Linda's goal = Lose wt + 1/2 marathon 09(encouragement welcome)

HOLY COW LINDA! 10??? TEN??? AWESOME JOB!!!! :cool1: You have to be feeling pretty darn good about yourself now. You could sign up for a half and knock it out of the park at that pace any day! Huge accomplishment!!!! :goodvibes

Congrats on getting your time under a 10-minute mile. DOUBLE congrats on getting into the 150's - I haven't been at that weight in 20 years, so I think that's AWESOME! And DOUBLE DOUBLE congrats on running 10 miles! WOW - 10 miles at one time. That is so amazing to me - I can't run 10 blocks, so 10 miles seems like a LONG way to me! What an inspiration you are - keep going!

And thanks for the encouragement on my journal - it really, REALLY helps me to keep going.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Susan

Linda, congrats on the 10 min!! Wow.. i would be so psyched! And as the others said, WTG about getting to the 150's -- that would be my ultimate goal, so to hear your stories helps me!
Keep up the awesome job!

Not a good week, only ran today against the wind and did 2.1 miles and quit when I went by my house.A 10:03 pace, at one point I was running uphill against the wind and I was literally running in place and could not move in the wind.I had enough of that! Is it spring yet?

Have a good week everyone!
Linda

Went out and did my 6 mile route today-none of the roads are done up here,I was running on what felt like quicksand the entire time.I did it in 66:23 not sure of the pace,I didn't look. Not my best for sure but it was difficult to get traction in that mess.I even had to hurdle some snowbanks.

The only positive, well two positives,is you feel better going out and doing something and when this melts and I am running on asphalt again I should kick butt!

Have a great weekend everyone,
Linda

Hi Linda!

Sorry to hear about the wind and then the road conditions!! Those are factors that you just cannot easily battle, but I give you kudos for still completing 6 miles...hurdling the snowbanks and all :)

Don't worry about your pace at all in those conditions either...and you're right, it will make it seem so easy once the roads are cleared and the weather cooperates!

You're doing an awesome job, keep up the great work!

Have a wonderful weekend

Hi Linda,

Sorry I haven't been around.

:worship: :worship: You are amazing. You broke your 10 min goal. You ran 10 consecutive miles. You are back into the 150's. Keep up the incredible work.

I hope the roads/sidewalks get cleared for you.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Linda!!! :thumbsup2 I'm really impressed with your perserverence...it takes a certain level of commitment and maybe just a pinch of crazy ;) to get out there in the conditions that you've been running in. It's hard to run under the extreme conditions...heat, cold, snow, rain, wind. You've done it all and you continue to improve and get stronger. I have to say that I'm really impressed with how far you've come. Not only do I think you'd just destroy that half marathon next year...I really believe that you will be ready to train for the full marathon instead. I have no doubt you have what it takes...and your fitness level is really high right now. You've got the ability to do...and at quite a respectable pace I might add. I really think your speed is going to increase and you'll be running distance in the low 9's by the summer if not sooner :).

Keep it up!!!! :goodvibes

HI Linda! Just checking in... SNOW...ugh. Great job getting out there and getting it done though!!!

Stacie

Running here these days is like running in brown sugar- no traction and you feel like you need 4 wheel drive to run through.I ran only 6 today, I set out to do 10 but the road conditions made it very frustrating to say the least. I did it in 1:05:55, 10:59 mile.It was difficult.More snow tonight-GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Counting the days until spring,
Linda

Hi Linda,

There is no such phrase as I ONLY ran 6 miles today. It is awesome that you continue to run in nasty conditions.

Take care,
\Beth

I hear ya' sister....these conditions stink and I think it's WAY worse for you up in New England! I agree with Beth..it's never "only" a 6 miler. 6 Miles is an awesome distance...especially given the fact that the conditions are tough...so be proud and don't fret. Besides...LOL...I only ran 3 miles today. I totally wimped out! You rocked it! Way to go Linda!

Just came in from 6 miles.Did it in 66:01, 11 min mile. I hope I am not developing bad habits by running in this stuff, I find that my stride is shorter because I am always on guard.

I will catch up with everyone's journal in the a.m.

Have a great day,
Linda

Linda -

Wow...I continue to be amazed by your running out there in those conditions!!

Be careful!

Have a great weekend

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

OK is anyone else out there totally grossed out with themselves?Gained 4 lbs this week.Feel lousy. On Monday I did the elliptical for 45 mins-burned 419 cals. Yeah one brownie! Today I ran my 6 mile loop and felt every ounce of what I ate. I felt all the added junk in my trunk! I ran it in 64:48, a 10:48 pace.

I hope everyone faired better than I did this season. We bought a new treadmill so that should be coming soon.

Have a good one,
Linda

Friday I ran 3.8 miles at a 10:26 pace. Yesterday I did the elliptical for 45 mins and then walked 5 miles with a friend.Looks like it will be decent today, may head out for a run.

Have a great day everyone,
Linda
