OK this is now going to be my 3rd attempt to post this!! I got smart this time and copied it before I tried to save it! HAHAHA! I WIN!!
First I wanted to mention this website I found yesterday:
http://www.2719hyperion.com/2008/07/who-lives-in-echo-lake-apartments.html
If you like Disney lore and legend, it's a great site to browse through.
So anyway, completely un-trip related...I just have to tell you a short story and then ask for some advice....
A few days ago, an old friend that I haven't seen or talked to in a few years, posted on her Facebook page that she really hates not having HBO because she is missing the new season of True Blood. Lumar and I big fans, and I had posted a reply to her, saying (jokingly) that she should come watch it at our house. Since we haven't spoken in a long time, I didn't expect to get an email from her saying "were you serious coming to your place on Sunday night?"
So of course, I felt bad and I (since I DID offer...) and told her sure, come on over. But of course I'm wishing that I had just kept my trap shut. It's not that I mind, but that means that I now have to actually CLEAN my house, and since we haven't talked in so long, I'm worried that there will be long periods of awkward silence.... So what do I do? I have her cell number but she does not have mine (that I know of). Do I text her tomorrow afternoon and pretend that our power/cable went out? Or do I suck it up? They are running a 3 episode marathon tomorrow night from 9pm - 12am (each episode is an hour long) to catch people up on what's happened so far this season...which means she will get here around 8:30pm and then be here until after midnight.Seriously....what do I do?? I don't want her to KNOW that I'm blowing her off but at the same time, I'm really not up for entertaining a long lost friend for 4 hours.
OK so on to trip related issues.
Over the last couple of weeks, Lumar and I have been tossing around the idea of going to see La Nouba again. We've seen it twice, the last time being in 2007. I can order the tickets through ticketmania.com for $88 each, which is cheaper than the box office price, but we still haven't even bought our tickets for MNSSHP. Those are $55 each and we're going to 2 parties. So between the two Halloween parties, and La Nouba, we're looking at an additional $200 per person. If we decide to go, I will add it into the schedule for Thuirsday 10/21. We'll be at DHS that day, have dinner ressies at Mama Melrose's for 5:20pm and we can head out of the park right after dinner so we can go back to CSR and shower and change before the show starts at 9pm.
As far as adding in a detour to Beaches and Cream, it is within walking distance to both Epcot and DHS, so we'll probably just wing it depending on our moods. The possibilities are 10/20, 10/24, and 10/27.
We are going to my mom's tomorrow for a picnic so I will hopefully be able to talk to my brother a little more about what's going on in his life. He did text me today to let me know he was waiting for someone to call him about a job. He is as bad as I am with changing his mind. A week ago, he wasn't bothering to look for a new job because he's supposedly starting school....
Well, I'm off to clean my apartment for my pending visitation tomorrow night. Please let me know what you guys think I should do!
We'll be at MK on the 23rd! We should meet up that day, too!
We're planning on buying tickets for our second MNSSHP on the 26th! (I think we're going to do that tonight!)
Hope everything works out on the personal front! Family issues are so hard to deal with!
BTW, if you want to work on meeting up, would you send me a message on FB with your cell number? I'll get mine back to you then, too!
You could text her and tell her that you or Lumar need to get up really early the next morning and you can't have people over really late. Let her subscribe to her own HBO or rent it on DVD!
Did you hear they extended free dining? Not sure if you are on the dining plan but it could save a ton. Some dates are blacked out but it happens for part of your trip.

So what did you end up doing about your FB friend? I totally understand how you feel though, everytime I ask people to come over or stop by anytime, I'm like, SHOOT that means I'll actually have to clean and be entertaining for a while and often times, I am just too lazy!
How is your brother's job search going? Hope he can make it to Disney with you guys, but I think being able to pay rent is pretty important too!
Yay for getting your tix to MNSSHP!!
WOHO for MNSSHP tickets!!!
I need to buy our second day, but we haven't had a chance to do it! Did you order yours on the phone or the website? We did our first party over the phone but that was before they added the option on to the site.
You are the queen of lists!Funny I love "it's a great big beautiful tomorrow", I hum it all the time!
Boo to you is the BEST!
I have an entire playlist on my iPod devoted to Disney songs...probably 200 songs in all. I have original songs from Disney movies and TV shows, as well as various covers that's I've found, and also music straight from the parks. I have too many favorites to do a Top 10 so you get a Top 20 instead. These are no particular order...just a random assortment.
20. "Stand Out" - Mitchell Musso (originally from A Goofy Movie).
This is a cover from one of the Disneymania CDs. I actually don't like his other stuff (although I love him on Hannah Montana!), but I really like his version of this song.
19. "All For One" - High School Musical 2
I really liked HSM2, and Lumar and I were at WDW in October 2007 and again in March 2008 while DHS had the HSM2 float. This song immediately transports my mind to DHS (plus it's just a fun song!)
18. "Heffalumps & Woozles" - Winnie the Pooh and The Blustery Day.
This is my favorite episode of Winnie the Pooh (hello? the first time you meet Tigger!) and this song just brings me back to the good old days.
17. "Up Is Down" - Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End Soundtrack. My favorite song on the album and they played it the whole night during the P&PP in 2008. It was pouring rain but it was fun anyway and this song reminds me of that night.
16. "One Little Spark" - Journey Into Imagination with Figment
I love Figment....that's all I can say!
15. "That's What Friends Are For" - The Jungle Book
One of my favorite Disney movies for one...and the double entendre in this song cracks me up. The fact that it's 4 vultures singing the song and saying "We've never met an animal we didn't like" is hilarious to me. I'm dying to see if I can get the Harmony Barbershop Quartet to sing it for me.
14. "Under The Sea" - Manheim Steamroller (Originally from The Little Mermaid, but this version can be found on the Manheim Steamroller Meets The Mouse album). So relaxing....just a really good rendition of the song.
13. "Fantasmic!"
I have the whole thing, with the talking parts and all and I love it. It just makes me feel good.
12. "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth"
I have just the first 20 minutes (before the lady starts singing) but I get goosebumps every time I hear it.
11. "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" - Jim Brickman (Originally from The Lion King). Jim Brickman did a whole Disney cover album and it's fantastic. No singing...just him playing the piano and occassionally some other instruments thrown in. This song in particular is just beautiful...although his cover of "Cruella DeVille" is amazing as well...it's sounds just like it does in the movie when Roger plays it while Cruella is visiting...first the piano then moving on to the trombone. I love it.
10. "Bet On It" - High School Musical 2
I was reading another trip report a while back and the DISer had put the HSM2 soundtrack on in the car. She then recorded her husband (who was driving at the time) rocking out to this song - as they called it "The Angry Troy Song."
9. "The Bare Necessities" - Harry Connick Jr. (Originally from The Jungle Book)
When I was younger, I had bought a CD called "Simply Mad About the Mouse." It was essentially the very first Disneymania CD with covers of Disney songs by a random assortment of people (not the latest and greatest Disney Channel stars). This is a GREAT cover with a perfect feel to it.
8. "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" - Carousel of Progress
Seriously, who doesn't love this attraction? Even my brother likes it! And sometimes, looking forward to a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow is all that gets me through the Great Big Horrible Today.
7. "The Tree of Life Theme" - Animal Kingdom
If you want to be immediately transported (in your mind, anyway) to AK, this is the song to listen to.
6. "Soarin'"
You can almost smell the oranges when you listen to it. And if you close your eyes and imagine riding it...goosebumps! Plus it's my favorite ride in all of WDW
5. "Splash Mountain Medley"
A lot of people hate this song as much as they hate the IASW song but it's just a great feel good song. The version I have takes you through the whole ride.
4. "Boo To You" parade music
MNSSHP is my favorite special event. There's no better way to relive it on a daily basis than by listening to this song. It just brings back so many good memories.
3. "A Star is Born" - Hercules
I have no idea why, but I LOVE this song. Especially when I'm in the car alone and I can sing along at the top of my lungs as if I actually have talent.
2. "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride" - Jump 5 (originally from Lilo & Stitch)
This cover is off of another Disneymania CD. They play the original at Ohana (during breakfast at least) and listening to this song just puts me in such a good mood. Plus it's upbeat and fun!
1. "Trust In Me" - Selena Gomez (Originally from The Jungle Book)
Just an AWESOME cover! Haunting like the song is supposed to be, but upbeat and fresh. I was singing this song in a dream I had the other night.
So there you have it. My Top 20 Disney songs.
In other news...I really feel that The Passporter should come with pages that are more white-out friendly....like maybe if they were actually WHITE instead of BRIGHT YELLOW.... I feel like such a freak...there is at least one layer of white-out on every page.![]()
