I only got 38 mins on the stairmachine last night because Kev kept text messaging me about how mean and crazy MiMi (my mom) was on the drive back from Miami. Since I know that she is in fact crazy and mean I was worried about him. She has never been mean to Kev before, just her children. At least he understands a little about the problems I have had with her, but I am sad she couldnt hold it together around him.

BTW , I did have a couple more cals....when I picked Kev up from mom there was a bag of baked chips and I ate some. Not quite sure how many cals, maybe 150 or so.

I didnt get Kev home until midnight or so but I made him go to school since he had missed 3 days. He was really tired when I picked him up, so i am not making him do much. He has a lot of homework to catch up on tho!

I did get a lot of exercise today, 70 mins, 64 on stairmachine and 6 mins ablounger.

I slept in late today, but I think I am did ok. I was supposed to go to Kevs Band Banquet tonight. Heres what happened. It was at 5, in town about 30 min drive. I got ready, even curled my hair and was waiting for Kev to get ready. they were supposed to dress up, tie and such. He brought me a pair of khakis to iron...I looked and said "no way this fits you..get your black ones" He went and got the black ones...still no way. So he decided he would wear jeans. He put on his jeans and I went and looked. He was wearing a bright pink polo. So I told him he could wear the jeans, but he still had to wear a shirt and tie. I went and checked on him a few minutes later and his shirt...literally ..barely passed his elbows! He said...mom I havent worn this since 8th grade graduation! Well it was 6 months ago not 6 years! I was totally shocked at how much hes grown. We decided we really didnt need to go to the banquet anyway!

So we went to dinner instead. Mind you, its only 5 and he wants to go to a b=ball game so we went early. Cant get in applebees at 5! Can you believe it? I wanted to go there because they have wt watchers stuff. So we have to go to beef obradys. It was harder to find something, but I got the buffalo-style chicken salad. I only ate MAYBE a third of it. So I looked it up on the net, couldnt find anything on it, but found another that looked similar and it said 870 cals, so I did the math and came up with 290 which seems about right. Except it had croutons, so I added that.

I got 45 mins exercise today. I have forgotten to watch my water, but I got some, not sure how much tho.

Ok, the foods not that great...snacky I guess.

Linda, You are doing good! 4 lbs in less than a week!! :cheer2: I'll take it, too! Water weight or not!

Your doing good in making your choices eating out too. It is really hard, especially when you don't eat out alot, to go for the healthy dish as opposed to all the Yummy bad for you things on the menu!

Good job on your exercise, too! I've GOT to kick it into gear!

Your hotel looks Really nice!! I've been trying to dream up a way to get back down to Orlando, but I'm not having much luck. :confused3 I know you will have a wonderful time!

Hey Linda. I think you're doing great! And even written down, it's all low-cal stuff you ate, and your total for the day was still really good! Don't be so hard on yourself. Nothing says you can only eat a couple times a day!

I'm just checking for a sec because I have a quick turn tonight (5am wake up). Anyway, I didnt get exercise today, thought I'd have time tonight but I misjudged it. I did great on food today until I got home and then I was starving, and ate junk. Actually cereal and a hotdog. So I had around 1500-1600 cals. Not the end of the world. I really need some sort of technique to NOT do this tho. I get home at 10 or 11pm and I'm so hungry that I munch several things. I cant seem to stop it. It has to be my goal now, no late night eating. Shift work sux!


Anyway, gonna watch the game a little



OOps I forgot to say....OUR FOOTBALL COACH LEFT TODAY!:sad:
We are so bummed. But our AD is awesome, and whoever he finds will be good, I'm sure. GO CARDS!
 
I did really well at work today, food wise. I had one of those weight-watchers english muffin sandwiches ( i am gona get more of these), a small salad and a slimfast. When I got home I was hungry (again) but it was only 4 so anyway, I ate my dinner then, which was turkey hot dogs and some baked chips. About an hour ago I got hungry again and had 2 pieces of wheat bread. Comes to 1350 cals. I think I am done, but I may have a fudgesicle, but thats only 40 cals.

I am too tired. I really have to do something. I want to go to the gym, but I havent yet. I was so tired I decided not to exercise today. Then House came on and I said...what the heck...so I got on the stairmachine for 30 mins. My head was screaming and I feel like I have a fever, so I was thinking I just feel bad because I'm sick. Then I think....sheet...might be a flash. I'm not sure and it sux. My head is screaming, but I got 30 mins in.

I got lots of water today. about 84 oz. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to add one little story about work today. We finally got a new hire in today. We are losing 6 more this year to retirement but we got one new guy in . (they told us we were getting 4 but three turned it down when they saw the new pay scale)

Anyway, this guy is 24. He looks younger than my son and I'm sure Kev has 20 lbs of muscle on him! Anyway, I dont mean to dis him, I'm thrilled hes here. I was not phased at all about the "24". We were all 24 when we got hired, too. This was the part that totally freaked me out. He was born in 1982! I know, Linda, do the math. Still not what I mean exactly......1982 is AFTER the STRIKE! We were all hired because of the strike in 1981. We have a new guy who wasnt born then! Its like we all have this common bond...how it was when we were first hired after the strike....how there were 14 people training in the tower when we arrived....how we were working 6 day work weeks and 10 hour days. We now have a guy that has no frame of reference for our reason for existance, basically. ITS FREAKY!

Anyway, thats all.

I decided to try the Universal Weight system at work on a break today. I did 15 mins. 40lbs , 20 reps (2) on the bench press, lat-pull and shoulder press and 60 reps on the leg press 180 libs. then 15 reps on each arm curls 10 lbs. One problem. The shoulder press hurt. I felt like a wimp so I kept doing it anyway. I am in pain now. I think I strained my neck. I have a heating pad on it, hopefully that will help. No more exercise tonight!

I am officially on my new schedule now, so I was off work today. I am now off thursday and friday. thats great except for the working saturday part. That sux!. I got a little bit done today, not a whole lot, but at least I didnt sleep the day away.

I forgot to register my cars in december. Since I have UofL tags they come due every dec. So thats a great merry christmas bill to pay and I always forget about it! But I did mange to get into town to do that, and to get to the grocery and bank.

Then Kev called from school because his stomache pain started again. He said it was the worse it has been. He fixed himself a bowl of tomato soup at around 11pm last night and I think that is what did it. Tomatoes are really acidic, tomato soup will bother me sometimes too, and I dont have an ulcer! Anyway, he took some prilosec and he seems ok now. I told him he needs to avoid tomatoes (and sauce), and I think that will help.

It has been rainy and cold, and my dog Arwen ran around outside a couple of days ago and got her legs all muddy. Its too cold to give her a bath (dont anyone say do it inside or in the tub....been there done that...what a nightmare) anyway, I decided with kevs help we would just take a bucket and wash her legs only. Better than nothing. Of course its gonna rain for the next few days so she will get muddy again, but that mud makes dust in the house and it makes me crazy!

I am now doing laundry and starting my house cleaning. I will finish up tomorrow, I'm gonna relax a bit tonight...Ugly Betty and Greys Anatomy are on!


Heres my food today. One explanation. I didnt have time for breakfast and just grabbed a handful of chips when I went out the door, and another handful when I got home. Well when I looked at the bag....the new sunflower oil lays chips...it says 11 chips is a serving. So I figure those 2 handfuls are 2 servings so I have to count a lot of garbage cals today. I am sticking to baked, I like those better anyway.

Exercise....fabulous....I did 68 mins on the stairmachine, burned 598 cals. And I wouldnt be surprised if I get some more in since those good tv shows are on tonite!

Wow, I havent posted in ages. I have been so sick I have missed work since tuesday. Blahhh. And no exercise either. I have really not been feeling good for months and I am getting a bit worried. I have my physical in march and I have to pass it. So I need to get feeling good enough to get some exercise at least. I have been sleeping for 4 days. What a lazy bum I am. I have to go to work tomorrow because i think I will be out of sick leave!:scared1:

I cant seem to get motivated. I absolutely have to get my taxes done really quickly too so I have the $$$$ for vacation. Those 4* hotels aint cheap!


Anyway at the risk of boring e1 to tears I have some sort of thing with my lymph nodes. Every time I get sick, they swell up HUGE on the back of my neck and head. They hurt sooo bad. Usually half my head will be in horrible pain and nothing helps. This time they started over a week ago, but by wednesday there were 5 or 6 of them and they went all the way down to my shoulder. They swell to about the size of a golfball and I guess they press on nerves or something and that causes the pain. Anyway when I woke up on wednesday I couldnt move my neck at all. The swelling on the left side of my head stopped it. I fell like the elephant woman!:eek: Anyway, yes I have been to the Dr about it. I think its why I dont like Drs. They say its just my lymph nodes and they are doing their job fighting infection whatever. But I dont know anyone else who has them swell up like this and cause such pain. Eventually they go away and I'm fine tho so I guess the Drs right but it seems wrong to me.

No more whining...sorry

Linda - I'm so sorry you've been sick!! I really hope you get to feeling better. That sux about the lymph nodes....do you think you should get a second opinion? I've never heard of them getting that swollen.
I hate it that you have to go to work tomorrow....that sux too!!

Hey, Linda! I'm sorry to hear you've been sick, that SUX! I know you must be REALLY sick too to miss work and DIS for so long! Here's some PD:wizard: pixiedust: to help you get better.

I agree with Marie.... I would ABSOLUTELY get a second opinion about the lymph nodes!! (This coming from a girl who hasn't been to the doctor in 5 years!:rotfl2:) BUT that seems a bit worrisome and more than just the lymph nodes doing their job. My mom had one that swelled up under her arm and it stayed for a few weeks. They thought it might be cat scratch fever and also did a biopsy just to be safe. I think it turned out to be nothing, but you can never be too sure.

You had been doing a good job w/ your exercise and diet. I'm sure once you are feeling better you'll be back on track w/ no problem.

Thanks guys for listening. I am finally feeling somewhat normal today. I didn't get any exercise while I was sick, and when I got better I was still exhausted, so today was my first day back on track. I think I am going to have to change my attitude a little. I mean, after losing 64 lbs and gaining 40 of it back, I just need to reevaluate. I know that i cant lose weight unless i keep my caloric intake to around 1000 cals. I know that sounds low, but it is true. I also know I need to exercise every day. I have been really good about that for years. But lately I think the frustration has just gotten to be too much for me. I have to admit that I need to start dieting as if I have diabetes. I have not been diagnosed, but my sugar levels are bad, and I can tell whats happening. Its a viscious cycle. It causes me to have hunger pangs even when I know I shouldnt be hungry, due to the ups and downs of sugar levels, and if I ignore them I get weak and tired. I need to go to an endocrinologist but I cant lose my medical right now (work). It is too risky. So I have to do this on my own. I have to make sure that I can. How sucky would it be to lose my medical right before I can retire?:eek:

So right now I am going to concentrate on my health and ignore the scale for a while. I think thats best. I did great on exercise today. I got 76 minutes on the stairmachine. That 3 separate sessions. A good start. My food was good today too. 927 cals so far. Nothing really bad except a sugar free fudgesicle which I have every day. I made eggbeaters and turkey bacon for dinner. I put chili powder in the eggs, it was pretty good. Thats 145 cals and lots of protein.

I am not going to make my goal this month, obviously. what I am gonna try to do is get 60 mins a day for the rest of the month. That would give my 786. Then I will start again next month. I am going to try to get exercise almost every day, at least 30 mins. I know, but thats what they say you are supposed to do for diabetes. (I know, I dont really have it, but I'm borderline)

This sounds like a downer, but thats really not true. I am feeling very positive that I can turn this around.:goodvibes

I think taking a break is a good idea. You need to take care of yourself first and foremost!! You know your body best, and you know what to do. I don't think 1000 cal's is too low. Try to get 30 to 60 minutes in of exercise, and I'm sure you'll be 110% in no time

Take care of yourself girl.....how many days until retirement??

Thanks Marie, I'm trying to rethink things. I am keeping a very positive attitude and guess what? I think it got me a treadmill today! I have been asking one of my supervisors if I can buy his tread mill for 2 years and he would never do it. Out of the blue today he said I could have it for 200$. Its more than I wanted to pay but I have used this treadmill (it used to be at work) and I know I really like it. I am getting a big paycheck on tuesday so I will be able to afford it. I really think it will make a difference, I am tired of the stairmachine, quite frankly.

Food today was good, better than I thought. I had a slimfast for breakfast, a slimfast bar for lunch and for a snack.....green beans...I'm not lying...that was a snack. Then for dinner I had tyson buffalo wings and brocolli, cauliflower, and carrots mixture. Of course my fudgsicle. 937 cals, if I dont eat anything else. :goodvibes

Exercise I did 60 mins on the stairmachine and 10 mins weights at work.

A very good day. I also heard a rumor that evil supervisor bid a job in honolulu. Say a little prayer for him that he gets it you all, ok?;)

Well, I'm gonna do the crossword puzzle and then go to bed (do you guys know that doing the crossword puzzle every day keeps your mind working? Its true. My grandma did them until she died at 96. Never the teeniest mental problems)
