Lilo & Stitch (Live Action)

I'll be honest, I HATE Stitch. I didn't like the movie, I don't like the character and I'm over Disney pushing it every turn.

Today we went to see "Snow White" and saw my first trailer of it. Hate to say but looks like the CGI is well done and it might be a cute movie. The Lilo is adorable. We'll see.

Our theater ... opening night showing at 6:26 and tickets are $26.26. Supposedly some giveaways. :stitch:

We have A-List and we can not use it on that so we passed, will go next day.

As I said before I HATE the character Stitch, very much.

Saw movie today at 3:30. Good crowd in theater considering early showing.

I still HATE Stitch but I thought the movie was cute, well done and well cast.

DS#1 did not take a 3rd quarter nap so that is always a good sign.

I was reading about specific plot details about this movie and oh wow this sounds..........REALLY bad. But I'm afraid it's going to make a lot of money anyway.

It’s another live action remake, it is what it is. My kids wanted to go see it, Lilo was a great casting choice. Everything else was fine and semi-got the essence of the animated but still wasn’t the same.

But yeah, it’ll likely make over $1B no issue

Personally I don't like seeing these types of movies make a lot of money as it's rewarding mediocrity and in turn will pump out more of these. The changes I've seen with this one sound so bad that I don't think I'll watch this for free down the line.

Unfortunately the masses turn out for these kinds of things. Nostalgia, memes, remakes, sequels rule the day. If a plotless Jack Black fest can make an easy $900M+, why put effort in to storytelling?

I still go to the originals when they release to try and encourage more of them, but people won’t turn out unless they’re reviewed exceptionally.

Sinners became the first original since Coco to gross $200M domestically, and even that is still behind both MCU films globally from this year.

It's cute, well done. It's a more kids movie obv. We have many scenes we rewatch from B&TB, Cruella, Aladdin, Mulan. Like Andor, there's nothing we will watch again here.

Generally I prefer the original animated movies over live actions. But I went to watch it this evening. Some of the plot, especially the alien stuff was a little out there. Overall it was a feel good, heartwarming, kind of movie. I thought the actors were great and the little girl playing Lilo was adorable.

There were some very sweet parts where I got a little emotional. As a school counselor, I loved how they showed bad behavior doesn’t equal a bad child. And how love is stronger than the mistakes we make. It definitely pulled on my heartstrings. Disney did good!!!! ❤️🥹❤️
