my dh made me a shoulder purse and had a lgmh put on it so i could sport it around the parks. the times i wore it, i had a couple of dissers approach me. i was standing in line to get on our bus @ pop one time, and i spotted a disser in line and i almost knocked her down i was so excited! we talked the whole time like we had been friends for yrs. one girl i met said, "Oh yea, I know mousiemom". i was tickled! i'm always looking for the lgmh! i've never done a dismeet before but i'm sure that would be fun too! one disser was on a solo trip and we spent the day at animal kingdom with her, even rode everest with her.

I went to HD to get mine about a week ago and my friend that is going on the trip with me also went with me to get the LGMH and she didnt understand at all! i just finaly looked at her and said "its a DIS thing you wouldnt understand"

Im wondering how they feel about window paint and if i can find lime green window paint? i will be at POP March 21-26 with my LGMH!

I really want to call up WDW and ask if there is an acceptable way to post your LGMH on your door or window without ruining the door/window or going against any regulations.

I want to put out the "welcome mat" to other Dis'ers but I don't want to ruffle any feathers in the process.

There was a very long thread, one of the first I ever subed to that was titled something like "Disney made me take down my decorations"

Basically it boiled down to no tape no window paint.

Static cling or suction cups for the windows and I think the doors are metal so magnets.

I'm trying to remember what the door knobs are like on the outside of the room doors. Isn't there something that you can stick a Do Not Disturb sign on? Couldn't you do the same thing by punching a hole in a Lime Green Mickey Head, and then tying it to the door knob? That wouldn't damage the door, so I would think it wouldn't break any Disney rules.

Meanwhile, the magnet idea was a good one. That doesn't require too much crafty skill, lol. I can probably manage. I'll give that a go.

So all the doors are metal? With my luck, the ones at CSR will be wooden, lol

The paint samples aren't stickers (someone said something about that). I tried to peel one off, they don't peel off.

I used clear contact paper to put two LGMHs together, back to back. Use bigger pieces than the LGMHs, then trim down to about a quarter inch around the edge. Worked great for me.

I could swear they were stickers. I didn't try to peel them, though. Hmmm. Ok then.

I'd thought of sticking on on my clothes, but I'll have to go back to the old drawing board, lol.

The packing tape idea was a good one. As was the magnet. I'll do both of those.

Oh I Love this Thread........

On My First Xmas trip with my Family to WDW, I had joined the DisBoards to gather info since it was my first time during Xmas, and everyone was talking about the Lime green Mickey heads, I of course had to Have them and sent the Hubby to Home Depot to get them for me, He thought I was nuts,lol. And got the" Exactly what are they for",lol.....But he entertained me and got as many as he could.........I used them on everything, My Stroller, My Back Pack, and on the Window with our names on them and wishing everyone a Merry Xmas....and I also used them to decorate my little Xmas tree I took with me and it was a hit and everyone loved it, I got tons of compliments and hello's. Hubby was so surprised and now everytime we go he insist he have our Lime Green Mickey Heads and he is spotig them and saying hello to people and stricking up conversations......its always nice to say hello and meet new people.........

It'll be just DS6 (who has autism) and myself, so I'll be pleased to talk with someone! Not that I don't love talking to my DS, but he's non-verbal, so there will be minimal two-way conversations during that week!

It could have been you, I'm really not certain though, I don't remember what the people looked like, heck I don't even remember what kind of vehicle they were driving.. We did wave, and they did see us. I was driving a sort of orange / gold colored '94 Honda Accord. It was either on Saturday, September 5th, or Sunday, September 6th, but I don't remember for certain which day it was.
