LINK TO MY TR POSTED 10/30 - I'm Ali & I'm Addicted to Disney Planning - Oct '10 PTR

Wow, what a nice playlist! I dont' even think I have heard most of these songs. I might have but I probably don't know each song's title yet. :rotfl:
I do admit the Carousel of Progress's theme is pretty catchy. The CoP is my favorite attraction to go to when it's super hot outside, and when our legs are so tired from walking. I find it a real pick me up! The airconditioning doesn't hurt either.

I scoured iTunes looking for anything Disney! That's how I found all of the cover songs! There actually used to be a website that you could go to download park music - I got Reflections and The Jammin' Jungle Parade music from there...but Disney made them take the site down. :sad1: The other park music that I have is on WDW CDs that I actually bought at WDW. They had a Magic Kingdom Event Music CS that has Boo-To-You, Hallowishes, and all of the music from the P&PP on it, and there is another one that has Sorcerer Mickey on the cover - it's 2 disks and has the them music for the different lands/parks as well as music from the attractions. I can't remember the name of it...I'll have to check when I get home.

OMG I have to get Soarin for my Ipod! I have a Disney playlist too, but it's mostly just songs from the classic movies, with a few other songs mixed in! And Carousel of Progress...gotta get that too! :cool1: I have Wishes on my Ipod, but not Illuminations, I should get that too! You have lots of great songs that I never even thought of looking for! :worship: :rotfl:

oh...all those songs. To enjoy that year round. Excellent idea . :thumbsup2 Love your list!

Actually, it's funny you say that because I drive Lumar absolutely NUTS with my list making. If I ever get him back on here, he will tell you! I actually have a "List" app on my Ipod so I can make electronic lists and stop wasting paper but it's just not the same! He yells at me because I use all of his notebooks meant for school work to make random lists in! :rotfl2:

She doesnt drive me nuts with her list making, if anything I like things to be organized. What drives me nuts is that she spends time making lists and then leaves them home when we go out to pick up said listed items
but watcha gonna do right? :confused3

The name of the CD that "Soarin'" is on is called Walt Disney World Official Album (creative, huh?) and if you click here you should be able to see what the album cover looks like in case you want to search for it on ebay.

I had to download Illuminations from the site that no longer exists. :sad1:

I actually looked for the Wishes soundtrack on iTunes but they didn't have it and I was going to buy it when we were at WDW in October but it was a lot of money and I just wanted one song....

Thanks! I actually realized that I forgot to put the Jammin' Jungle Parade on there...and Lumar pointed out that I left off The Haunted Mansion... Oh well, there is always the next PTR!

Touché :rolleyes1

I found Wishes on Lime Wire...which I don't have anymore. My DH deleted it because he said he's been hearing things about how it gives your computer viruses so we don't really want to deal with that! :rotfl:

I'm definitely going to look for that CD with Soarin on it! Whenever I'm in WDW I want to buy CD's but I never actually do it! I think I will this year! :)

That one is definitely worth the money! It's two CDs chock full of WDW music!

So I've had a couple hours here to look over the new F & W menus.

While I'm a bit disappointed that our favorite foods from last year have been replaced, I am beside myself with anticipation for the new foods that will be available this year.

Keep in mind, Lumar and I are debating on changing our last park day from MK to Epcot. If we decide to do that, we will have all day to eat around the world, before heading to dinner at Ohana (which I may reschedule for a later time, if possible, to allow for more F & W Festival food.)

Here is my list of foods I hope to try.

Argentina:
- Roasted corn & cheese empanada
- Grilled beef skewer w/ chimichuri sauce and boniato (which is basically sweet potato)

Belgium:
- Freshly made waffles w/ berry compote and whipped cream

Brazil:
- Grilled pork skewer w/ farofa (which is a flour mixture)

Canada:
- Maple glazed salmon w/ lentil salad
- Chicken chipotle sausage w/ seet corn polenta (boiled cornmeal)

China:
- Pork pot stickers
- Xinjiang BBQ chicken stick

Germany:
- Nurnberger sausage in a pretzel roll
- Apfel strudel w/ Werthers Original Karamell Sauce

Ireland:
- Warm chocolate lava cake w/ Bailey's Irish cream ganache

Italy:
- Baked cheese ravioli w/ creamy bolgnese sauce & melted mozzarella

Mexico:
- Tamal de Pollo (chicken tamale)
- Taco de Chilorio (pork taco)

Poland:
- Kielbasa & potato pierogies w/ caramelized onions & sour cream

Puerto Rico:
- Aspao de Pollo (chicken soup with rice)
- Medianoche sandwich
(This is actually a Cuban sandwich...last year they also seem to have combined the Cuban and Puerto Rican booths into one. The sandwich has roast pork, ham, mustard, swiss cheese, and pickles on Challah bread)
- Bacardi Frozen Torched Cherry Colada

South Africa:
- Seared beef tenderloin w/ sweet potato puree & mango BBQ sauce

I was just looking at the F&W lists earlier! I'm going to do the same thing, post all the things I want to try, seems like there will be lots of good food there! I can't wait to go to F&W! Have you done it before? :cool1:

yes, mam! In 2007 and 2009! SO MUCH FOOD!!!!!

Over the last few days, I've been seriously considering ordering one of the famous cakes that you can special order. I made the mistake of watching the Disney Delights special on The Food Network last week and ever since I saw that I convinced myself that I needed to find a way to incorporate a cake into our trip somehow.

So I subscribed to the Cake Chatter thread here on the DIS and now I don't know what to do with myself!

Here are just a few examples of cakes people have gotten:

Sooo...I spent almost the entire day perusing the pictures and the information and found that if I want a REALLY good cake like the ones above, I pretty much need to go with one of two places: The bakery at the Contemporary or the bakery at the Grand Floridian. You can order it from the Cake Hotline (yes, that's really what it's called) and they can pretty much deliver it anywhere, but it won't be anywhere near what's in the pictures above. They usually do regular buttercream frosting only with only mild customization...most people have complained about spending a lot of money on a cake they could have bought at their local grocery store.

There were a lot of people who ordered cakes (and were nice enough to share their pictures and experiences) and it seems that the GF or the CR are the best.

The problem is that they will only deliver to your room if you're staying AT their resort...OR they can deliver it to one of the restaurants in that particular resort. Since we are staying at CSR, I could not have a cake made at the Contemporary and delivered to us, nor could I order it from the Contemporary and have it delivered to any restaurant except one actually at the Contemporary.

We are eating at the GF once and at the CR once....both times, however, are for breakfast. I certainly don't want cake for breakfast, nor do I want to have to go back to CSR to deposit it in the room then go back out to the park.

Lumar thinks it's more trouble than it's worth and I slightly agree. We don't really have a reason to have a specially ordered custom cake made (unless we make it a "Congratulations on Your Impending Pink Slips!" cake  ) and they can be expensive...around $100 or so. It's just something I really wanted to do. This would have been a lot easier if they would deliver it anywhere. :confused3

However, I'm thinking about canceling our ADR at Hollywood & Vine anyway on 10/24 (since I'm really nervous about it based on all of the horrible reviews it gets)...We could leave DHS at 7:30 and go to a late dinner at either the GF or CR. But this means we would miss EMH and we would have to see Fantasmic on our other DHS day ortherwise we won't see it at all and that can't happen.... I guess it will probably have to wait until another trip.
