AAARGHHHH! I just got my retirement calcualtion info from my union. We have a weird and complicated retirement, but basically its this....you get 1.7 X 20 yrs plus 1 percent for each additional year X avg high 3 salary. For me at my eligibility (25 yrs) that comes to 39%. EXCEPT they added in if you stay 30 years, you get 1.7% per year. Makes mine 51%!!!! Huge difference! More than 1000$ per month! So now I have to wonder if I can manage to stay 5 more years!?! UGH Seriously , thats just one part of the retirement, I would still gat a SS anuity (too complicated to figure, but people say its about 1/2 of what the SS statement says, which would be 700$ per month) plus my thrift savings. Blah.

I did lose a pound this week tho.:)

No kidding! I almost wish I hadnt looked at it! It looks like a difference of 47,000 versus 59,000 for a retirement income. I'm not ganna think about it anymore.


I am going to get started tomorrow on my diet. I am doing low carb again. It makes me feel better so its what I am gonna try again. I dont have the cash to do anything else right now, I spent it all in florida!

I am still working on my trip report....I have 4 days in so far, 2 more to go. The last 2 will have lots more pics because the weather was better.

I have the hugest headache ever. I have had it all day and taken massive drugs, but its still here. Ouch

I started my first full day of low carb today. Probably why the headache. The first couple of days hurt! I did well. Not too terrible on calories either,but more than usual. I had turkey bacon and eggs for breakfast, a turkey burger with provolone for lunch, slimfast lo-carb for a snack, and some braunsweiger for dinner. I had planned fish for dinner, but it was gone!
I still am going to have a fudgsicle and maybe another slimfast ...so I added those cals in. 1650 for today, but it will be less than 20 carbs, so thats good. In a couple of days I'll add my veggies back in.

I have gotten to day 5 on my trip report so check it out!

I was laughing at the "bashing". Not at you, but at how dramatic some people are! Heck, if someone told me that I'd blow away I'd say "Cool...I'll enjoy the ride!" They obviously don't know what it's like to be overweight...to get the looks....to hear the snickers...etc. Keep in mind...some people will ALWAYS be right...and we're not them!! :rotfl: (oh, and I loved the "snitty" comment!!:thumbsup2 )

Hope the headache is gone...have a good weekend!

Hey. I am SO mad now after reading that thread!! All they wanted was to sit and whine and have people agree with them and God forbid anyone state an opinion contrary to theirs!! :furious: I have to restrain myself from posting there. I have closed that window and will not return to that thread. :sad2: I agree that it is not nice to comment meanly about people's weight be it thin or fat, but you were right about most "thin" comments aren't intended to be hurtful.

Well, whatever. I haven't had a chance to read your trip report yet, but it is next on my list.

Good luck on the low carb diet!! :wizard: I'll be looking forward to seeing how you do on it. About how many carbs do you usually get per day?

No need to stress over it Amber! I know how the CB is! People just go into attack mode there! After I apologized for offending the thin, the thread completely died. They just wanted to bash me I think.

Anyway, today was Thunder over Louisville! You guys would freaking love this I bet. So much fun, air show all day, then the biggest fireworks show in north amerca. Seriously, 30 minutes of intense amazing pyrotechnics all choreographed to music. I tried to find a link to a video of it, but nothing yet.

Food today was ok, 1500 cals and around 20 carbs. Headache again. But not all day. Hope this part is over by tomorrow.

Oh and I walked 2 miles this morning.

Maybe that is why I have never really spent much time over there. I mostly hang here and on the Budget boards. When I was heavy trip planning I spent a good bit of time on the attraction and food boards. Oh, well, whatever floats their boats. I will say that I can sort of get the idea of what they started talking about before they started the major whining and bashing. For me the other day I was talking with a coworker about weight loss. She is my age, but shorter. She is most likely not much heavier than me, but it shows more on her. I was saying that I still need to work on my weight loss and she said something to the effect that I didn't look like I need to lose weight. It was not rude in the least and I took it as a compliment... but the truth is for my height I am considered overweight by a good bit. I know that I don't look FAT, but I definitely shapewise could lose a few inches in my waist. It is somewhat frustrating for people to tell you that you do or don't need to lose weight when they don't really know the facts. HOWEVER... I cannot ever imagine complaining that someone called me skinny or too skinny. Like you said, if they thought I was anorexic then I would just set them straight and move on. Somehow I doubt that will ever be a situation that I face :rotfl:

I remember you talking about Thunder last year and it does sound really cool! I love fireworks! I will keep it in mind if we are ever coming up that way to try to plan for the right time of year to go.

BTW, on your trip report, I think you drove through Macon. Did you come down I-75? Next time you drive down remind me of that fact and you guys could come crash at our place for the night. We have lots of floor space (sorry no extra beds yet, a couple of couches though;) )

Yep, I drove thru Macon on I75. I actually thought about you , I wasnt sure if you were macon tho or somewhere else in Ga. It is really pretty in that area, all those really tall evergreens.

Well I did good today. I had to work, and it was crazy busy. All the military aircraft were still there from the airshow and it was just a little crazy today. so I am tired. I didnt get to walk any. Usually sundays are slow enough I can get some walking in, but not today. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Food was good, 1332 cals and still good on the carbs. I had turkey bacon and eggs for breakfast, a salad with egg for lunch and a burger patty for dinner. Plus a lo-carb slim-fast for a snack and I will have a sugar free fudgesicle in a bit.

Also no headache today, Yea!

and I have lost 3 pounds so far.

Mostly good day today. I had one little slip up. Birthday cake. They brought it up to the tower. It was a caramel marble cake. I took one small sliver and skipped the ice cream, but when I went downstairs I checked the calories. It was 100 cals and 13 grams carbs for about a 3 bite sliver. I still think I ended up ok. I had turkey bacon and eggs, salad, burger patty, slim fast and a sugar free fugesicle. 1452 cals and 26 carbs. And 2 miles walked and I lost another pound. So what the heck, I did ok.

I am tired and hungry today for no reason. I had lots of cals, 1600, but not many carbs , 17. I am gonna try drinking a lot of water tonite, see if that stops the hungry feeling.

todays food was, slice of bologna, green salad with egg, burger patty w/provolone, nathans hot dog, slimfast, and fudgsicle. I havent been to the grocery, but I really want some fish. I think I will have tuna tomorrow for lunch, I'm craving it.


2 miles walking today.

Thanks Marie! I sure hope it falls off! I still need to go to the store and get something interesting to eat!

I did ok today, but bored myself to death. I had cheese omelet, tuna, burger patty, slim fast and fudgsicle. I would have another slimfast, but I ran out!

My neighbor came knocking on the door at 8:45 and asked me to go walking with her. Bonus, because I was being lazy and it is so much easier to go with someone else. We had a gab-fest and walked 3.5 miles. It was especially good because she walks way faster than I , and is in great shape, so I had to push it a little (she was going slower for me tho I'm sure). I think she must walk at least 6 miles a day. She always gets up early and walks in the morning too

I filled 2 large bags of clothes from cleaning out one chest of drawers today. And I havent even started on my closet. I am really trying to de-crappify my house. Its lots of work let me tell you! Lordy I have a lot of junk!

So at least I did that today, but I didnt get my walking in. Its raining, and it was kind of bad all day, and when I wanted to go this evening there was a tornado watch so I skipped it. I could have done the treadmill, but I promise I will get at least 2 miles in tomorrow. I might just make my goal for April yet!

Food today was fine. I had a cheese omelet for breakfast, a slimfast for lunch, a piece of bologna for a snack, and this awesome roasted chicken that was marinated in a mesquite flavoring, and green beans for dinner. Of course a fudgsicle. I think I might have another slimfast. If I do that will be 1252 cals so I'm cutting it down a bit.
