney World.
I know we went to the Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian and I liked the show, but I wasn't crazy about the food.
I finally went on ToT this trip and in the ride photo you can tell I'm terrified. Of course, it's lost with the rest of the pics from this trip.
The main thing I remember is that everyone was hot and cranky during this trip. My sister was a raving b-word the entire week. Apparently, she was under the impression that she was just going to lounge by the pool at the resort the whole trip, and that she wasn't going to have to go to the parks. It's funny, because the whole time she kept complaining that she didn't like amusement parks and now, all her and her boyfriend talk about is going to WDW with me and Lumar.
Lumar wanted to do all the pressed penny machines, but everyone kept yelling at us that we were being "too slow." I still don't know why my mom wouldn't let us all split up and do what we wanted...but it made for a very frustrating trip. My legs hurt so bad from speed walking everywhere
We had no idea what FastPass was, so we stood in line for EVERYTHING (keep in mind, this was the middle of July!).
I remember on one day, my brother and sister stayed at CBR for the day and me, Lumar, my mom, and step-dad went to Typhoon Lagoon. I know we had a lot of fun that day, just the four of us. Lumar and I talk about going back all the time but we never get there. Maybe for our next trip I'll schedule an extra day for it.
I'm pretty sure we watched Wishes, but I know we never watched Illuminations or Fantasmic.
After being rushed through this trip, Lumar and I decided we had to go back on our own and have a "real" vacation.
Trip #3
For this trip, Lumar and I had decided to stay off-site to save money. I can not remember for the life of me, the name of the hotel we stayed at. It was nice, and it offered a shuttle to the parks. The shuttle, however, only dropped off and picked up from each park once a day. It didn't leave for AK until like 10am, but it left for MK at 8am. I remember that the pickup time from MK was like 9:30pm so after Wishes we had to hightail it through the park. We did get to watch Fantasmic and we both fell in love with it! I have no memory of watching Illuminations so I don't know if we saw it or not.
We were there from May 15 - May 21, 2005 and got to go for the Flower & Garden Festival. We did a TON of character meets and rode everything we could! We finally discovered FastPass and used Photopass a lot.
We had no ADRs, so we ate QS for every meal of the day. I have no recollection of what we did for breakfast.
Here are some random pics I pulled from the scrapbook. I'll start with MK, even though it was our last day.
The outfit I am wearing in this picture I bought earlier that week. We had gone on the Backlot Tour at (what was then) MGM Studios, and I got soaked in Catastrophe Canyon. I had been wearing light pink shorts and once the shorts got wet, you could see through them.
So we rushed over to Keystone Clothiers and picked up new clothes for me. I washed them at the hotel so I could wear them again to MK at the end of the week.
The Incredibles had just come out (I don't even think we had seen the movie yet when we took this pic) :

And from AK:
On our MGM day, we went into a store and decided to just try on a bunch of hats. I ended up buying the Minnie ears that are on a headband and I wore them to MK at the end of the week. We sat down to watch Wishes and I got up for something...I want to say I went to get Lumar Dole Whip but I don't know if I knew about it yet. As I was walking, a couple from Spain stopped me and the wife thought I looked so cute in the Minnie Ears that she asked if I would take a picture with her.
I cried so hard on the bus back to the hotel that night. I was so NOT ready to leave yet! The bus driver for our shuttle was a complete maniac. He was up on curbs, hitting tree branches, and taking turns so sharp I swore we were going to tip over.
Lumar and I decided we were going back before this week was even finished. And we knew we DEFINITELY wanted to stay on site. Not just because we were terrified of the shuttle rides, but also because we didn't like the strict schedule.
So that's it for now! I have one more Flashback trip to post! Not sure if I'll get to it tonight or not but I'll try!

my brother and I were convinced that's how Fastpass worked and kept giving people "the evil eye" as they zoomed by us in lines.
Who, if I happen to overhear, I say to them 'You know it's free right?' and continue to walk by them.
