line cheaters at Princess Fairytale hall

I am grateful for the meet and greets because they take large parts of the crowd and tie them up in stupid-long lines all day, out of the way of the rest of us who want to get to the rides.

Good call. I'm lucky I have boys - no Frozen, BBB, or CRT cra$$$iness for us. Just rides, rides, rides (and a much less expensive and faster trip to Pirates League)!

I really think Gracie meant that if someone is going to push past her husband to cut the line, they're going to have a hard time doing it because it's not like he's some petite little flower that can easily be pushed.

I said it before, and I'll say it again - if someone tries to get past me and my family waiting on line, they'll hear me tell them they're not cutting me, and I'll be calling a CM over to resolve it. If you want to see the princesses, get on line like everyone else.
exactly thank you.

And I can agree with that irshnyc.. What I cant agree with is those people who decide they are the moral enforcers of everyone. And name calling. Name calling is just childish (Im guilty of it too). I didn't spend thousands of dollars to come see people fight in a line. It would make my youngest dd very uncomfortable. Tell them assertively and then if that doesn't work call a CM. People freak out and make big deals about things that really don't need to be

Am I the only one wondering why so many people keep saying "on line"?? It is IN line, not ON line.

Okay...just had to get that out there. Continue on with your bickering. Lol
Different places say ON line instead of in line. Yes, it is in line to me, too.

I like a bit of levity as we all get brave behind our keyboards. :rolleyes1

If I am walking over to an area where there are people "in" a line. I am going over there to get "on" the line. Once there I am "in" line.

Thanks!

Haha, you got that correct! on line!

So if you leave a line, are you getting out or off??

I've never heard of that until now. Makes no sense to me. Lol

I use them interchangeably. (Native NYer who lived in the South for a while and now is back up North).

Channel your inner South on this one. j/k

True, one father with a few children will not affect the others waiting in line much. True, you are on vacation and should not let little annoyances ruin your entire day. However, to assume that your family has the right to bypass others who are waiting patiently and appropriately is rude and self serving. I was taught that you enter the line at the back. You don't get to move up a line simply because you know someone further on so your group should enter as one. If you have to take a bathroom break then you are forfeiting your spot in line and should rejoin the queue at the back.

Thanks!

Off line of course! The "in line" does not bother me. I do not even notice the difference and use them interchangeably.

It may not have been meant that way, but it comes across as "My big husband is gonna POUND you, you tiny peon!"
That's all I have to say about it.

ON line, eh? Where besides NY is that a thing?

Now that will stick with me forever. Like the British way of dropping a preposition (and an H): "We're going to 'ospital"

Well if you look at what was written, I said its hard to move him out of the way. Meaning you would physically be trying to move him, not he would be pounding anyone. And it was in response to someone who said they would physically move him (and I also said I would find a cm).

So, how many families are acceptable between when you enter the line and when you reach your goal (attraction, character, meal...)? Do you let one family meet up with their placeholder and then stop all others, telling them you reached your quota? Do you let two, five, eighteen families all get ahead of you to catch up with the placeholder?

We're talking about glorified M&Gs here. I think I was pretty clear. One placeholder (DW -- Disney Whatever) per family unit per M&G session is OK with me, since they all experience the M&G at the same time, in the same instance. If there are ten placeholders ahead of me, then I'm OK with ten family groups, for ten M&G instances, joining them. Not eleven, not twelve, not fifteen.

Shows (where there are "mass gathering" pre-show areas prior to auditorium entry) cannot be regulated once everyone's in the pre-show area, so again, line order doesn't matter so much.

For ride attractions, I still firmly believe families/groups/etc should enter the line TOGETHER. Ride attractions involve sequential spacing (seats, vehicles) with discrete guest capacity. Those should remain strictly FIFO as far as I'm concerned. I'm ambivalent about those leaving the line for bio breaks when necessary, but only after having actually been in line. Anything else is not fair to everyone else in line.

And yes, I'm OK with single-rider lines, to maximize ride capacity. My only caveat is that I expect CMs to enforce single riding from the single-rider line.

Where does it end?
It (the line) ends where the last person in/on it is standing. I will share that data with those trying to pass me.

Why would anyone have to physically move anyone? A simple excuse me as you slide by is all that is necessary. I honestly can't recall a line that didn't have ample room for that. When we went last we had 13 in our party. Often the little ones would move up to be by me or my older dd and then back to their parents. It didn't require any moving on our part they just moved front and back in the open space which was plenty. Why are the people who are bringing in a child elbowing there way through in a wildly obnoxious way? I never witnessed this once. I think people like to exaggerate to make it seem like the people who are rejoining their family are uncouth animals, but in reality they are just parents who are trying to make the best of a bad situation. Waiting for hours to see their favorite characters is tough. I don't think it should be a if you can't wait in a 4 hour line without having to use the bathroom than you don't get to see the character situation. Are people really that cold? Yes, when people are taking advantage and have 15 teenagers busting through a line we all agree that is rude. I don't think anyone is arguing that is OK. Do we really need to throw out tons of examples that aren't anywhere near what the OP mentioned asking where do we draw the line? I think exceptions often need to be made and obviously cm's agree from time to time. I think comparing this to swimming in a fountain or jumping on mickey's back is stupid. It isn't even the same ballpark. Unless you follow every.single.rule. to the letter you have no right to chastise the awful line jumpers. We all bend the rules from time to time and I call BS to anyone who says otherwise.

On our last visit, we were in line to see Merida. My DD was playing with another little girl while me & DH stayed in line. We chatted with the other parents. No one seemed to mind the kids playing quietly on the side. Our wait in line was pleasant and there was no melt downs. :)
