What a crazy crossover!!!
It’s another live action remake, it is what it is. My kids wanted to go see it, Lilo was a great casting choice. Everything else was fine and semi-got the essence of the animated but still wasn’t the same.I was reading about specific plot details about this movie and oh wow this sounds..........REALLY bad. But I'm afraid it's going to make a lot of money anyway.
Personally I don't like seeing these types of movies make a lot of money as it's rewarding mediocrity and in turn will pump out more of these. The changes I've seen with this one sound so bad that I don't think I'll watch this for free down the line. It’s another live action remake, it is what it is. But yeah, it’ll likely make over $1B no issue
Unfortunately the masses turn out for these kinds of things. Nostalgia, memes, remakes, sequels rule the day. If a plotless Jack Black fest can make an easy $900M+, why put effort in to storytelling?Personally I don't like seeing these types of movies make a lot of money as it's rewarding mediocrity and in turn will pump out more of these. YUP! DS#2 and I went to see Final Destination Bloodlines today. We were talking about how the top 3 grossing movies this week are Lilo & Stitch, Final Destination and Mission Impossible. NONE of them original story lines. We were saying why are people still spending money on these but don't go for the more original or indie type films. BECAUSE it seems that at $18-26 per ticket folks are going to the safe stories they know. We have A-List so the ticket price doesn't matter, but I've walked out from a movie and thought thank goodness I didn't pay full price for that.Unfortunately the masses turn out for these kinds of things. I still go to the originals when they release to try and encourage more of them, but people won’t turn out unless they’re reviewed exceptionally.
Sinners became the first original since Coco to gross $200M domestically, and even that is still behind both MCU films globally from this year.
The 4 Original Films that Walt Disney Animation since January 2021 earned a total of $720.3M at the box office.YUP! DS#2 and I went to see Final Destination Bloodlines today. Lilo & Stitch has done 341M worldwide already. Yeah, probably another billion dollar movie for Disney. So maybe the trick is to do the ones that are original stories or the 90s era ones?
